About this property

The ULTIMATE group & family getaway! Pool, lake, tons of sports and NEW kitchen

This is an amazing property in a prime Paradise Valley location with a newly remodeled kitchen and new wood floors. Plus we just added a pickleball court!
The property boasts a catfish filled lake, running stream, bocce ball court, koi pond, 2 waterfalls, basketball court, volleyball court, pool table, giant 60-inch TV, work-out room, sparkling pool, plus we just added a pickleball court! As of September 1, 2021 we have installed a newly remodeled kitchen and stove (photos to follow).
It's a 5BR (READ ROOM LAYOUT BELOW), 4½BA home with old southwest charm and gorgeous views. All of these amenities are EXCLUSIVE to the home, single tenant, and owners. They are NOT part of a neighborhood community.
Please note, we do NOT host gatherings on property over 50 people due to restrictions in the neighborhood. Smaller family gatherings with no loud amplified music are allowed with permission and additional fees for clean up and usage.

This is a 1960's ranch home. Remodeled kitchen has stainless steel appliances, new 5-burner gas stove, granite tile counter tops, large center island & custom cabinets. The family room boasts a pool table and 60 inch TV. The California king bed and queen beds are from the highly breathable Purple Mattress company (my favorite!) and amazingly comfortable. Our 4th bedroom has two twin beds and 5th bedroom has a full bed. Home has a total of 6 beds with the option of adding an air mattress in the family room if needed.

The home has wood floors, satillo tile, and carpet in one bedroom. The master bedroom doors open out to the lush grounds & sparkling salt water pool. All bathrooms have been remodeled with travertine floors. The laundry area is complete with front loading washer and dryer. And yes, unlike other short term rentals, you are WELCOME to use our washer and dryer, which is stocked with detergent.

The back half of the property has a lake, Lilly lined stream, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court, ping pong table, citrus trees, bocce ball, koi pond, and catfish filled lake. This is a cozy and inviting home in the most amazingly tranquil setting.

Clete, is our on-site manager who lives on property in the detached guest house. He will be available when you check in to help get you acquainted to the property. Please note that he lives on property as well and takes care of the two dogs. He stays to himself during guest stays and lives behind a screen

Tennis court: Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm-10pm and Saturday from 9am-1pm the tennis court is reserved for the co-owner. The tennis players use the tennis court and pavilion adjacent to the court which is located at the far north end of the 5 acre lot away from the main home.

You will have access to the pool, front lawn, entire home, backyard including tennis court, basketball court and bocce ball court as well as the area around the lake and koi pond. The pool has a grill and gazebo area for relaxing as well.

The house manager, Clete, will help you when you arrive. He is a permanent tenant who lives on property in the detached guest house and can help answer questions you may have. Clete stays to himself during the stay of our guests to ensure your privacy. There are also two very mellow dogs who live with him. They may be out of site during your stay but feel free to request their company if you would prefer them around.

The pool can be heated for an additional $75/day. We would need to know at least two days in advance to begin heating the pool.

Please note that weekends from October-April require a minimum 4 night stay.

In the Summer months, (June-mid September) the furniture around the lake and fire pit is put into storage for protection from the excessive summer heat.

This places ROCKS!

The house is extremely well stocked from spices, coffee, pots and pans to popcorn! The grounds are unbelievable. You feel like you have your own resort with a pool, volleyball court, fishing pond, tennis court, basketball court and so many fun places to sit and enjoy. Will definitely go back!

What a great stay, I didn't want to leave. However I'm a bit biased due to my affinity for Arizona in general, but this house was absolutely amazing. The homeowner was quick to respond to questions/concerns regarding the property and Clete was always available if needed. The property including the pool are well maintained with routine service. You definitely get an oasis feel when you are staying here. Would highly recommend!

Peaceful and Beautiful

We loved it - could not have been better - might be good to add DVD player and crock pot to small appliances for renters to use but other than that this was a wonderful respite for us - we would have loved to have been able to stay longer - teens enjoyed weight room, pool and bicycles while I was at Mayo for testing and treatment. Over the Moon property!

