Chalet les Loups is a privately owned Ski Chalet offering self-catered accommodation for up to eight on the fringes of Chatel village in the stunning and extensive Portes du Soleil ski area.

Our aim is to provide you with a luxury home from home environment in which you can relax and enjoy yourselves, whether that be after a hard day on the slopes, or after a relaxing day exploring the area.

The chalet has been designed, decorated and furnished to an exceptional standard. Design is traditional with a contemporary twist. Specially commissioned traditional wooden tables blend effortlessly with with state of the art appliances. Original artwork from three continents complements the designer's colour schemes.

Luxury comes as standard in Chalet Les Loups, from the hand crafted Maple and granite kitchen, TV Room, quality linen and towels are supplied. Le Creuset pans, Neff appliances, Handwash and Moisturiser...a true home from home

We provide you with a welcome basket of provisions to get you started: Quality Wine, Fresh Bread, Butter, Jam, Cereal, Milk, Juice, Crisps, Biscuits, Tea and Fresh Coffee to get your holiday off to the best possible start !

Underfloor heating and a beautiful log fire burner means cold feet are a thing of the past!

From the south facing balconies the views are spectacular, towards the awe inspiring Dents du Midi in one direction, across the Abondance Valley the other. You can never tire of views like these.

Stunning chalet, stunning views..... and of course the skiing. Portes du Soleil, one of the largest ski areas in the world, 650kms of pisted runs. No need to ski the same run twice. Choose from the huge variety of pistes and off-piste above the tree line towards Avoriaz, or the multitude of runs through the trees around Chatel and Chapelle d'Abondance. There is so much to choose from we couldn't begin to do it credit........ And don't forget to check out our Summer offering. The Alps make a stunning base for your next Summer holiday too.

Lovely Chalet on a great location Do need a car tried the bus witch was a disaster Big surprise to receive a big goody basket The fireplace is Great Big bonus in the skiroom to have a drying closet Only the WiFi did not work but that was noted Will recommend the chalet Love to come back !

Excellent week skiing

Lovely week away with friends and family. The chalet was perfect for our group. Lovely big table to eat around and roaring fire. John was very helpful recommending restaurants and replying to messages quickly. The ski area was excellent for all abilities, with lovely restaurants to explore up the mountains. Thank you John.

The stay in the house was pleasant and there is enough space to socialize together and also enough space to have privacy. Good kitchen where everything is sufficiently present, very complete. The living room has a beautiful wood stove and there is plenty of wood outside. Chatel is easily accessible, as are the ski lifts. Public transport is a 5-minute walk away.

In 1 word: Fantastic!!

The chalet is perfect, easy entrance, vary spacious, lots of room for relaxing and a separate room (in the basement) for our teenagers to hang around ;) Fully equipped kitchen, with a great welcome package with wine, champagne (!), tasty snacks, fresh bread. The couches are perfect and the fireplace gives it a (literally) warm atmosphere. John is a fine host and replies immediately when having a question. Thanks a lot for staying, we had a wonderful time.

Perfect!

The chalet was absoltuley delightful and very comfortable. We were there in winter and it has everything you need, even a boot room and boot warmer for ski equipment. The kitchen was very well equipped and everything was spotlessly clean on our arrival. Warm and spacious with underfloor heating and a wood stove. Beds were very comfortable. John was a pleasure to deal with and always quick to respond to any questions we had regarding our booking, including rebooking due to previous Covid restrictions. We had a great Christmas here and Chalet Les Loups is highly recommended!

Optimal for a large family

We were there with 8 people. The house was clean and well organized. The kitchen was very well planned and had many extras. The TV was separate from the livingroom which is good it the kids want a time out. The Ski-cellar allowed dry boots and gloves everymorning. Parking wasn't a problem, also with my T5 Multivan. A Ski bus was free to D'Abonannce, and 2€ to Chatel. The price was very good for the accomadations.

