Tucked beneath the trees in Arrowhead Lake, Sleepy Bear Retreat is the kind of place that feels warm the moment you walk through the door. Designed primarily for couples and quiet getaways, this cozy chalet blends rustic Pocono character with comfortable, updated spaces that actually feel usable, relaxing, and lived in, not staged.

The first impression of the home is the bright sunroom, where sunlight pours through the windows and overlooks the driveway, fire pit, and deck. This space sets the tone for the stay. Guests can enjoy morning coffee at the checkerboard game table, relax in the seating area, or simply unwind while looking out toward the trees and yard. Just outside, the deck features hanging string lights, a four-person outdoor dining table with umbrella, and a grill tucked off to the side for easy outdoor dinners.

Inside, the main living room is the centerpiece of the home. The vaulted chalet ceilings with exposed wood beams immediately create that classic Pocono cabin atmosphere, while string lights suspended from the beams give the room a warm glow in the evenings. A large wood-burning stove anchors the space and makes the entire room feel cozy during colder months. The seating area includes a new three-person couch, two matching loveseats, and a soft area rug that makes the space comfortable for long conversations, movie nights, or slow mornings with coffee. There is a mounted TV, Xbox, VCR for a little nostalgic fun, and even a dog bed for guests bringing their four-legged companion along.

The dining area comfortably seats six and flows naturally into the kitchen, making the home feel connected and social without being crowded. A chandelier hangs above the table, while a nearby credenza stores local guides and information about attractions around the Poconos. In the kitchen, granite countertops and matching appliances provide an updated, practical cooking space with everything most guests will need, including a microwave, oven, toaster, and coffee setup. The breakfast bar seats four, making it easy for everyone to gather together while meals are being prepared. The kitchen sink overlooks the side yard and fire pit, giving the space a surprisingly peaceful view.

Just off the kitchen is the coffee bar, stocked with both a Keurig and drip coffee maker. Coffee, sugar, creamers, and hot chocolate are provided to make mornings easy. This hallway also leads to the first full bathroom, one of the standout spaces in the house. The lower bathroom features a jetted jacuzzi tub, illuminated mirror, standing shower, bidet toilet, hanging plants, and modern touches that create a private spa-like atmosphere after a day exploring the area.

The primary bedroom is located downstairs and includes a queen bed, matching bedroom set, TV, ceiling fan, wall AC unit, and large windows that keep the room bright and comfortable.

Upstairs, guests will find a small desk area that works well for remote work or quiet reading, along with two additional bedrooms and a second bathroom. The upstairs queen bedroom is oversized and comfortable, with another TV, books for guests to enjoy, and additional storage. The bunk room includes two twin-over-twin bunk beds decorated with playful bear accents and thoughtful touches throughout. While the home can sleep larger groups, it is intentionally designed and best enjoyed by one or two couples looking for a quieter, more comfortable retreat.

The bear-themed decor throughout the home gives Sleepy Bear Retreat its personality. From the custom sign and bear accents to rustic wall decor, canoe oars, pinecone artwork, and stuffed bears tucked throughout the house, the cabin fully embraces its cozy Pocono identity without feeling overdone.

Outside, the fire pit area is one of the highlights of the property. Adirondack chairs surround a brand-new fire pit beneath overhead lighting, with a beautiful red leaf maple creating a peaceful centerpiece between the house and outdoor gathering spaces.

Located inside Arrowhead Lake, guests also have access to one of the Poconos’ most amenity-filled communities. Multiple lakes and beaches, fishing, boat rentals, playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, pickleball courts, pools, and community activities are all nearby. The closest beach is only a few blocks away, making it easy to enjoy the lake without spending the day driving around.
