The cabin was the perfect secluded get away for 2. Comfy bed, spacious jacuzzi tub, peaceful front porch. We enjoyed being within an hours drive of so many state parks, springs, and hiking trails. The host was very helpful.
We stayed in long x cabin and friends stayed in hunters and we both loved it! It was exactly what we needed and more…clean, well decorated, cool on hot days, everything you need for a weekend or longer stay in the wilderness.
The only problem we had was arriving at night and not being able to see…it would be great if there were arrows or SOMETHING that pointed in the direction at entrance off 49 and again at driveways or “roads” to each cabin
Other than that it was great and we will be staying again
That’s what I went for, and that’s what I got. The cabin was beautiful and was stocked with anything anyone could need. The land is peaceful and beautiful. I would definitely go back!
This is a very, lovely, peaceful cabin in the woods. We enjoyed the large deck, fireplace and the quietness of the surrounding woods. We took a walk around the property and to the creek enjoying nature and even saw a white tailed deer. We are already talking about coming back. Alison and Jason were very gracious and attentive hosts.
Everything was perfect & just what I needed for the peaceful, quiet Christmas I'd hoped for. I plan to make Fair Winds my go to holiday stay when I can get away.
This was a great weekend trip. The cabin was clean, and had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. The property was amazing and peaceful. Our dog had a great time exploring.
My wife and I stayed at the Hunter's Run cabin with our pup Chloé. We wanted to get away from the corporate rat race, and had never been to Missouri before. The cabin seems fairly new and has everything one would want for a short stay. We wanted seclusion, and the property has that in spades...we did not have any cell service unless we went to neighboring Steeltown, so plan your routes beforehand or go old school and bring a map. We enjoyed grilling, the firepit, and hiking around the property. We all had a great time.
My gf had cell service. I did not. The maps were on in my email and I could not retreive them. I got lost and had to have my gf phone the hostess. She was supper nice in getting us to our cabin. Still, make sure your maps are accessible if you lose service. Abosolutely will go again.
The property is rustic gorgeous! We fell in love with the quaint cottage! We definitely would love to stay again in the Fall! We visited the nearby town for afternoon coffee and then had a na beer on the deck establishment. Had fun time!
Pulling into the property set the tone of peace and tranquility for our four-day stay. The quaint cabin was perfect in every aspect. The cabin vibe matched the outdoor vibe that the property offered us. We could soak in the woods and the creek while walking around the property.
Our communication with Alison was above and beyond expectations. We were having difficulty with our VRBO app, and Alison took away any stressors that may have occurred. Essentially, this set the tone for us to have a superb break away from the everyday hustle and bustle.
Like the many other guests, we will be back to that cabin woodland soon!
This is the perfect place if you are needing to get away from it all. This is quite literally a cabin in the woods. It was very quiet, private and cozy. The cabin is nothing fancy, but met all of our needs. There are a handful of other cabins on the property, but they are not within sight of each other. The cabin was clean and comfortable. And, the check in/out process was as simple as it can get. I would definitely recommend this property if you are needing a quiet getaway from it all.
Hunter's Run is so cozy, and beautiful, with a huge rock fireplace and a huge jacuzzi tub. It's was the perfect setting for our Christmas getaway! We will definitely stay here again.
We had a very secluded long weekend. The only issue was wasps getting in and the wind and rain knocked the power out for a few hours. Other than that great stay.
It was a great stay, exactly what we needed . We really enjoyed having the furthest back cabin from the other properties it was so quiet.
Make sure you grab food before hand, the country mart in Steeleville leaves much to be desired
Property is very private. This was a big plus for us as most places we have stayed at in this area are bustling with activity, late night partying, etc. It was so quiet here and we were permitted to bring our dog so our whole family got to enjoy.
Cabin has an outdoor grill, plenty of porch space and a comfortable layout inside.
There is no cell service out here so be prepared with directions or other information you may need in advance
Very quiet location. Only problem was my cellphone reception. Needed to drive to Steelville to get messages. This was okay but maybe a heads up. My wife thought everyone had cellphone access available. Again this was ok with me but wife thought maybe state something about it. Very good place to unwind and relax.
