Long Neck Getaway

Beautiful townhouse. Only glitch was electronic lock would not allow us in on Saturday afternoon and we had to wait in our car for about and hour till it was resolved

Really like the peninsula and while this was a very nice large place it was rather lacking the homey feel. We came to find out it was for sale so that probably accounted for the sterile vibe. No hooks for towels, no rugs, sparse small amount of living room furniture, no tvs in bedrooms not a lot of kitchen ware. Certainly not what we are used to when renting at the Peninsula.

The Peninsula community itself was the only positive experience during our vacation. 5 stars to them.VuStay/VRBO/Host not so much. Listing inaccuracies such as amenity costs were 48% higher than on rental agreement. Sand in furniture, stains on carpet, bed sizes listed as queen (actually full size - much smaller), bikes locked in the garage (inaccessible), condensation dripping from oven vent (AC unit on second floor) into our food while cooking and then mold in the detergent reservoir of washing machine. All these issues were ignored with the exception of the water leaking from oven vent. A technician was sent to take a look. Did nothing but he did show up. Needless to say we handled most of the issues ourselves. Multiple documented emails, texts and pictures to VuStay/VRBO/Host with responses of “we’re checking with our local team” or “a manager will contact you”. To date we have received absolutely no resolve. Obviously the vacation is now over so their attention to these matters are meaningless.After all these years using this service, it was by far the worst experience our family ever had on vacation. VuStay/VRBO/Host lost our future business.

Great week at the Peninsula

The Peninsula is a fantastic resort community. Aside for just wanting to spend a day in Rehoboth and on the beach, there is almost no need to leave the community. The pool(s), mini-golf, pickleball, and walking trails were more than enough to keep us busy all week. There are several grocery stores right at the entrance that allowed us to stock up and have most of our meals in the gourmet kitchen/dining room setup. The upstairs flex space is perfect for the kids to play, watch TV, etc. Aside from the normal landscape upkeep, the neighborhood is very quiet, but very friendly and active. The house itself is very modern, wifi is strong, TV's are great, and the open layout is beautiful. Appliances were easy to use, and kitchen had everything we needed to cook with. Having linens included is worth the trade off of having to buy passes to use the amenities. We would definitely stay here again!

Girlfriends Getaway

The Peninsula was clean, pristine, and felt safe. Home was exactly as advertised. Community was welcoming and friendly. House is juxtapositioned equally between Lewes and Rehoboth Beaches. Local restaurants and shops were great! The only negative me and my guests encountered was with the insensitivity of the management company's personnel when we called because we were locked out of the home because the keyless lock pad stopped responding to the access code. Regrettably there was no contingency entry plan (i.e. lockbox, garage keypad, or extra key at guard station) which resulted in us waiting outdoors for over an hour for someone to drive to the development to let us in. When help did arrive, she was unprofessional and spoke condescendingly requesting that I show her how I tried to open the door--the same door I had been using for the past two nights. Management company ultimately offered a credit to our payment methods for our inconvenience. While this was a nice gesture an apology would have worked too. Given this was a small part of our experience, which we ultimately made epic, we would consider renting again and perhaps even share with others. Trying another home in the Peninsula in December. Stay tuned for that review with a different owner.
