Chalet w/modern furnishings - great place to spend time with friends

Chalet Max is a typical alpine style building on the outside. The interior has been fitted out and furnished to give a contemporary feel and provide all comforts of a modern home. The Chalet will provide its guests with a calm and peaceful holiday and is a great base to experience the joys of outdoor life in the Alps. The location is ideal for access to the 'Portes du Soleil' skiing area, one of the largest in Europe, straddling the border between France and Switzerland and offering a wide variety of skiing opportunities, from absolute beginners to adrenaline seekers and off-pisters. In addition there are numerous snowshoe and cross country ski trails which pass the back garden. Summer activities are amazing too: mountain biking, road cycling, walking, white water rafting to name but a few. Alpine food is wonderful and being situated in the Abondance valley, a traditional farming area, copious amounts of delicious local cheeses are readily available to try and to buy.

Excellent week

Lovely property. Plenty big enough for 10 people. Well furnished, warm, easy to use. Very comfortable beds. It was perfect for our group to use as a home for a week of skiing. Had a great time.

(2 winter visits in Feb and April 2015) The first thing that struck us about Chalet Max is how well-appointed, spacious and well-equipped it is; clean, stylish and homely. 10 people were accommodated comfortably with a good ratio of beds to bathrooms, and the garage was ideal for equipment storage. The owners have excellent local knowledge and provide useful recommendations. Chatel is a fantastic place to ski; plenty of skiing for all levels, and great touring. Several excellent nearby restaurants frequented.

Positief: Het huis is ruim genoeg voor 10 personen en ligt op een geweldige locatieom te skiën of wandelen in de winter Het is gezellig ingericht en de bedden slapen prima. We hebben genoten van het mooie uitzicht aan de achterzijde van het huis. Minder prettig was de afwikkeling van een schade aan een spiegel. En de hoeveelheid privé spullen die van de eigenaren aanwezig zijn. Elke lade en kast en onder de bedden zijn gevuld met spullen. Ondanks de genoemde punten raden we het huis aan voor een aangenaam verblijf

séjour en famille à la montagne

Agréable semaine passée en famille avec mes enfants et petits-enfants (10 personnes) dans un chalet très propre et très bien équipé, facile d'accès, à deux pas de sentiers de randonnées. Le cadre est magnifique, inspire la détente et fait qu'on a déjà envie de revenir. Merci pour tout.

Un chalet de qualité

Ce chalet est habité hors périodes de location. Grosse différence : il vit, il a une âme, il est parfaitement sur-équipé d’appareils ménagers. Superbe endroit avec grand jardin.

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine chez Lottie & Mark. Le chalet est super bien équipé et nous n’avons manqué de rien. Toutes les instructions sur place sont claires pour profiter au mieux de la station. De plus Lottie & Mark sont super réactifs en cas de besoin! Encore un grand merci!

Notre séjour dans votre chalet s'est très bien passé... météo superbe, vallée large et bien ensoleillée avec une grande variété de loisirs. Votre chalet est bien agencé pour accueillir 8 personnes: 3 sdb, 3wc, nombreuses clefs des portes extérieures et produits de base à disposition. Cependant, nous aurions apprécié avoir un peu plus de place dans les armoires pour déposer nos affaires personnelles (cuisine, sdb, chambres, garage). Enfin, il nous a semblé que votre chalet pourrait avoir besoin d'une révision de l'entretien (calcaire dans bouilloire, propreté du four et des filtres du lave-vaisselle, nombreux objets sous les lits, poussière sur les meubles et étagères, huiler les charnières des portes pour un usage plus silencieux). Nous avons été surpris que les annotations ménagères et que les divertissements étaient uniquement en anglais (alors que dans le descriptif, il n'en est pas fait mention) et que le paiement se faisait en livre sterling en France. Nous vous partageons ces différents points en toute honnêteté en vue de maintenir votre chalet accueillant et familial pour tous ceux qui y passeront.

Chalet Max was perfect for our party of 6 adults and 4 children. Everything we needed was supplied for us and the owners Mark and Lottie were extremely helpful and accommodating. We would definitely return in the future.

magnifique chalet

Nous avons séjourné 2 semaines dans ce chalet parfait pour profiter de la vallée d'abondance et de toutes les activités à y faire l'été. Localisation idéale. Randonnées magnifiques, escalade, parapente et proximité du lac léman à 40 min . Le chalet est au calme avec la rivière au bout du jardin idéale pour les enfants . parfaitement fonctionnel, il ne manque rien, Très bien aménagé avec gout, confort et modernité par ailleurs. Merci beaucoup! c'était juste parfait!

Toller Aufenthalt als Gruppe

Wir waren im März als größere Gruppe im Chalet Max und hatten eine tolle Zeit. Das Chalet ist super gelegen, zentral am Skigebiet und top ausgestattet. Der Skibus fährt direkt gegenüber ab und ein größerer Supermarkt ist in Laufweite. Die Zimmeraufteilung ist sehr gut gelöst und die Aufenthaltsräume sind wirklich geräumig und für Großgruppen geeignet. Die Küche ist mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war sehr freundlich und problemlos. Wir buchen direkt wieder!

Tolle Unterkunft

Wir waren mit 2 Familien ( 9 Personen) zum Ski fahren im Chalet Max. Das Chalet ist sehr gut ausgestattet, sowohl in der Küche, als auch durch die ausreichenden Schlafzimmer und Bäder. Es gibt viele wertvolle Tipps vor Ort. Das Haus liegt direkt an der Loipe und die Bushaltestelle ist direkt vor der Haustüre. In 5 Minuten Fußweg ist man beim Supermarkt, der alles hat. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!

Beautiful chalet in great location

We've stayed at Chalet Max twice now - once during October when we enjoyed some spectacular hiking, and once in February when we skiied at nearby Chatel and Pré La Joux. The chalet is very comfortable and clean, extremely well equipped, and fabulously located next to a river and just a very short drive from La Chapelle, Chatel, and great ski fields and hikes. The owners are really friendly, generous and helpful. An ideal summer retreat if you like hiking, mountain biking or climbing, and an awesome winter location for snow sports.

Spacious chalet

Chalet Max has plenty of space and is very comfortable. An excellent location - not just for skiing but also for walking and cycling in the mountains. (It's worth cycling up to Col de Bassachoux). Tennis courts are also nearby. So endless options! Thoroughly recommended.

Great accommodation

Lovely, well appointed chalet close to ski lifts and restaurants. Chalet is very spacious and well equipped. Owners extremely helpful and friendly. We loved the location, we used our hire car to get to ski lifts, but bus stop right outside chalet.

High quality accommodation

We've enjoyed two great skiing holidays staying at Chalet Max. Unusually for alpine resort chalets it is extremely well appointed and very comfortable, clean and well maintained - important to our party which includes non-skiers. Two good restaurants are within a 20 minute walk so no one has to forego a glass of wine with dinner. We like the quiet location and the river at the end of the garden. Its also useful that the drive is level so not a danger to grandparents when it snows.

Mark and Lottie built Chalet Max in 2006 and we have been using it for our own holidays, coming at least 6 times a year, in all the school holidays. We love the area and are still discovering the fantastic diverse range of activities at different times of the year.

Why they chose this property

The chalet is situated in the commune of La Pesse, between the small towns of La Chapelle D'Abondance and Chatel both offering ski lifts with access to the whole Portes du Soleil ski area. It is in a quiet spot with a river at the end of the garden, spectacular mountain walks starting from the chalet, tennis courts almost across the road and a good supermarket 5 minutes away!
