About this property

Mt. Hood Cabin | Hot Tub, Pool & River

Mt. Hood Cabin | Hot Tub & Sandy River

Tucked inside the Timberline Rim community along the forested corridor of E Lolo Pass Road, this classic Pacific Northwest cabin delivers exactly what a Mount Hood getaway is supposed to feel like — towering firs, clean mountain air, and a pace of life that makes your regular schedule feel like a distant rumor. Whether you're here to ski Timberline, hike the surrounding trails, float the Sandy River, or simply do nothing particularly well, this cabin is set up to make it easy.

The Setting

Rhododendron sits at the base of Mount Hood, and the Timberline Rim neighborhood captures the best of that location — residential enough to feel private, rural enough to feel wild. The Sandy River and Clear Creek are both within easy walking distance of the property, offering some of the best swimming holes and summer wading in the Mt. Hood corridor. In the winter, the same trees that shade those rivers are loaded with snow, and the cabin becomes a natural base for skiing, snowshoeing, or just hibernating with good company.

Need to grab something you forgot? The Brightwood Store is about a mile away — close enough to be convenient, far enough that you won't hear it.

The Cabin

The layout is designed for two couples or a small family traveling together without stepping on each other. Two fully separate bedrooms each have their own private feel, and two full bathrooms mean no morning traffic jams. The common living area is comfortable and functional — a place to decompress after a day on the mountain or out on the water — and the kitchen has everything you need to cook real meals rather than just surviving on snacks.

Outside

This is where the cabin earns its keep. The deck is the natural headquarters for morning coffee and evening wind-downs, with the kind of forested backdrop that makes it hard to go back inside. Fire up the gas BBQ for dinner — grilling supplies are provided — or skip straight to the hot tub, which has recently been serviced and is fully operational year-round. It's particularly excellent after a ski day when your legs have stopped functioning normally. Hot tub instructions are included in the check-in guide and posted at the unit. In the summer months, the Timberline Rim community swimming pool adds another option for cooling off after time on the trails.

Community Pool

The Timberline Rim community pool is available to guests seasonally. Pool hours are 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. No glass, alcohol, smoking, or vaping is permitted in the pool area. A shower is required before entering the pool. Pool access is managed by the Timberline Rim Rec Club — please follow all posted rules during your visit.

A Few Things to Know

Cell reception in the Timberline Rim area is limited — this is part of what makes it feel like a genuine escape, but it's worth downloading offline maps and any trail guides before you arrive. The cabin has recently been upgraded to a new high-speed internet provider, so streaming and staying connected are no longer a concern once you're inside. We still recommend bringing a book or card games for time away from the cabin when you're out in the woods and off the grid. The cabin is a great place to unplug on your own terms.

Who This Cabin Is For

This is the right place if you want a genuine Pacific Northwest retreat — not a resort, not a hotel, but a cabin that actually feels like a cabin. It works well for two couples, a small family, or a group of four friends who want space to spread out without renting something that sleeps twelve. If you're looking for the right base to ski Hood, explore the Sandy River Gorge, or just unplug in the trees for a few days, you've found it.
