We do not hire maintenance workers! The Marx family’s holiday homes are located in the most beautiful part of the approximately 30-kilometer-long Extertal Valley, within the Extertal Holiday Park. The Extertal Holiday Park is situated between the Weserbergland Nature Park and the Teutoburg Forest Nature Park on the state border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony, not far from the historic half-timbered towns of Rinteln, Hamelin, and Lemgo. This holiday area, set in picturesque surroundings, is far from through traffic yet still easily accessible. Our holiday homes were built in 1994 in the Scandinavian style and have become very dear to us and our returning guests. Let yourself be enchanted by the magnificent landscape and enjoy a stay in a central location during your holiday. Whether you’re on a family holiday with children and a dog, travelling in a group with friends, or as a couple, each holiday home offers a cosy five rooms, including three bedrooms, a comfortable kitchen, and an attractive bathroom, as well as a relaxing sauna and a cosy wood-burning stove. The holiday homes are an ideal starting point for all kinds of activities; the exciting surrounding area, with plenty of recreational opportunities, is right “on your doorstep.” The Extertal Holiday Park is located on the edge of a nature reserve. Nestled among fields, meadows, and forests, it is an ideal starting point for hikes and mountain bike tours. The Weserbergland forest begins right behind the houses. The Marx family’s houses are not suitable for construction workers. Two dogs are welcome in the houses (30.00 EUR one-time fee per dog) (except for House Sophie, which is dog-free; unfortunately, cats are not allowed.)
The Luna holiday home was built in 1992 in the Scandinavian style. It is situated in a completely quiet location on a hill in the Extertal Holiday Park near Rinteln. The total size of the holiday home is approximately 70 m². This provides more than enough living space for five people, who can find accommodation in three bedrooms (1 double bed 2.00 m × 1.80 m, 1 double bed (2.0 m × 1.60 m), and 1 single bed (2.0 m × 0.90 m)). You’ll also have access to a fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher, oven, 4-burner hob, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster, and plenty of kitchen accessories. Through the attractive new bathroom—featuring a rain shower and washing machine—you’ll reach (via an exterior door) the highlight: the sauna house, which invites you to relax. The holiday home features a cosy living room with a modern, comfortable sofa and a wood-burning stove, an inviting dining area, and modern amenities such as: free Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a DVD/Blu-ray player, and a stereo system. In addition to the fireplace, the holiday home also has electric radiators. Electric floor heating is installed in both the living area and the bathroom. We’ve also installed an infrared heater in the bathroom, which makes you feel as if you’re standing in the sun. New to the home is our split-system air conditioner in the living/dining area, which provides pleasant cooling and also allows for cost-effective heating of the house. A staircase leads up to the loft on the upper floor. The holiday home features its own fenced-in garden with a patio and outdoor seating. Here you can unwind at the end of the day or grill a steak or two (grill provided). You’ll also have access to a parking space with an 11-kW wallbox right next to the house. A security deposit of 150.00 EUR must be paid prior to arrival. The remaining balance of the deposit will be refunded to you after deducting utility costs, electricity consumption (0.49 euros per kWh), and firewood (daily rate). You’re welcome to add towels (10 EUR/person) and bed linens (12.00 EUR/person) for an additional fee; there’s a one-time fee of 30.00 EUR for dogs. Please note that the holiday home is accessible via a flight of stairs from the car park (see photos).
