We were very pleased with this property. Marco was a perfect host, the sea view was stunning, and the stone house charming and interesting. It had everything we needed. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Very beautiful and comfortable house in a nice rural area. The host is very friendly ad helpful. He also gave us a tour of his plantation of pineapples and bananas (at his house nextdoor).

If you are looking for a break away from it all to enjoy the views you will not go wrong here. Shops are a short drive a way to replenish the fridge. Not keen on driving at night so were back well before dark to enjoy the views and sample the local wine.

Beautiful Home, Island, and vacation!

The cottage has a ton of character, built from volcanic stone, and was excellent for our family. It's located centrally on the island and perfect for day trips to sites on both ends of the island (45 min max drive time either way). We spent 8 days here and would visit again, for sure.Marco gave a nice tour of the property including pineapple and banana orchards too.Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful week stay at this property. Marco was so very friendly and showed us around the home once we arrived.I loved the rustic feel of the property and enjoyed the wonderful views, songs of the mourning doves and beautiful sunsets from the patio. It was very peaceful and a perfect place to relax. The home was also perfectly situated on the island to sightsee and move around easily. I would definitely return to this property in the future!!

Beautiful House!

This is a lovely house in an idyllic setting. Convenient to the sites and restaurants but in the peace and quiet of the country. Marco provided excellent restaurant recommendations and a list of must see spots which was appreciated. The house was spacious and comfortable even on a rainy day.

We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay on Sao Miguel in this house. On a small lane in a quiet rural neighborhood, with a nice view of the north side of the island and the ocean, with cows and doves all around. The house feels remote, yet it is well located and central to the island, only a 10 or 15 minute drive to the airport. You can walk to the coast, and there is a small store in the town, but you will need a car to get around to stores, restaurants, and all the beautiful island sights.Be warned that getting through the entry gate is a challenge with an anything but a small car.Marco, the host, was friendly and helpful, and communication was easy (I recommend WhatsApp).Overall, a lovely spot for a relaxing vacation on Sao Miguel.

Two weeks in Sao Miguel

We spent a week at Marco's house to visit the Western part of the island and another week in Furnas to visit the eastern part of Sao Miguel, but Marco's house is a great spot to visit the entire island. The view is truly exceptional and the house is pleasant. No swimming pool (or jacuzzi?) as mentioned on the website but Santa Barbara beach and natural swimming pools are nearby.

Exceptional property

I just came back from a week stay in this wonderful house. The setting is amazing, views in every direction( even better than the pictures on the VRBO site.) It was so pleasant to come home to the house and enjoy the views from the patio. The house has such charm and is a very central location for anything you would want to do on the island. The owner, Marco, was a delight. He was very informative and made us feel very much at home. I would highly recommend this house.

Historic rock house in rural area. Remodeled somewhat inside. Beautiful views of ocean and volcanic peaks.House could use some updates including a new front door lock (current one is pretty wonky and bothersome to make work!) and more comfortable mattresses. The bathroom lacked washcloths and Kleenex. The house does not offer clothes-washing facilities. Steep rock steps to get up to entrance.Be aware that the house has no window screens, so various kinds of insects will be inside. We had to deal with an infestation of tiny black ants on the kitchen counter. Owner did provide insect spray.Owner very helpful and kind!

Best vacation rental ever

When we saw the posting of the house, we booked our vacation dates to the only multi-day opening that was available. The actual stay surpassed everything we could hope for from the description. An absolute highlight: Spending evenings on the patio with a panoramic view of the Atlantic and the landscape. Another highlight: Mario, the owner, who welcomed us in person and, on another day, gave us an extended tour of the plantation. An absolute dream vacation. Thank you!!

True Perfection!

Marco’s place is truly a slice of heaven in the Azores! He is an incredibly welcoming, warm, and kind host—anticipating our needs and making himself available to assist throughout our trip. My partner and I spent a week in his home and never grew bored of the splendid views from every angle. The space is located near many delicious restaurants and only 15 min from beautiful Santa Barbara beach! Marco also kindly showed us the pineapple and fruit orchard and kind explained the history of the property. We are so grateful for his hospitality and can’t wait to visit again!