An amazing location with everything one could possibly need...want! Property owner and property manager were both easily accessible and more than accommodating, making the booking process and stay easy and enjoyable! Stayed for a quick 4 days and wishing we had more time to simply take in and enjoy all this property has to offer! The listing is accurate however the pictures do not do it justice! Everything from the pool to the tennis courts to the basketball court etc are pristine, fully equipped and ready to use day or night! Bring the extended family and enjoy!! Highly recommend!

Enjoyable stay in Scottsdale

We and another family stayed at this property for 5 days. It was a true oasis in the desert. It was lush and green and the outdoor space was stunning and magnificent! It was so refreshing to see our kids play outdoors with all the activities available at this property (fishing, swimming, volleyball, tennis, ping pong, hiking, etc). Hollye and Clete were very receptive to our needs. The house was well maintained and had many amenities that made our stay seemless and enjoyable. Property is very close to shopping , Camelback mountain, and stores/restaurants. Would highly recommend for families.

The answer I look for in reviews is whether the person would go back. I won't. But it is a great location and lovely grounds. There is a caretaker living on site. With his two dogs. We like dogs and these were cute. The caretaker was very responsive. Nice fellow. Also, the owners are often on site, as well as other people who identified themselves as 'working for the owner'. The caretaker advised that he and the owners had discussed that we were the quietest guests ever. Not calling or emailing the owner. ( We did call the caretaker once as the pool was not heated, although we had paid the additional money sought for the heating. ) We did not call the owner, as we wanted a private family vacation. We did not want to interact with the owners. That is what we paid for. It is not necessarily exactly what we got. If you are ok with the 'owners' and their 'workers' coming and going while you are in residence, then the grounds will make this a great spot for you. The grounds are very well maintained. The sports activities were great when we had them to ourselves. I would recommend this for a one day/weekend sporty corporate retreat or maybe a wedding. It is a beautiful setting, particularly when the owners' workers are not loudly chatting on their phones and applauding basketball shots being made by my kids. There is some beautiful art and the piano was well tuned. The indoor furnishings are otherwise mostly as shown in the pictures. The living room appears to be thrown together from estate sales or left overs from other homes. Comfortable, but mismatched and a bit tired. They were in contrast to the tennis pavilion and sports areas, which are lovely and clearly well maintained. Great location.

Not what we were hoping for

We were drawn to this house by the beautiful pictures of the grounds. We were disappointed in the house when we got there. The bedrooms and bathrooms were tired and there were cleanliness issues (a dirty tissue and q-tip in a cabinet, mold on the counters and sinks, soap scum in the showers, stains on the toilet, stains on a comforter). There were enough things that we were uncomfortable. We were going to stay anyway until there were some issues with flies (there was no fly swatter and the vacuum was so clogged there was no suction so we had no way to get rid of them) and there was a large cockroach in the main bathroom. My parents left after seeing the cockroach. We were in communication with the owner and property manager (we expected him to be there but it was obvious he was not around that night) and they were responsive and said they would work on getting pest control and housekeeping scheduled. My husband and I stayed the first night because we figured it was too late to do anything else. The next day the owner contacted us and offered to refund us for any unused nights if we wanted to leave. This was a HUGE relief and we were so appreciative that they were willing to do that. We ended up getting out of the house before checkout time thinking we would get 6 of the 7 nights refunded. Unfortunately that is not the end of the story. Not long after we left, the owner asked for pictures detailing the issues we had described with the cleanliness. We sent 10-15 photos showing all of the things we noticed. She then started saying things like she had assumed there was more trash than what the pictures showed (this really bothered me because especially in the times we are living in now, there is no acceptable level of trash). They also said they found no flies in the house and asked if they were gnats instead of flies which they were not. It was clear that they were downplaying the issues we had and it was insulting. The owner then said we needed to cancel our stay in the VRBO app in order for us to be refunded. We tried several times and could find no way to do this. After some back and forth the owner was able to cancel for us but it was after check out time that day so they dropped our refund to 5 days instead of 6. Overall, the grounds are beautiful and some of the house has been updated but the cleanliness issues and stressful back and forth with the owner ruined a lot of our trip and was enough for us to stay away from VRBOs in the future

Making Memories

This experience was wonderful. We rented the property with our 7 adult children/spouses. Everyone had an amazing time. We cooked, played outdoor activities and relaxed. So many memories made! Our family plans to rent the property again and again. GREAT LOCATION. So much to do on the property! Kitchen had all the tools and supplies to make meals for our crew. LOVED this VRBO experience.

