Great cottage, clean, spacious and well equipped. Perfectly located for access to all areas of the lakes - Windermere, Coniston, Langdale, Grasmere, Ullswater, etc. Would stay again and definitely recommend
just returned from a wonderful 3nt stay in Bowness.
Cottage was amazing, everything you need for a home from home stay.
Location is amazing. Will definitely be returning.
Thankyou.
Location was great right in the middle of all shops restaurants and the lovely lake
The cottage was lovely and very clean had everything we needed, the decor was to my liking lot’s of Laura Ashley, would definitely go back to the same cottage again 😀
A lovely property in central position for exploring Lake Windermere and surrounds - well kept, lots of sockets, deceptively spacious with a full bathroom and small ensuite too (latter with shower/sink only). Although meant to be covid-cleaned we found some old debris/plastic bits within the nest of tables in the sitting room. Also was disappointed that the owner changed the departure time from the 10am in the advert (as at the time of booking) to 9am on a Saturday. Given they are apparently leaving 4 days between bookings so no changeover was expected on the same day, it dampened the experience to be rushing to get two children under 5 packed and put of the house before 9am sharp, especially when we'd booked expecting at least an extra hour. Parking is an issue on all the surrounding roads covered by the permit.
Had a lovely 3 night stay here the location was perfect for a walk into the town and to the lake. Everything we needed was at hand and the property was like home from home with everything we needed.
We enjoyed the stay at Ruskin cottage during October half term. The house is very clean and nicely decorated. It’s not huge but surprisingly spacious.
There are so many restaurants and shops in walking distance. Just one negative point is a parking. We couldn’t park the car on the road where the house located at all.
Great place to stay.
Cosy clean and convenient!
Nice owners who were incredibly helpful and answered all questions.
Especially with pur baby it was home from home and the beds were so comfortable.
Thank you so much.
The cottage and amenities met every one of our needs for visiting family and friends. The location was ideal for enjoying the Lake District in general with many of the enjoyable villages and fells within walking distance or a short drive away.
We eventually overcame the nuances of establishing a parking place by timing to avoid those who regularly used the street without a permit. However, this did not become a personal inconvenience as other options were available on adjacent streets.
Having stayed at other similar properties, it was also a welcome change to have the benefit of the laundry facilities incorporated and accessible from within the cottage’s kitchen area.
Overall, a great property and locale. Additionally, Adriana was very responsive and available to assist whenever necessary.
Adriana's cottage is really beautiful. The property is clean and you will find everything you need. It is really close to the centre. It gives quick access to the shops, restaurants, and pubs, and to the piers if you want to enjoy a cruise on the lake. My family and I had a very good time in there for 10 nights. The only problem I can mention is the difficulty to park in the street or around. I highly recommend this place!
Beautiful cottage in the heart of Bowness, Perfect location to explore Bowness and the lakes.
Just a short walk down the hill to the centre of everything.
Everything you need in the cottage, a home away from home.
I would definitely recommend this wonderful cottage to anyone who is looking at booking, you will not be disappointed, we will be back
Thank you for everything
A very enjoyable stay at Ruskin Cottage, Bowness on Windermere
When arriving in Bowness on Windermere we found Ruskin Cottage exactly as Mrs Gregory's directions. We were delighted with the cottage as it was very fresh and clean with all the amenities required. It is so central to the shops, bars, restaurants and pubs, the cinema is literally a two minute walk away and the beautiful pier is about a five minute walk away. The cottage has lots of leaflets showing the many walks around Bowness, games should it be wet weather for adults and children, CD's and DVD's etc etc. All in all, a fantastic place to stay and we will definitely be back to stay in Ruskin Cottage again within the next couple of years. We thoroughly recommend it. Thank you to the Gregory's for a wonderful week.
Lovely cottage, very spacious and beautifully decorated.
Had everything we needed and very comfortable beds.
Great location, short walk down to the lake and very close to cafes and restaurants.
Only thing we had trouble with was parking, perhaps just because it was a bank-holiday weekend. There is a permit for 1 car (on-street), however this was full for our entire stay. We had to park in the paid parking across the street (<100m walk) which cost ~15 pounds for 3 days.
Would certainly come back and would highly recommend.

Lovely little cottage in the heart or Bowness
We had a lovely stay at Ruskin Cottage. It is in a brilliant location within walking distance of the town centre which has numerous restaurants and shops and boats which take you all around the lake. The house itself was very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were clean. The only additional thing that would have been nice would have been some games/books for the children.

Fantastic
We had a wonderful time! The cottage was just what we hoped for! Super clean and cozy! The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we possibly could need! There are games and puzzles available for rainy days and a variety of books!
The cottage is close to everything, right in the middle of Bowness, but very quiet at night!
Adriana is a great host, who responds immediately to answer questions! Great place! Would definitely recommend!

Perfect location
We were very lucky, as when we arrived, the builders who had been working next door, pulled down their scaffolding and went away! The cottage is in a perfect location for walking down the hill to Bowness, or up the hill to Windermere. There are great cafes and restaurants a very short walk away. The on-street parking with a permit works really well. The cottage is very comfortable, with lovely decor and great quality beds and bedding. It is very well equipped and the roomy laundry room was much appreciated. We think it should be made clear that although there is an ensuite to the main bedroom, it has only a shower and handbasin, no loo.

A week on a building site
We were not happy when we arrived at the cottage to find building work in progress to the attached cottage. The building work involved scaffolding to the front and rear of the property with ladder access from outside our lounge window and the bedroom window at the front and The kitchen window and dining room windows at the rear. Builders were using the access which meant we had to keep blinds down if we wanted any privacy at all. The cottage is marketed as romantic, Which influenced our choice to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Hardly romantic. Very noisy and no privacy. We are taking this up with home away and the owner. In our opinion this cottage should not have been let and we should have been informed of the building work and given the opportunity to cancel. This was a great pity because the interior of the cottage was beautiful. Well equipped and tastefully decorated. A shame it was spoilt for us

Lovely cottage in a great location for our 4 day break in Bowness
The cottage is really lovely, well equipped and very clean, and is in a great location to explore. I stayed with my friend so there were just 2 of us in the cottage making it very comfortable, the space is very generous. I would stay in the same cottage again. we had the added good fortune of lovely weather, but unfortunately that cant be ordered!
