Charming Beachfront Vacation Home On Crystal Lake: June 27-July 11th available!

This lovingly maintained 4 SEASONS cottage is Waterfront with no road or trail between house and water!! It has a glorious view and private beach on Crystal Lake.

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our seasonal nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!' We have a 7 night min May - Sept (Saturday check in only) and a 3 night min the rest of the year.

The cottage is clean and spacious, sleeps 10 with parking for 3 cars. 4 bedrooms (3 on upper level, 1 on main level), 3 full baths. There is a king bed in each of the large upstairs bedrooms, 4 full size twin beds (2 sets of bunk beds) in the third (upper level) bedroom, and a king bed in the fourth (first floor) bedroom.

Spacious living area/tv nook on the upper level landing, fully equipped kitchen with upgraded appliances, open dining and living rooms with oak floors, stunning hand placed working fieldstone fireplace, excellent views of the lake from nearly every room, & upper balcony. Main floor family room with 42' flat screen TV & DVD, 2 full size couches, desk area, deck outside of family room w/patio furniture, full size hammock and both gas and charcoal grills. Laundry room adjacent to kitchen w/washer and dryer.

The beach and amenities - a beautiful sandy beach area, fire pit and swimming dock are provided, firewood is also provided for the fire pit. Very comfortable Adirondack chairs are beachfront ready for your use. The cottage is located on the south shore of Crystal Lake and faces almost due north. There are no steps to the beach, it is just across the beautiful lawn. There is plenty of room to enjoy the beach, fire pit and play games.

Our property is adjacent to the Betsie Valley Trail. Biking or walking to Beulah is 1.4 miles and to Frankfort is a pleasant 8 miles. We are close to Crystal Mountain Resort & Spa, Frankfort Lighthouse & Beach, Riverside Canoe and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Come and see this and more, there is so much to enjoy. Crystal Lake will tug at your heart. There is a reason our family has had renters who have come every year for 20+ years; this is summer as it was meant to be.

If you are thinking of joining us for fall colors & fishing, Sept/October/November is an amazing time of year here! It is serene and peaceful with so much to enjoy. Things slow down just a bit and our location is ideal for lake or stream fishing. If you prefer to go out on a charter there are plenty to choose from out of Frankfort, only 8 miles away.

Winter fun is another great time to enjoy our lovely cottage! It is located only a few minutes from Crystal Mountain Ski Resort & Spa where the winter fun never ends. Stay with us, close to the fun at a reasonable rate.

A Perfect Place for our Family

The location and the home layout was absolutely perfect for our family - so private and peaceful. The hosts were lovely and check in could not have possibly been easier. The kitchen was very well equipped and the towels were plentiful. The only exception to a flawless stay was that the furniture is slightly broken down in the main living area.

Crystal lake getaway

We had a wonderful week staying with Stephanie and Erik. The house and property are well- appointed, private, and beautiful with easy access to town by car or on the Betsie Valley trail. We felt relaxed and right at home!

Really Nice Time

we had 10 adults ranging from adult to a 3 month old infant (including a 4 yr old and 2, 2 yr olds). We had a very good stay. Stephanie lives next door and came over to introduce herself and let us know that if we had any questions or issues to just call her. She was very responsive and even stopped by half way through or stay to ask how everything was going. Other than that, we didn’t see them and the week was very enjoyable. The location is great for trips to Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and even an alpaca farm. Overall it was a nice time.

Nice cottage for family on Crystal Lake

We had an enjoyable return visit to this cottage on Crystal Lake. It’s good size and located about 20 minutes away from Crystal Mountain, and just a few minutes away from local shops and restaurants. Property owner was very accommodating as well.

Lovely vacation home

This is our 2nd time staying here. Clean, open 1st floor great for hanging out. Beautiful waterfront, Great Lake for swimming. Bedrooms are large and comfortable. Quiet location yet close to downtown for dining and shopping. Hosts are very welcoming and friendly.

Cleanest property with amazing views!

5 stars!!! We have been visiting Northern Michigan properties for 30 years. This is by far the cleanest property we’ve ever stayed in and the most well equipped kitchen. Property was beautiful. Views from living room and kitchen were perfect. Enjoyed the fireplace too.

Great stay on Crystal Lake!

Our 2 families had a great stay at this property on Crystal Lake. It was our first trip to Michigan and I was impressed by the beauty of the lake itself and the peacefulness of the area. The location of the house is perfect- right on the lake with a very large grassy yard area too. Our kids all loved swimming, fishing, and kayaking in the lake as well as playing in the yard. The house was a great size for 2 families with 2 separate living rooms and a large fully equipped kitchen. The owners live in the house next door and were very friendly and hospitable. They even smoked some fish for us that we caught on a fishing charter!

