DEAR FEATHERSTONE GUEST-
As things start to open up here in North Carolina, we are starting to see a lot of interest in our properties -which is great news! One promise that we will make to you is that we will absolutely ensure that each residence will be thoroughly cleaned/sanitized between each booking. Our cleaning team (Rosa and her crew) has done a terrific job over the years keep the places spotless, now they are committed to make sure they are safe so you and your family/friends feel completely safe during your stay at Featherstone.

Featherstone Cottage is a natural choice for couples (and solo travelers) looking for a one of a kind/comfortable/private getaway in Hendersonville, NC while still being close to town and grocery stores. Featuring lots of amenities with a unique, eclectic personality of its own that demonstrates great attention to detail. The cottage served as the quest quarters to the owners 100 year old stone cottage and every effort has been taken to insure comfort for our guests. A short gravel driveway takes you back in time to this peaceful, tranquil setting to relax and enjoy your time away. UPDATE The cottage has gone through an extensive update this past winter (2022)! With a focus on the kitchen and as remolding goes, the entire place had a face lift. We think you’ll enjoy her new “party dress”.

We are located less than 2 miles from historic downtown Hendersonville and roughly 10 miles from Dupont State Forest and other natural attractions.

Perfect getaway

Beautiful scenery. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was wonderful - we used it every night. Chad was friendly and helpful. Such a great place to stay! I can't recommend it enough :)

Another relaxing visit at Featherstone

Went back for our second stay at Featherstone and now looking forward to when we can make our third visit. The online pictures and description are a perfect reflection of our stays. Chad is the perfect host with all the suggestions and information for exploring the Asheville, Hendersonville and western NC mountain area. Cottage equipped with everything anyone could need.....plus lovely outside garden spots to just relax after a day of enjoying WNC.

Unique and perfect!

The is the ideal place to stay in the Asheville area. Close to everything with the plus of feeling like you aren't. Everything you could need has already been thought of by Chad. He is a great host. Perfect vacation spot! If you think it looks awesome on the website pictures wait until you see it in person. You won't be disappointed.

Second stay--as great as the first!!

We were back in Hendersonville for the last weekend of leaf looking (and to stock up on our favorite apples!) and were so pleased that Featherstone was available. We stayed here in May and enjoyed it so much that we shifted our travel time by a day so we could stay here this trip. This is such a great location--perfect for trips in the surrounding area--the Parkway, apples, and perfect for a visit to the awesome Tryon Equestrian Center. We were not disappointed--as before the guesthouse was immaculate, comfortable and just waiting for us to take a deep breath and relax, even though just for a couple of days. We can't wait to come back in the Spring and enjoy Chad's great hospitality.

Hidden, cozy and comfy

Tom and I really loved Featherstone for our NC vacation. Loved the location; easy access to many sites, activities and restaurants around Hendersonville and Asheville. The cabin was cozy, comfortable and had all the amenities one would need for a delightful stay. (The photos show it all). Chad even "loaned" us some wine the night we got there and found the TV channel as we were cheering our KC Royals to victory. The hot tub was a particularly nice touch (super clean, private, under the stars) after days of hiking the gorgeous parks and small towns in the area. Thanks Chad for your charming place and super gracious hosting. Hope to visit again! A special shout out to Cooper who is the "greeter" and a very sweet dog.

Just what we needed

We could not have had a better experience with a VRBO getaway! Featherstone was very welcoming, Chad was accommodating, and Cooper's friendly wag was heartwarming. Chad kindly gave us a chance to settle in before visiting with us, and provided lots of great information about how everything in the cottage works (extremely easy to use!) and was very relaxed, making us feel right at home! He asked us if we had any questions, and thoroughly answered any recommendation requests for restaurants or things to do in and around Hendersonville. AND THE COTTAGE!!! Every single item you MIGHT think you need was there in the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. It was clean, simple, and lovely. Books and pictures lined the walls of the rooms, begging to be picked up and read on the comfortable bed. The bathroom was laid out beautifully, with plenty of places to store our toiletry bag and appliances and the often forgotten items (like soap and hairdryer) were there just in case. The shower was clean, and there was no lack of hot water. The air conditioned home was perfect, but we found we didn't even need the a/c most of the time, because it was cool from the beautifully landscaped, shaded yard. The bird feeder outside of the screened in porch was a nice touch to sit and chat while the birds visited the feeder. There was a nice porch swing just a small walk from the patio, and a large hammock to take a nap in. The private hot tub outside was great, too! Incredibly maintained, there were two reclined seats in it, with jets that massaged our legs and back after hiking around at Dupont State Park and the Carl Sandburg home. Downtown was only 5 minutes away, and even though we didn't go into town but a few times, the small town feel and people were friendly and helpful. Chad also had a nice little putting green and horseshoes on his property, and we enjoyed these well-maintained yard activities in the evening. And though we didn't use it, we were very impressed with the GORGEOUS outdoor fireplace and hidden patio, where he had a grill, relaxing chairs, and fire starter packets ready to go if we wanted to use them. We truly enjoyed this vacation in Hendersonville at Featherstone, and cannot wait to return!

Perfection

It is rare that a rental exceeds expectations, and this one most definitely did. The cottage was perfect for my needs- small but so well-appointed. The fact that Chad welcomes pets made my stay even more enjoyable. The property was quiet and peaceful; I can only imagine how beautiful it will be later in the spring when the flowers have bloomed. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!

Beautiful cottage close to Hendersonville.

My wife and I spent a week at the Featherstone Cottage. The cottage and the property are lovely. It is very quiet, and private, yet you are just minutes from Hendersonville. The owner, Chad, was very attentive to our needs. We will definitely stay here again.

Private getaway

This was my second visit to Featherstone Cottage where my dog and I had a little retreat from the real world. I love that you are out in a country setting but just minutes from downtown or Flat Rock. I thought it was perfect before but the improvements that Chad made this year take it over the top. Great new kitchen.

Picturesque and cozy retreat

I was celebrating a personal transition and wanted to get away on my own retreat. The cottage was perfect for that!! Very comfortable with well appointed and eclectically (and tastefully!) decorated spaces. Loved the screen porch, the views, the quiet setting, and playing with Izzy (the owner’s dog) to boot! Great charming cottage!

Really charming cottage - would stay there again. No issues or problems and enjoyed my stay. Appreciated Netflix etc on the TV. My only critique is that the outside pics of the property are not as charming as the photos. However it was early spring so I know we just had winter. Just something to be aware of! But wouldn’t have impacted my decision to stay.

Perfect Getaway

We simply had a wonderfully relaxing 4 nights at the Featherstone Guest Cottage. Our dog Cooper had a great time chasing tennis balls with Izzy. The cottage is well appointed, very comfortable and It's convenient to everything. We'll definitely be back.

Restful and roomy.

The bedroom is large and the bed is comfortable. In fact, the layout of the entire apartment is charming and extremely well thought out. The rest of the property is also great for visitors. I stayed over Christmas as an overflow location close to my family home. The other buildings for rent on this property have us considering a larger family reunion here. Beautiful location!
