Great Location
The cottage is immaculate and has all the amenities you will need for a perfect vacation. This includes cookware, kayaks and an outdoor lobster pot cooker.
We spent two days just “chilling” at the cottage. Whether inside or outside, we had a grand 180 degree view.
One of the best things to know about Pleasant Beach is that it is close to Port Clyde and Rockland without the hassle of getting onto a major highway. This is a big plus. There is so much to do and see in this area, a one week stay is just not enough. We spent a day at Port Clyde. The lighthouse has an exceptional collection of documents and pictures if you want to know the history and culture and of the area. We got our seafood from Port Clyde on the way home from a kayak tour. We visited Birch Point Beach State Park which has a large beach, rocks to climb and shaded picnic areas. In addition to going to the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, we explored art galleries along highways 131 and 73.
In Rockland, we had an excellent dinner at Archer’s on the Pier and at Peter Ott’s on the Water in Camden. We also ate at McLoons’s Lobster Shack on Spruce Head island. Great place.
We had a fantastic time in cool Maine. Marc was a great host.