Enjoyed the beach, the grassy area to play and the comfortable great room and cable. The dining chairs were in poor shape and we had to repair them ourselves. 4 bedrooms but only 3 bathrooms. Hard to share one with kids. The firepit was great for s’mores. Overall a good place to stay.

Celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary

We all had a wonderful time. The house was very comfortable. The house provided space and areas to offer privacy for those needing it. Weather was glorious. We walked to town several times, but when we come again I would definitely bring bikes. The hosts, Stephanie and Eric, were so gracious. Thank you again. Hope to be back soon.

Family Time

This was our first time to Crystal Lake and there was so much to explore. The house was clean, comfortable and spacious. The lake in the backyard and the bike trail in the front yard were the highlights. We brought bikes and rode on the bike trail everyday. Tennis courts, playground, coffee shop, restaurants and shops are a short bike ride away. Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and Traverse City were great day trips. Arcadia Bluffs is a golfers paradise and a great place for dinner where you can enjoy views of Lake Michigan. The house was well stocked with everything you need. We had a great time!

Benzie County Getaway

The property is located in a private, quiet area with Crystal Lake right out the backyard. With three couples, we enjoyed the number of beds & baths not normally available in lake homes. The kitchen was very well stocked and we enjoyed cooking several meals while there. Having a second tv available in the second floor sitting room gave the guys a space to watch sports. The bedrooms were spacious and the property was clean and well-maintained. We enjoy the walking trails as we walked into Beulah one day. The fire pit was really nice and we used the indoor wood burning fireplace on those damp, chilly nights. The weather was not super cooperative, but we were able to enjoy our getaway very much. We were close enough to wineries, fishing, lighthouses and shopping but really enjoyed returning to a quiet piece of paradise.

Great location but needs lots of work

This home is a perfect location with plenty of room and all you need for a lake house. However the home needs LOTS of TLC. The refrigerator is dated and has no door shelves left. There are no baking dishes and many of the frying pans need to be replaced. The toaster didn’t work and there were ants all over the kitchen. The upstairs guest shower has little to no pressure and the mixing valve doesn’t work to provide any hot water. The A/C failed but the owners were aggressive about getting it repaired immediately which was nice. This could be a nice home but for $5600/week it should’ve been much better and it needs lots of work.

I have never given a poor review before, but here goes. For this price—there should be sheets that are not so old the elastic doesn’t stretch. Each of us (except in the bunk room) woke in the night tangled in fitted sheets that no longer fit. The poor threads had long ago balled up making the sleeper there may be sand in the bed. The only way to know was to get up and walk to the main light switch for the room. This is because these people hate bedside tables and lamps from what I could gather. That was probably to hide the jail pillows. (Photo attached). Is that blood?????We were greeted on arrival with the “Landlord” next door interrupting our unpacking to give us a list of rules. And to inform us there was one evening we were not permitted to use the fire pit outside-as it is shared and it was their daughter’s birthday. We went out and bought a coffee pot for the week and gave it to my single young adult nephew to keep at the end of the week. Mr. Coffee had seen far better days and took over 40 minutes to brew a pot of coffee that first morning. That’s just too long. Mid day my sisters were swimming and listening to music on a portable speaker. It was not LOUD. We’re 50, loud music is no longer our jam. A little mello 70’s, just loud enough to hear when you are waist deep. Here comes the Landlord. We were informed there are no speakers of any kind permitted at

Amazing location and beautiful property

Our extended family of 10 had an amazing week at this beautiful house. We loved the layout of the property - the waterfront is right across the lawn, so we could easily go back and forth from the house without lugging a lot of stuff. The lake is gorgeous - perfectly clear water and not too cold for swimming. We rented kayaks and stand up paddle boards from Adventure Sports in Beulah and used them every day. One of our favorite things about this location was the bike path right behind the house. It’s a short easy bike ride or walk into Beulah where we enjoyed the shops and restaurants. Or for the more adventurous, the trail goes all the way to the shore of Lake Michigan in Frankfort, which is a fun ride or run. The house was very well equipped; there wasn’t anything we needed that we couldn’t find. We were even pleasantly surprised to find inflatable water tubes and sand toys. We liked that we were dealing directly with the owners when booking, not a property management company. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive to messages. They live next door and came over to say hello when we first arrived. They were in and out of the garage storage area at the house a few times, but mostly we didn’t see them all week. The only negative thing I can say about the house is that the bed pillows were pretty old and flat — you may want to bring your own if you book this place. All in all, highly recommend! We hope we’ll be able to come back someday!

