Could easily be a 5 Star property, but...

Sadly, with just a little attention and service this could easily be a 5-star rated property. But more on that later. The positive: This property was perfect for our extended family (6 adults, 4 children). The main house was a great gathering spot for meals and hanging out. The 2 cabins enabled each family to have their own space. The houses were very well equipped with just about everything you needed. The dock was awesome for swimming, jumping, etc. The bad: When we arrived, the main house was still being cleaned. Then, none of the door codes worked. It took an hour on the phone with Vacasa support to get this resolved and the local support staff was no help. The houses were poorly cleaned with dead-bug-laden cob webs, and considerable dirt, dust and pet hair. The main house refrigerator door did not close properly, the freezer did not keep things frozen and it leaked water. The middle cabin had a very musty, even moldy, smell. Dealing with Vacasa support through a 800 number or text messages is very difficult and the local staff was unresponsive to our needs.

Little slice of Heaven in Maine

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect time to visit Maine to see the fall colors and enjoy the beauty of Toddy Pond from the comfort of our rentals. The main house and the cottages were perfect for our group with 3 couples. Two couples used the cottages and one couple took the main bedroom in the main house. We had plenty of cooking supplies and enjoyed using the provided gas grill for two nights of our stay. We gathered each night in the main house to eat or play games and enjoy the views of Toddy Pond and the beautiful grove of trees surrounding the property. We enjoyed sitting on the private dock. The space provided was perfect for our group and we appreciated all the seating in the main house. I really have to say that we loved our time here in this property. As wonderful as everything was there were a few things that were not as we expected. The property is advertised with having a King Bed, two Doubles, and two queens. The way that we thought the beds would be layed out was two doubles upstairs in the main house, two queens in the two cottages and a king bed In the main bedroom of the main house. However the cottages each had a double bed, the queens were in the upstairs bedroom of the main house and the master bedroom of the main house did not have a King bed but had a queen instead. The master bedroom bed was very comfortable we thought. None of our party used the beds upstairs so we cannot comment on those. The beds in the cottages were older and were not very comfortable. Probably could use an upgrade. I am 6’6 and the short ceilings in the bathrooms and hallways were a bit challenging at times. Vaulted ceilings in the main house living area was very nice. Also the property was advertised with a fireplace but the fireplace is not able to be used. Overall we loved our stay here and would rent here again if coming to this area in the future. I think with a few small changes with the beds this property would be perfect.
