Uncomfortable dealing with owner
Condo was nice and good location for Disney. Property was originally found during “pet friendly” search. Owner replied that it wasn’t actually pet friendly, but since our dog was a poodle, she would add a pet fee and rent to us. We agreed and gladly paid the fee. On our second or third night she sent me a message stating that she had a complaint about our dog barking early (we left early for parks and dog was in crate- seems he carried on and woke neighbors dog). We immediately made sure someone stayed back with dog and changed his location when we did leave. We most certainly did not want to be a nuisance. No more problems with barking after that. My issue was that she accused us of not letting her know up front that we had a dog and of not paying the pet fee! All of our communications are saved in the VRBO thread as well as our payment receipt identifying the separate pet fee, so this was ludicrous and offensive. (Please do not deny or I will copy and post). I guess the complaint made her freak out, but next time I hope she will go back and check before accusing a guest of this type of thing.
AC did not work upon arrival and it was 81 degrees in unit. Owner got me in touch with husband who figured out batteries in thermostat had gone dead (never heard of battery operated thermostat). No batteries in unit so he suggested I go to corner store and buy some and replace. Ended up using tv remote batteries. Probably good idea to keep these handy. Took a good while to cool down condo.
Awaiting refund of damage deposit. Took video of entire unit at checkout to ensure no confusion.