Beautiful view of Crystal Lake

This would be a wonderful house for a family to enjoy with a large lot for lawn games and a spacious, well equipped kitchen. Three of the bedrooms have king size beds which can be difficult to find. The house also sits on the Betsie Valley Trail which is great for biking, walking, and running. It is close to the town of Beulah and Frankfort for shopping, restaurants, and biking/kayaking/paddle board rentals. The house was equipped with some paper products, hand soap and laundry products that aren't always provided at rentals. Wireless and 2 large TVs were also a bonus for rainy days. There are some things needing improvement. There are no bathroom mats on the floor, no reading lamps in the main living area, and no ceiling fans in the upper bedrooms which made it stuffy up there even on cooler days. No beach chairs are provided, so you have to bring your own or drag the 2 wooden Adirondack chairs down to the lake area. The description lists a dock and fire pit, but it needs to read as a "shared" dock and fire pit, as it is shared between the 2 neighboring homes. This is fine if your group is renting both homes, but this was not the case for us and the neighbors used both of them consistently. It would be helpful to have a folder of the rules and requirements, as we had to keep going to the website and the confirmation emails for information, and the checkout time was confusing-listed as 9:00 a.m in one place and 11:00 a.m. in another. For us, as 3 adult couples, the experience was a 3 1/2 star rating.

Not even remotely luxurious but paid a fortune

Price paid reflected a luxury accommodation . This dump couldn't be further from that. Ancient broken down uncomfortable furniture. Bedding is old, polyester,& not even remotely warm covers. Pillows flat as pancakes. Mold growing in master toilet and skylight in master bedroom. Mattresses cheap & uncomfortable. All the furniture looks like it was garbage picked. High chair was from the 60s or 70s and sticky . Never in my life have I ever encountered mice on a beach until this place! Yard looks like a jungle that hasn't been maintained at all. "Grill" was charcoal & it wasn't supplied. Walls were marked up and looked dirty. Windows absolutely filthy. No Roku, fire stick or other streaming service . Cheap old cd player with 2 cds. 4 books on the book shelf. Magazines on bakers rack were decades old. This place hasn't been updated since it was built. Wobbly cheap faucets. Filthy old shower curtains! Host lives next door & uses the garage in this place to saw & do whatever while you're on site. Doesn't allow cancellation &when I asked to cancel due to health issues and personal tragedy she said she would. Then strung me along for months until announcing her "husband" was the official owner & she couldn't refund me w/o his permission (she's the host on vrbo!) & he said they were under no obligation to refund me at all. Then lied to vrbo about what she said and they believed her. Don't rent from these evil people! They only care about $$$$ for themselves not you!

Without Question the Best VRBO on Crystal Lake!

What a pleasant find on Crystal Lake! Wonderful secluded property on the water w/ a wide, sandy beach. Large grassy backyard w/ pretty white birch trees between house and lake. Interior of the home is very open and spacious w/ nice separation of the bedrooms and bathrooms. Well stocked kitchen w/ all sorts of appliances! Two family gathering areas- one downstairs and one upstairs. Nice primary bedroom retreat w/ lakeside covered porch. Fireplace and outside fire pit. Home sits right on the Betsie Valley Trail- great for walking into Beulah or biking to Frankfort. Extremely gracious hosts Stephanie and Erik. Not sure you can find a genuinely nicer home to rent on all of Crystal Lake!

This property is part of land that has been in the family since the Civil War! We have come up every summer to Crystal Lake and eventually built our own home here on the Family Compound. Our kids have spent their summers here since they were born. It is a magical place where summer can be shared with your loved ones! Our eldest daughter just had her wedding at the lake. Well, it was actually ON the lake as the wedding took place on a platform in the water just off the beach. Maybe you saw the picture on ESPN? It was broadcast during the Little League World Series that our son was playing in for the Taney Dragons. He was transported back to the lake by special permission of the league between games as he was in his sister's wedding. When you come to stay at the Guest House, stop over any time, we are right next door!

Why they chose this property

We live next door! This house belonged to family and when the opportunity arose we stepped up to buy it and keep it in the family. It's a great house. It was built in 1993 by a family member and had one owner until we bought it. We have totally refurnished it and had a lot of fun with upgrading the kitchen and adding fun touches. I hope you love it as much as we do...
