About this property

Our Little Island Dream Home with Ferry Included

Before you read about our condo, as many of you may know, our little island was hit big by Hurricane Ian in 2022, and they back to back with Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Our condo is rental ready. It was completely redone. Around the community and the island people are still working on their properties. You will see construction going on at Hideaway but the pool and beach are awaiting you.
Our condo is the perfect place to get away for a week or for a month. Little Gasparilla Island is a private and secluded barrier island. It is only accessible by boat or ferry. There are no roads or traffic on the island. You can walk miles on the white sandy beaches, as you look for shells, sharks teeth or sand dollars. Enjoy nature and catch a glimpse of dolphins, manatees, turtles, pelicans and other wildlife. The beautiful, serene sunsets will take your breath away. Take a dip in our heated community pool or a free ride to the mainland on the ferry. If you have a boat that is 21.5 feet for smaller, then dock it at our community dock slip. There are 33 dock slips on a first come basis.
Our condo is 3 stories high and it's newly renovated with updated bathrooms and kitchen. When you arrive to our unit, you will be on the ground floor. This outdoor living area has comfortable chairs, a dining table with seating for four, 2 ceiling fans and a wireless speaker to enjoy your favorite music. This space is wonderful to enjoy during the day or to relax at night by the soft glow of lights, which surrounds our unit. Enjoy the pretty flowering plants and the variety of orchids, which add to that Florida tropical feel. There is a handy table which folds down, making it convenient to use when grilling or to use as a buffet when dining outdoors. In addition, there is a storage closet which houses our charcoal grill, beach chairs & a beach umbrella.
As you go up the stairs, you will enter the main living area. The second floor is comprised of the living room, kitchen, master bedroom, bathroom and screened in lanai. The living room is equipped with a 65' LED HD Smart along with a DVD player & an assortment of DVD's for the whole family to enjoy. You can enjoy nice views of the bay from from the living room and lanai. The kitchen has brand new appliances. It is equipped with a microwave, dish washer, coffee maker, blender, crock pot and everything needed for cooking & serving. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and a 45' LED HD Smart Television, blu-ray player. The screened in porch has a round table and 4 chairs and a closet with a full-sized washer & dryer and space for storage.
As you go up the spiral staircase, you will be on the third level. There you will find 2 queen size beds, a dresser with a 42' LED HD television, and blu-ray player. The closed loft had its own bathroom and closet. There is a nice seating area with baskets containing board games for the kids to play. From the loft area, you can enjoy the amazing views of the bay.
Please note the golf cart is no longer available with the rental of the unit. Although many of our wonderful reviews refer to a golf cart, we no longer offer the golf cart with the rental. If you would like to rent a golf cart, please call LGI Golf Carts at 941 697-3820.

We loved staying at this condo! It was so beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. The beach is so very beautiful, love all the different shellls and birds on the island. Everyone is so friendly and we enjoyed every minute of our vacation, we’re going back again next year!

Perfect Florida Vacation

A wonderful place to relax and connect with family!

My husband, two sons and myself enjoyed ourselves tremendously on Little Gasparilla Island. The condo was clean, nicely decorated and all of the "extras" from boogie boards, grills, movies and the golf cart were all wonderful. The owners were extremely responsive and a pleasure to work with. If you are looking for a "back to basics" vacation to spend quality time with your family, then I highly recommend this condo on Little Gaspailla Island.

This place is absolutely worth it! It is furnished with everything you need and very nice at that. The furniture was all new, stylish, and very comfortable. The appliances, pans, and kitchen utensils were all very nice. Golf cart was a very very nice addition. The owners even thought of fishing poles, beach chairs, and beach toys for the kids. I plan on returning and I would recommend this place to anyone!!

Best Condo on Little Gasparilla

We had such a great time on the island! The condo was beautifully remodeled and all of the beds and furniture were extremely comfortable. The appliances, TV's, and linens were what you'd want for your own home. Everything was top notch. This was our 4th time to stay at Hideaway Bay and this was by far the nicest condo we've ever stayed in. The golf cart was great, it's the best looking one on the island! We can't wait to return! Thanks for sharing your beach home!!

Best Kept Secret For island Getaway in the USA!

Little Gasparilla Island (LGI) in FL is an incredible and quaint little place that we totally enjoyed going to. This was our 1st time staying in the condo at Hideaway Bay Beach Club and we were extremely pleased with the amenities and cleanliness of the facilities. It was our favorite vacation in many years and it started with the incredible condo. So many things to do at LGI and the best beaches we have ever been to in FL. If Shelling is your thing you will never run out of shells to look for. Amazing.

So Relaxing!!

We had an awesome time! :) The condo is everything you see on the website and Maria is wonderful! Beautiful sunsets and we so enjoyed exploring the island on the golf cart. It's so easy just take the ferry over to the mainland, you've got to try Farlows for dinner or lunch. The food is fantastic! Also shopping is very close by. I loved the island. It takes a bit to get used to planning with the ferry. The condo was okay. It was "surface" clean. The mattresses were very old and worn. The BBQ pit had passed it's usefulness.

