This place is FANTASTIC!! It's quiet, peaceful, and has incredible views of the mountains. Don't let the drive up intimidate you because it is worth it!! The hosts are so nice and have paid attention to all the details that made staying here special, from the automatic nightlight in the bathroom to the games in the living area. I have now convinced myself I need a small cabin tucked high in the woods because I didn't want to leave. Black Mountain and Montreat are small towns with so much charm just a short drive away and if you're adventurous like we were, Chimney Rock is about an hour (which sounds like a lot but it's because you go through so many 35-mph zones), the Blue Ridge Parkway winds around the area the cabins are, and there are small lakes and hiking trails everywhere around here. If you're a birder, there are a variety of species found on the premises and I was greeted by a pair of Barred Owls the first morning and a Blue-Headed Vireo sang everyday while I sat on the deck. There are a ton of hotspots around that area also as well as the river bottom and wetland area at the bottom of the entry road. There is also a huge meadow on the road before the entrance road which might offer some owls and sparrows but unfortunately I was pressed for time and didn't get to thoroughly bird the area. If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy Nature then I would highly recommend staying here. If you want crowds and noise you may want to look elsewhere.

Cute and cozy with great mountain views

This cute little cabin was a perfect 2 night stay for my husband and I. We enjoyed the mountain views from our front porch. The cabin as clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The drive to the cabin was a bit unexpected with gravel roads but once we got to our cabin we felt away from the in town crowd. There are other cabins around but we didn’t feel that our space was invaded at all. There is no TV in the unit but we didn’t feel not even miss it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend this cabin to family and friends.
