Goose Landing was more peaceful and relaxing than we expected (and we had high hopes). The home is only a few miles from Saranac Lake village but feels much further away on the shores of Kiwassa Lake. This is just right for someone looking to stay on the water with the lake just steps away and a fully equipped kitchen enabling you to stay right here and never leave for your entire stay. I could not think of anything better for a stay in the Adirondacks.
My family and I stayed in Goose Landing for a week and loved every minute! When I was looking for a place to stay in the Adirondacks, I did not want a fancy hotel or resort. I wanted a place that felt like I was staying in a family cottage and that's what Goose Landing was. It was the quintessential Adirondacks cabin with knotty pine, stone fireplace, Oriental rugs, mismatched lamps (in a good way!), a beautiful deck with a view (where I spent hours with coffee/wine/book/games with kids) and THE LAKE! Kiwassa Lake is beautiful-it was quiet, surrounded by trees and had the most beaautiful sunsets. We loved the area of Saranac Lake and Lake Placid-lots of hikes, Olympic history, great restaurants, ice cream, cute stores. But staying at Goose Landing added so much to our Adirondack experience---from the hours on the deck, to swimming in the lake, to fishing and most especially the kayak trips. Just around the bend from the cabin and through a short canal is probably one of the most beatiful views I have seen from a kayak-a lake, surrounded by mountains-and then a little further we actually used the locks to get to another channel. Marjorie, the innkeeper, was a great host and helpful and we loved Piper, the house yellow lab. Thanks for a great stay! We miss it already :)

So happy to hear you had a great Adirondack experience here on Kiwassa Lake!
Thanks for coming.
Excellent place..clean, neat, everything you would need is already there..toaster micro fridge etc.
Great and easy when you contact the owner directly..."vrbo" not easy to navigate and get thru "vrbo" just gets in the way....other than that it was easy and wonderful
We had a great time here. It's a great location to bring your family and unwind. The cabin was very clean upon arrival. It is right on the water. There is a dock and a nice area to swim just feet from the cabin. Fishing was good too. The owners are great people and very accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

About the host
Hosted by Owner/Property Manager
We own several properties in the area and this cabin is one of our favorites. We have lived in the Adirondacks since 1991 but have been part-time residents since the 1960s. We even attended the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid! We can offer suggestions for activities unless you simply want to rest and relax in a cabin.
Why they chose this property
This is the most scenic area in the east! It is an easy place to rest, relax and enjoy life at a slower pace. Kiwassa Lake is an idyllic and quiet lake and most guests return year after year to get away from the hustle and bustle of a faster pace.
Often guests will take in a sighting of our lake loon and its beautiful calls. Other guests have said they have seen eagles, deer, fish jumping, wild types of birds, etc…
