We stayed in Moose Lodge. It is a really cute little cabin. We had a wonderful trip and John was very helpful when we had questions. We’d definitely stay there again.

It was great to have you as our guests in the Moose Cabin.
Great cabin nicely located between Homer & Soldotna
Bulk of our stay was in Seward, but came over to this side of the peninsula for a couple nights. Was a great setup for 4 adults, with lots of room to stretch out and a full kitchen (well stocked, communal with guests before/after).

Doug, thank you for the comments and for staying with us in the moose Cabin. John
Very cozy cabin with all the amenities. Fun decor. Very clean. Secluded but roomy and a great deck. Beautiful vegetation. Easy to find and enter. John was so helpful when we suddenly needed a baby bed! Made everyone's trip much easier.

Thank you so much for staying with us in the Moose Cabin. It was wonderful having you as our guests.
It was only a one-night stay but the Moose Cabin was just perfect - exceptionally clean, quiet, comfortable, and all amenities as promised. The cabin definitely exceeded our expectations. It's obvious the owner takes great pride in this vacation rental based on the well maintained condition of the property. Thanks for a great stay! We would not hesitate to book again and look forward to a future stay!

Very pleasant
Property was acceptable although showing a bit of wear. Would be great for a stag group of four since there were only single beds.

Thank you for staying with us in the Moose Cabin. This summer, just prior to this stay, our maintenance crew was able grind and sand the logs on the outside of the building, add new chinking at the log joints and then apply a fresh coat of log stain plus UV protection. That job, plus a new BBQ deck plank floor and handrails gave the outside of Moose Cabin a fresh, new-building look. See photos of the "Moose Cabin BBQ Deck" posted June 14 on our Facebook page. We plan to put a new floor covering (vinyl and carpet) on the inside of the building this fall and with that the Moose Cabin will be better than new. Moose Cabin is a favorite of many of our guests (singles and couples) because of the comfort, privacy and unique Alaskan atmosphere it offers.
Kitchen was very well stocked and large fridge. Temperature was adjustable. Nice back outdoor patio. Comfortable beds but all single beds.
Cons: WIFI was slow and water pressure low and water not very hot.

Glad you enjoyed the Moose Cabin. This is a cozy, comfortable building and is great for one person or a group of four. Perfect for a group of 4 guys (or gals) on a fishing trip, or for a small family.
Sorry about the Wi-Fi speed. We have the highest speed that is offered in our area of Alaska, but I know that it is slow compared to what is available in the larger cities. Just a little sacrifice we make in exchange for the clean air and fantastic scenery around the Moose Cabin.
Our quality-tested well water is delivered at a lower pressure than you may be accustomed to from a municipal system. But it is pressure regulated using a commercial pressure switch designed for this service. We use a lower-range pressure switch that conserves energy and reduces well pump run frequency – a “green thing”.
And finally, the hot water temperature is set perhaps a little lower than what you might have in your home. This is done to protect children who stay in our buildings. We set the temperature based on safety guidelines that consider both water quality and scalding hazard - so not too hot but not to cool.
Thank you again. John
My wife and I loved this cabin. It's fit our idea of Alaska perfectly and delivered! It's close enough to Homer to visit as often as you'd like but has a nice remote feel to it. The cabin is very well stocked and includes everything you'd need for your Alaskan adventure. John was great to chat with and more than helpful to us.
We loved it! This goes down as the current leader on our epic adventures! Float planes, fishing, bears and a beautiful remote Alaskan cabin?! What else would you ever need?!

Thank you for staying with us in the Moose Cabin and for your wonderful comments. We are grateful to have such fantastic guests who enjoy our lodging and the great state of Alaska. Hope to see you back soon.
I wish 10 stars were a option. The cabin and property is absolutely amazing. Upon arrival the cabin was clean and spotless. The cabinets and refrigerator were stocked with a few needed idems that really came in handy. They are for you to use as needed, and just ask that you replace what you use with similar idems for the next guest. Cabin is rustic, roomy and very neatly built. It is perfectly secluded in the woods, giving you peaceful, quiet privacy for your stay. We never saw another person, but assistance would be right there if needed! The grill on the back deck is a life saver! We used it almost every night. It is conveniently located right off the highway and a very reasonable distance from Homer and Soldotna for activities.

This spot was perfect for our group of 3 but had plenty of room to add a fourth if needed. A short 1/2 hour drive to Homer. Very quiet and well maintained. We will definitely look to stay here again if/when we return!

Perfect stay for my wife and I
We chose this rental at the last minute due to an issue at another rental home and could not have been happier with our decision. The rental is very clean and cozy and in a great location. Close drive to Homer but what we really enjoyed was the beach area at Anchor Point. Tons of bald eagles and amazing views. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Alaska.

Great GetAWAY!
We did a family weekend getaway with my daughter visiting from Texas. It was great. The accommodations were clean, neat and well kept. We loved the warmth of the heater after a chilly day on the water. The perfect stay for an after fishing day!

Wonderful Awesome comfortable stay
My husband and I stayed for 5 days and loved every minute of the stay. So comfortable and all you need to cook and plan for your meals is right there. Beauty is all around you and the owners are very nice they were anxious to please you. The cabinets were even stocked with spices which made it nice for cooking there. We will return to Bear Paw to relive a great time. The Furniture was mostly made by the owners and his family. It is a great place to stay when in Alaska. There are so many things to do by just taking a short drive in most any direction.

In addition to operating Bear Paw Adventure, the family has interests & hobbies that include hunting & fishing, camping, hiking, boating, wildlife viewing, birding, gardening, log work (both log building construction and log furniture making), photography, geology, the environment, hunting for gold, snowmobiling, traveling Alaska, art, collecting (coins, rocks, stamps, fossils, etc), Alaska Native culture, and just about anything else associated with the outdoors or Alaska. Bear Paw Adventure engages in environmentally conscious cleaning practices and is a member of Adventure Green Alaska.
Why they chose this property
Bear Paw Adventure’s unique log buildings are situated on 14+ acres of an old homestead site. This use of the property is the first since the homestead days. We have attempted to keep the site, to the extent practical, as we found it. Evidence of the homestead activities can still be seen on the land. The slope of the land protects the property, to some extent, from the brisk winds off Cook Inlet. It is a nearly wild site with lots of spruce trees, alders and wildflower and a great place to watch for moose, eagles, ravens and other wildlife.
What makes this property unique
The 14+ acre property offers are a great sample of real rural Alaska and the full-scribed log buildings with their Alaskan decor provide interesting and comfortable one-of-a-kind lodging. The busy tourism centers in nearby communities are within easy reach so that guests can enjoy those activities and then retreat their own private Alaska at Bear Paw Adventure. For those who come to Alaska to enjoy nature, this is the place to stay. Bear Paw Adventure offers uniquely Alaskan, first class lodging, located right on top of Alaska’s best fishing, exciting adventures and fantastic scenery. This 14+ acre homestead property is near historic Anchor Point, Gateway to Kachemak Bay, on the west side of the Kenai Peninsula – a 4-1/2 hour drive from Anchorage. The busy tourist centers of Kenai and Homer are minutes away for you to enjoy and then return to this quiet Alaskan environment. Moose, eagles, and ravens are frequently seen among the spruce trees, alders and wildflowers on this homestead that has been kept as wild and natural as possible.
