Do you want to escape the stress of everyday life for a while, find some peace, and relax?
Then our cosy and comfortable holiday apartment, “Zum alten Friseursalon,” just outside Berlin, is the perfect place for you! The name says it all!
True to the motto “living in a former hair salon,” everyday life gets a proper “shave” here—it’s thoroughly “trimmed” away—because our spacious, nearly 100-square-meter holiday apartment leaves almost nothing to be desired!
Are you getting married and looking for a place to spend the night before the big event in the traditional way—separate from your future husband and with your girlfriends?
Then you’re in excellent hands with us, too!
Thanks to the intentionally preserved salon-style features—such as large mirrored walls and backward-facing sinks—you can relax in our holiday apartment while getting ready for your wedding and having your hair and makeup done.
Upon request, we can also arrange for a hairstylist, a beautician, and a photographer to come to the apartment, where they ’ll pamper you and take photos according to your wishes.
Location:
The holiday rental is located just outside Berlin and is conveniently situated right off the A10 highway; Berlin-Hellersdorf exit.
The accommodation is also very easy to reach by public transport.
From Berlin Central Station, you can take S-Bahn Line 5 (without changing trains) to the local Fredersdorf station in just 50 minutes.
From there, the holiday rental is just a 9-minute walk or a 2-minute bus ride away.
A stop for bus line 949, which runs between the Petershagen and Neuenhagen S-Bahn stations (via the Fredersdorf S-Bahn station), is just a one-minute walk from the accommodation.
The Fredersdorf S-Bahn station connects the town to the capital, with the S5 line passing through all major stations in the heart of Berlin.
This means that Alexanderplatz, 25 km away, can be reached in just 40 minutes—both by car and by S-Bahn (without changing trains); and the Ku’Damm (also without changing trains) in just about 50 minutes.
The Olympic Stadium is also easily accessible by public transport.
Thanks to its proximity to Berlin, the town of Fredersdorf is well-connected; it has nearly all major supermarket chains and drugstores, several petrol stations, and yet has not lost its rural, village charm.
The Penny, Rewe, and Lidl supermarkets, as well as the dm and Rossmann drugstores, are even within walking distance and some stay open until 10:00 p.m., so you don’t have to sacrifice the conveniences of a larger city without actually feeling like you’re in one.
The culinary offerings are also impressive. There are numerous restaurants in the immediate vicinity, including one Indian, two German, and one Italian restaurant that are even within walking distance.
An ice cream shop is located directly across the street.
Of course, several restaurants also offer delivery to the holiday rental.
Amenities:
The holiday rental is located in the basement of a well-maintained single-family home and was previously used for 30 years as a hair and beauty salon, as well as a nail salon.
There is ample free parking available in front of the property and in the immediate vicinity.
A small front yard with a stream and a bridge, illuminated by lamps along the path, adds charm to the entrance to the property.
During the Christmas season, an illuminated fir tree adds to the particularly festive atmosphere.
The front yard is fenced and lockable, allowing any bicycles you bring to be safely parked at the bike rack there.
Motorcycles can also be parked there with appropriate protection.
The entrance, located at the foot of a small staircase, leads through a glass-enclosed sunroom, which makes it feel particularly bright and welcoming.
The sunroom features a large, custom-made dining table that comfortably seats 8 people; several board games are built into the tabletop for cosy get-togethers or family evenings.
Thanks to the glass roof, dining and relaxing at the table—whether it’s raining or snowing, or simply gazing up at the starry sky—becomes a special experience.
Adjacent to the sunroom is a large, open living room (approx. 30 square metres) featuring—in homage to a hair salon—partially mirrored and wood-paneled walls, two rear-facing sinks, and a suspended ceiling with recessed lighting.
Here, you can have your hair washed while sitting in front of the TV in the living room.
The living room also features a large flat-screen TV with all the popular entertainment apps.
(A separate account is required for certain apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, etc.)
The sunroom can be separated from the living room by a pull-out fabric panel that serves as a room divider.
At the far end of the living room, on the right-hand side, is the kitchen, which is slightly elevated and therefore accessible via two steps.
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, toaster, electric kettle, combination coffee maker (for filter coffee or coffee pods), and an induction cooktop with two burners.
An XXL microwave can also be used as an oven thanks to its convection and grill functions.
Just to the left at the far end of the living room is the entrance to the bathroom, which features a sink, a toilet, and a washer-dryer.
A hair dryer is also provided here for your use.
This room is also slightly elevated and can therefore be reached via two steps.
Anyone wondering where the shower is will be surprised.
As befits a unique themed accommodation, the shower is also located in an unusual spot.
Between the bathroom entrance on the left and the kitchen entrance on the right, at the far end of the living room, there is a spacious 1.20-meter-wide shower stall that enhances your showering experience—whether through its LED lighting, radio, and Bluetooth capabilities or through the unobstructed view of the living room TV.
Thanks to its size, the shower is, of course, also ideal for a shower experience for two. Naturally, the person showering is protected from overly curious glances from housemates in the living room by an adhesive film (at the front) and a curtain (on the sides).
The small bedroom (approx. 12 square metres) leads off from the sunroom, and the large bedroom (approx. 20 square metres) is located at the far left end of the living room; both are situated on a slightly elevated level and accessible via two steps.
Both bedrooms are equipped with their own sink and mirror, feature LED spotlights in the ceiling and wall sconces for a cosy lighting atmosphere, and, of course, each has a flat-screen TV with all the popular entertainment apps.
A 500 Mbit fiber-optic internet connection leaves nothing to be desired, even for those who simply can’t stay away from work even in a place like this.
Our holiday rental is generally designed to accommodate 4 people.
Additional sleeping arrangements with extra-large and comfortable king-size fold-out beds in the large bedroom (or one fold-out bed per bedroom) are available by arrangement for an additional charge of 20€ per person per night.
Also by arrangement and for an additional fee, it is possible to open a door that is otherwise locked, granting access to a small, cosy sauna with color-changing lights and background music.
However, the sauna is expressly not part of the standard amenities, as access cannot be guaranteed to every guest.
We will do our best to ensure you have a wonderful and unforgettable stay in our holiday rental and to respond to any spontaneous requests as best as possible and in a timely manner.
And now, a very warm welcome to the “Zum alten Friseursalon” holiday rental!
