Beachfront Tofino with stunning ocean views- for Families!

Lovely large private suite, family- friendly, private sandy beach 20 steps from the door! Floor to ceiling windows throughout giving panoramic views towards the open Pacific, Lennard Island Lighthouse and Tonquin Beach. The Tonquin Trail begins adjacent and leads through virgin rainforest, platform lookouts over Templar Channel and two more beautiful sandy beaches.The UNESCO Biosphere of Clayoquot Sound is at your doorstep. Discover the story behind the wreck of the Tonquin!
The three bedroom, two bathroom suite, large living room, dining room, with hand adzed beams, wood-burning fireplace, and sundeck create an ambiance not replicated in other Tofino homes. There is a very comfortable king-sized bed in the master bedroom with adjacent three piece en-suite, queen bedroom with completely new shower en-suite, and twin bedroom with extra long twin beds. The living area is spacious enough for games, the fireplace, and flat screen TV. The dining room table seats 6 comfortably. A large south facing sundeck wraps around the three bedrooms, overlooking Tonquin Beach. At the main entrance, there is a covered deck with barb-b-que.
Following the 20 steps down to the west facing beach on a short path there is a beautiful pocket sandy beach, perfect for relaxing, sunsets, outdoor beach games or a hot dog roast. There is also an outdoor fire pit on the property adjacent to the beach- (when fires are permitted by law). The stunning Tonquin Trail can be enjoyed by the walking path at the top of the driveway, or at low tide from the small beach on the property. Tonquin Beach is a hidden treasure, with Indigenous cultural history, scenic caves, and a natural freshwater pool perfect for young children to splash in and enjoy. For those interested in fishing, you can try your luck by casting for fish right off the rocks in front of the house from June to September !
If you prefer, you can walk the 1 km. road into town to enjoy an evening meal or go shopping.

Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please take out the trash to the green Square trash container, and put all recycling in the blue mobile container. All returnables ( beer, wine, cardboard milk cartons) to be rinsed and separated.
Please strip beds, save duvets and pillows. Stack towels and sheets in hall adjacent to laundry room.
Turn down heat, turn off lights, and remove all personal items.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Quiet hours: 10:00 p.m. - 7 a.m. Maximum 2 cars. Absolutely no gatherings, parties, or events. No pets. Laundry facilities available by arrangement.
Registered guests only on the property. No abusive language will be tolerated.
There is a limit of 6 people maximum for the suite, and all short term rentals in Tofino. Please tell us about your family or group. Thank you!

This is perfect property for our family, right of top of two beaches for our son to spend time in & about the water. It's also a mere 10 minute walk to town, so no need for parking & paying for same when you just need a few things or want to grab a bite. Cathy & Steve are very hospitable hosts; the beds are comfy & kitchen well stocked. We'll be back!

We loved staying in this beautiful property by Tonquin Beach. It is a magical place, complete with sea stars and sea urchins, eagles flying by, evening sunsets, and a lovely landlord who brings fresh baked cookies! Amazing stay

This property was a lovely experience from start to finish. The host, Cathy, is wonderful and has a wonderful list of recommendations for trails and food that we greatly enjoyed. As mentioned in the other reviews, the pocket beach and access to the tonquin beach trail are highlights and the space had everything we wanted for our family. We also loved the proximity to nearby trails between Tofino and Ucluelet. Highly recommend this property, thank you Cathy for making our trip so memorable by sharing your lovely space!

Fantastic Beach House

We stayed a few nights and really enjoyed our time here and in Tofino. Our hosts were very responsive and communicative. The house was very comfortable and taken care of. We loved the private access to the available beach portion and then explored more during low tide. We even took the opportunity to have a fire one of the mornings! The walk into town is not bad at all if you don’t want to look for parking. Would definitely come back!

Stunning location

Walked to town numerous times for eating and shopping. Hiked through the rain forest to a few fantastic beaches. Host was very accommodating and gracious. Property has a very nice private beach with interesting tidal pools to explore. House is beautiful and has a well-equipped kitchen, bedrooms are spacious and beds are comfortable.

Wow’y wow WOW!!!

This place is everything that the listing describes and more! The grounds, view and staired path winding down to the quiet beach are breathtaking! The suite is nicely decorated, spacious, comfortable and offers gorgeous views from every room. The host is lovely, welcoming and helpful but also gave us complete privacy. I can’t seem to find the words to properly express just how gorgeous this property is! It was difficult leaving and we can’t wait to return. Thanks so much :)

We bought our house in 1989, and began doing Bed and Breakfast in Tofino in 1990, as one of only 5 homes to do so. In 1998 we converted the main floor of the large house into a private vacation rental suite, allowing guests to share our experience of living 'on the beach'. My husband works at the hospital in Tofino, as a physician, and I serve on the District of Tofino Council, Tonquin Trail Committee, and the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property for its 1.3 acre south and west facing beachfront, and its proximity to town and the local hospital! It is a very unique property, with two beaches, hiking trail, great kayaking, 'supping' opportunities, whale watching, breath-taking sunsets, and the best low tide viewing on the Tofino coastline. You can even surf on Tonquin Beach in the winter! The sunsets here are sublime!

What makes this property unique

Beach walking and the new Tonquin Trail through old growth rainforest and sandy beaches, SUP-ing, kayaking, fishing from beach ( June to September ), whale watching from the beach in front, surfing, storm-watching, trampoline on property, and wonderful food- Tofino has many Canadian culinary delights ! ( Sobo, Tacofino and Shelter are our favourites!)
