Located 20 miles northeast of Ely, Minnesota, this handcrafted cabin sits on the quiet shoreline of Moose Lake with stunning views into Canada’s Quetico Provincial Park. Unlike most resort cabins, East Wind offers a sense of privacy and space, while still giving guests access to full resort amenities, including boats, canoes, and expert outfitting support.

East Wind is a wonderful option for families looking to share the magic of the Boundary Waters with their children—while still enjoying the comfort and ease of cabin life. With many nearby day trip paddle routes, including the popular Lake One loop, it's an ideal home base for introducing kids to canoe country. Moose Lake is excellent for fishing and swimming; children love jumping off our docks. While we don’t have a pool, the lake provides plenty of fun and refreshment. This cozy summer home features two enclosed bedrooms with queen beds, along with a spacious open loft with full standing headroom and three single beds. East Wind Cabin accommodates up to 7 people. The cabin also includes a full bathroom with shower, a well-equipped kitchen with stove, fridge, oven, microwave, coffee maker, and all basic cookware, plus an open-concept living and dining area with beautiful woodwork and vaulted ceilings. A large screened-in porch faces the lake and is perfect for relaxing, reading, or watching the sunrise over Moose Lake. All linens and blankets are provided, though guests should bring their own towels.

Weekly cabin rentals include a 16 ft. Lund fishing boat with swivel seats. Guests are welcome to bring their own 25 hp motor or smaller, or rent one from the resort for $375 per week or $75 per day. Additional rentals available include depth finders, trolling motors, canoes, and live bait. Guests have full access to the boathouse, dock, and fish cleaning house throughout their stay.

East Wind offers direct access to the BWCA via Moose Lake, allowing guests to paddle or boat straight into one of the most scenic and pristine wilderness areas in the country. Whether you're here to fish for walleye and lake trout, spot loons and eagles from your porch, or simply unplug and reconnect with nature, this cabin is an ideal home base for all your Northwoods adventures.

Starlink WiFi is available in the boathouse, but there is limited WiFi in the cabin—perfect for those looking to unplug. Cell service is limited, though WiFi calling is possible from the boathouse. Pets are welcome, but must be supervised and may not be left alone in the cabin. Smoking is not allowed indoors. Free parking is available for vehicles and trailers.

Cabin is available May through October. Additional local and state taxes not collected through VRBO may be due at check-in. Minimum stay requirements may apply during peak season.
