The most wonderful house we have ever stayed in our holidays.
A wonderful old house, renovated up to modern standard and decorated with much love. Two balconies and one terrace face the harbor. It´s situated in a silent street but only 5 minutes to walk to the city centre with lovely cafés and restaurants. Our children (13,16) were as enthusiastic as us. The owner left us 'Cornish Tea' and 'Shortbread' as a welcome present.
We walked along the coastal footpath to Glendurgan Gardens (4h), visited the castle in Falmouth and spent lovely times on the 'Halyle Sands' beach.
We're looking forward to come back next holidays.

So happy you enjoyed your holiday in Falmouth and your stay at Falmouth View. You and your family have been great guests and I look forward to welcoming you back any time.
Very clean, lovely walk in shower, comfortable bed, quiet neighborhood, well equipped, fabulous views, convenient private parking, handy for town. Fantastic all round experience.
We had a great week in Falmouth, having good weather always helps.
The Falmouth View cottage is an exceptional property, probably one of the best we have ever used. Having never visited or stayed in Falmouth before, I cant say the best in the Town, but the property would have to exceptional to beat this.
Our host Helena was very helpful, when needed, she was there to help. Not that we need much help as everything was to hand. We had the choice of two parking spaces which was good because my car is a bit on the large size.
Falmouth is one of those town where you are either going up a hill or down one. The cottage location is probably not right if you have any health issues (the Jacobs ladder steps are like the north face of Everest, only went up once and swore never again. However, there are other less strenuous options)
I strongly recommend this property to anyone looking for comfortable accommodation, with great views and a town with loads of Drinking and Eating options.

Thank you Paul for your fair and honest review. I am so happy you liked the house and enjoyed your stay.
Couldn’t recommend this place any more. Helena was so helpful & was always available to assist.
The home was lovely & the view from the balcony was exceptional. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again....
Helena has been amazing in my time of need for accommodation during this odd time!!
The property was amazing! Such a great location and beautiful views. I had to come here during the lockdown for work and I was thankful to have such a beautiful place to be isolated in. Helena was so helpful as my crew and I had no where else to stay. Hopefully one day I will be able to return for an actual holiday and would definitely stay here again!!

Good in parts
It's the view of Falmouth Harbour from the balconies of this house that make it special. Other than that it was mediocre, and it's very misleading to advertise it as being suitable for four adults; there's a standard double bed in one bedroom, and a 4 ft 'occasional' double in the other. The house was clean and the kitchen was generally well-equipped, but avoid it if you're elderly or infirm - the staircases are steep and narrow, and there's nowhere comfortable to sit: the worn out settee and armchair in the sitting room are too low, and the chairs on the balconies are very basic folding chairs.
Parking was a nightmare. The house is in a narrow street with double yellow lines, where parking outside even to unload or load the car is out of the question. It was a matter of driving round and round the surrounding streets of tightly packed terraced houses to find a parking space. However, it's only a 5-minute walk into the town centre (provided you can manage the hills and steps).
That's the nature of the house's position and obviously outside the owner's control, but the comfort of the house could be improved by investing in a decent settee and a proper double bed.

Thank you for your review. Reviews are alway welcome to help make improvements and make sure my listing description is accurate. However very sorry and disappointed that your stay wasn't everything you expected.
My listing already states the bed sizes. Top floor - Standard double, lower ground floor - small double 4ft.
It also states that it is not suitable for children due to steep stairs. I will change the wording to include people with mobility issues.
The sofa and seating in the living room is certainly not dilapidated but I do agree it is on the low side so will change them as soon as possible.
With regards to parking. My listing clearly stated at the time of your booking that Falmouth Council had not yet allocated me a residents parking permit. They now have and I have updated my listing. It is regrettable that it was not in place at the time of your stay.

About the host
Hosted by Helena Beard
Hi I live with my husband Nick in Newbury. We have two grown up children who have finished university and have now left home. Our son studied at Falmouth University and because of this we got to know Falmouth and love it. When we want a short break away from our busy lives we love to spend time there. Falmouth is a wonderful place to visit for couples, single people and families alike. Young and old there is something for everyone. We love to travel and experience different countries and cultures and hardly ever chose to stay in hotels unless travelling with business but prefer self-catering as we feel we get a better feeling for the places we visit. When I am not working, apart from travelling I love property refurbishing, interior design, furniture upholstery, gardening and yoga.
Why they chose this property