We choose this property to fit the group we were travelling with. On the positives - the house is spacious and there is a lovely welcome basket upon arrival. There are some condiments left over from others in the kitchen. We had no internet or decent tv channels during our stay. New WIFI was not working. Subject TV - Our host told us that 'he never had any complaints about it, sorry'. Description states Sky Satellite in English, however no subscription to channels. As 'luxury' can be relative, here a closer description. The chalet is advertised as designed, decorated and furnished to an exceptional standard with luxury as a standard. 1. The chalet is spacious but a bit unloved. 2. The one double bedroom is in the basement (if you have two families with small children) 3. The showers are small, worn and the water drains badly 4. Having run one full bath, the others had to wait some time for hot water to shower 2. Furnishings; comfortable sofa's which have seen better days and basic beds (no box spring) or extra blankets. 3. State of the art appliances - basic filter coffee machine, normal double oven. kettle and toaster. Nothing else. 5. Fondue set not large enough for a group of 8 6. Kitchen tap has a leak 7. It states quality linen and fluffy towels - probably once, now they're just linen and towels 8. Molton Brown - there was some leftovers in the downstairs toilet, everywhere cheaper alternative Parking at Chatel is 10E/day

Formidable pour de belles vacances en famille

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour dans ce chalet plein de charme, idéalement situé et exposé. Il est très bien équipé (cheminée, armoire chauffante, four, lave-vaisselle,...), très spacieux, joliment décoré et idéal pour passer de beaux moments en famille où chacun dispose également de son propre espace quand il le souhaite. Nos hôtes ont été disponibles et très accueillants. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

Wintersport

We hadden een hele fijne tijd in het super mooie chalet. De communicatie vooraf was heel goed. Bij aankomst stond er een mand met de eerste levensbenodigdheden klaar, de bedden waren opgemaakt en de handdoeken lagen klaar. Dus dat voelde als een warm welkom. We hadden heel mooi weer dus ook volop kunnen genieten van het grote terras. Verder hadden we onze hond mee waarmee we vanuit huis mooi konden wandelen in het dal. De skiërs gingen met de auto naar de linga lift, een kleine 10 min, waar we konden parkeren en een goede toegang tot het hele gebied hadden. We hebben genoten en het is voor herhaling vatbaar.

Erg kompleet en gezellig chalet

Er is aan alles gedacht. Bv aparte bordjes bekertjes en bestek voor kinderen, verwarming voor ski's en schoenen. En zelfs voor vermaak in tijden van slecht weer. We hebben een heerlijke week gehad.

Chalet spacieux, confortable et bien situé

Le chalet est spacieux et confortable, idéal pour 8 personnes. Nous avons passé de belles soirées dans la grande pièce principale autour du poêle. La communication avec le propriétaire était très efficace, et nous avons apprécié le panier de bienvenue et le sapin décoré pour Noël. Le chalet est très bien localisé, à 1km d'un télécabine pour la petite (et jolie) station de Chapelle d'Abondance, reliée au domaine de Chatel. De belles balades sont possibles à pied du chalet. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter!

Nous avons apprécié l équipement intérieur et surtout le séchoir pour chaussures de ski ainsi que le panier de bienvenue. Ptit bémol pas de chaînes françaises sur la TV ni d appareil à raclette mais ce n est si un petit détail...

Séjour très agréable, bel environnement. Chalet très spacieux, bien équipé, tout le confort. Dommage que toutes les explications à l'intérieur du chalet soient en anglais (un peu de français serait le bien venu)et que la télévision ne dispose que de chaînes en anglais. Mise à part cela tout s'est très bien passé.

We love skiing the area inn the winter, generally we drive to Pre la Joux for best access to the enormous ski areas of the Chatel and Avoriaz sectors. In the summer we love to hike and mountain bike.

Why they chose this property

We chose this area as we love the mountains, but wanted a village with real soul. The Abondance valley is principally a farming community and famous for it's cheese. The skiing is amazing with a super reliable snow record and great investment into infrastructure that keeps the slopes in beautiful condition.

What makes this property unique

A detached chalet in a quiet yet convenient location. Twixt Chatel and La Chapelle d' Abondance, close to skiing, convenient for the supermarket. Spacious yet cosy, lovely to eat in, but plenty of choice to eat out.