Hidden Gem

The house is spacious and comfortable. Great beds, nicely equipped kitchen...basically everything you need for a couple of days or couple of weeks. Fantastic location! less than 5 minutes to Fashion Square, Old Town Scottsdale, multiple golf courses, and many great restaurants and night life. And the biggest surprise of all...the backyard! It was like having our own private park. Basketball, tennis, volleyball, bocce, billiards, ping pong, swimming, ponds, wildlife, and gorgeous manicured, landscaping. We spent most of our time outside. Simply amazing! This is a great place to bring your family!

Playground in Paradise Valley

This property was exactly what we had hoped for. The yard is a park with just about anything you could ask for. Great tennis court, pond, beach volleyball, basketball, and always the pool! I only left the house twice in a week's stay, once to climb nearby Camelback and once to visit the store. Our grandkids were in heaven! Thank you Hollye for sharing your place with us. And thanks to Clete for fine tuning the pool temperature, always being available, and cooking up a great taco bar on our last night. Huge memories were made on this visit.

Truly an oasis

The grounds of this property are outstanding. We enjoyed each feature from the swimming pool, volleyball and basketball courts, tennis court, fishing pond and viewing the koi pond with our adult children and grandchildren. Hollye was very communicative and Clete, the on-site property manager was helpful when needed. Location is great. Others have said you never have to leave and they are correct.

Family paradise

A few comments about the quality of the people you are dealing with.We headed down for a 2 week stay with kids and grand kids. One of my grandchildren got very sick so we were delayed arriving by 2 days. The owners refunded the 2 days without even being asked. Then corona hit and we had to leave after 5 days. Again a full refund no questions asked even though the cancellation policy did not require them to do so. You don’t get better people than this. Now the house. Location is perfect. Close to the camelback trail head and a short drive to old town scottsdale and all the amenities and fun scottsdale and Phoenix have to offer. The house is a little old school Arizona . Not to say it is not nice , it is . Big rambling home with big bedrooms , comfy beds, great areas for kids and adults to separate and relax. Nice , well equipped kitchen and dining area. The best is the outdoors . Absolutely spectacular. Beautifully kept. Fruit laden orange trees.perfect warm pool the kids never got out of. Tennis , basketball, bocce ,table tennis, beach volleyball. Endless fun for families. Beautiful outdoor seating and eating areas . I can’t say enough about this place and we will be back.

Great property with a ton of activities including pool table, pool, tennis, basketball, table tennis, bocce ball, etc. This is a great place to host a big group of people and have something for everyone to do. We grilled out and hung out by the fire pit which was a great hangout. Will come back again for sure.

Paradise indeed!

I really cannot say enough good about this property. Our group of six enjoyed the house and grounds for a golf trip among good friends. We played all of the sports in the "athletic complex" in the back yard every day. Our favorite times, though, were just sitting by the gas fire pit or wading in the heated pool. Having Clete on-site to help out was a great part of this as he was very responsive to our requests for turning on court lights, etc. Our only request for an addition some day would be to have lights for the volleyball court as it was dark by 5:30 PM this time of year. We plan to return here every year to enjoy this amazing home and property.

Greenery in the Desert!

Beautiful location with lots of lush greenery and scenic views right in the backyard! Plenty of space for hanging out and playing games. There truly is no need to leave the property unless you want to because there is plenty to explore and do. Hollye was great about answering all of my questions quickly, and she even helped me fulfill a couple of detailed requests about the property! She went above and beyond!

My husband and I moved to Park City by way of Austin, Scottsdale and Venice Beach. Will is originally from Alaska and I am from Phoenix. We are both visual artists. I am a professional photographer and Will is a visual effects artist working in the movie industry. We have rented from VRBO for our own personal travel and are excited for the opportunity to give back to the traveler community and allow other guests to stay at our home.

My father is the co-owner and is the one who plays tennis on the court three days a week. You'll see him and his crew on the court if you're staying at the home. Feel free to say hi if you see him on the court. He's very welcoming and love to chat with guests.
