Languages: German and English About the House and Hosts: I completed the “Vogel-Haus” (as the house is popularly known) in 1995 after many years of permitting and construction. The timeless design, featuring natural materials, is both appealing and sustainable inside, while the exterior is clad in natural wood siding with a weathered patina. Architecture enthusiasts will delight in the many small details throughout the house, and Dorothea’s nature paintings contribute to a sense of rest and relaxation. Nature lovers and dog owners especially appreciate the tranquility and proximity to the forest.Even back in the 1990s, as an architect, ecological and sustainable construction was important to me. The exposed Liapor (volcanic rock) masonry, solid wood floorboards and door frames, LED lighting, and a toilet flushed with rainwater are just a few examples. Our holiday rental is LGBTQ+ friendly.