Marias condo was fabulous! Great washer and dryer. The king size bed in our room was very comfortable. Our tween and teenager loved their loft area with two queens I think? Their own bathroom area and TV. We have been coming to LGI for several years and plan to return. It was nice to have some kitchen supplies when you got there. Though we brought alot of our own. Nice beach chairs, coolers umbrella for the beach we mostly though stayed poolside, WE LOVE LGI we will be back !!

Wonderful Family Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed LGI and found the condo accommodations to be very comfortable and well-stocked. The listing is accurate and the condo is well maintained. From the comfortable beds to the layout that gave the kids their own loft space to the warm pool that often had very few people, it was a great vacation spot. The golf cart was a nice amenity to be able to explore the island. We even found a small gift shop at the end of the island that our kids loved. The beach was great and could not have been filled with more shells, sharks teeth, and sand dollars. We took the ferry off the island for dinner three nights and enjoyed the local restaurants: Waterside Grill at the Gasparilla Marina to the south had great bar food (homemade chips were great) and Flounders and Lock and Key on Manasota Key were great as well. Flounders is a fun spot with live music and outdoor games. We'd definitely recommend this property to others and look forward to returning!

Paradise

We just returned from Lake Placida after a week in this great unit .It was one of the best vacations we have had. We were all so sad to leave the island. Maria's place was wonderful!! We felt at home since the moment we walked in. It was spacious, beautiful, and extremely clean. There is nothing you will need that is not provided here. The view of the bay was so peaceful. Having the golf cart allowed us to explore the island. Beach chairs and umbrellas were provided. The beach itself was out of this world. The aqua waters were a dream. The water views from the screened lanai while having breakfast simply amazing. This place is a gem and Maria was so helpful answering all of our questions. We are making plans to come back again. Thank you Maria for allowing us to stay .

Gorgeous and peaceful stay!

This was our first time to the island and immediately upon arriving we knew it wasn't going to be our last! First off, the condo itself is wonderful. Maria and Jorge- you have a beautiful, clean, and well stocked condo. Even the outside of it was decorated. If we had any questions or concerns, they were answered right away. The island is truly a 'get-away'. It never felt crowded and we were in awe at how clear the water was. Snorkeling for shells was amazing as well. Saw plenty of dolphins in the ocean and bay side. On our last night we were able to observe baby sea turtles being released into the ocean! That is one memory that will be treasured since we'll probably never get a chance to see that again. This was a perfect vacation and we will be back someday! Thank you so much Maria and Jorge for making our stay wonderful!!

Wonderful escape from reality!

We had a fantastic time staying in Maria's unit at the Hideaway Beach Club on Little Gasparilla Island. The decor is beach chic, with nice tile floors throughout; the kitchen appliances seem brand new; and all of the rooms have large flat-screen TVs with blu-ray players and DirecTV. We also really enjoyed Maria's bumblebee-colored golf cart, which enabled us to travel the island in style. We've never seen a beach with such a rich collection of shells, sand dollars, and shark's teeth - what a treasure trove! And the sunsets are absolutely incredible. The gulf water was a little cold for swimming in February, but the heated pool was a delight. The ferry service to and from the mainland is reliable and fun, with a ride that lasts less than 10 minutes. We also loved the fact that there is no place on LGI to spend any money! Where else can you go and just leave your wallet behind? The one minor drawback was that although there are several wifi hotspot connections available from the condo, the wifi is provided by satellite service, so the upload speeds are quite poor. But I have my own Verizon hotspot on my phone, so we just used that option and had no problems. And if you're not planning to upload large files (or if you just don't want to be connected to the internet at all!), then the internet situation won't bother you a bit. Because the kitchen is so well-equipped, we didn't feel the need to have a single dinner off island, but if you'd like to dine out, there are plenty of nearby options. You just need to make sure that you catch the last ferry back to the island, which is 8PM during the week and 10PM on weekends. I would highly recommend LGI and the Hideaway Beach Club to anyone looking to recharge their batteries with some downtime, and Maria's unit in particular!

Bad Location. Poor Cleanliness. Dishwasher not working.

Here is a list of reasons why I do not recommend this property: 1. Location is not good. Does not face the ocean. It's in the back part of complex. Stay in one of the condos located in the buildings that are located in front of the lake and with ocean view. This was the worse building in terms of location. 2. The property was NOT clean even in the midst of the pandemic. I don't think the oven has been EVER cleaned. Sliding doors had foot and hand prints of last renters. I had to thourougly clean the kitchen as all cleaning was done superficially. And they charge an a lot of money for supposedly cleaning when you book. 3. We had this horrible white light ( hospital type) in the Kitchen that was flickering and it was extremely uncomfortable. Called owners to fix it but "boy were they angry." They came into property to change the light fixture and didn't even have the courtesy of saying hello to us. They were VERY RUDE and furious at us because we asked them to fix it. 4. The dishwasher was NOT working. We advised the owners on the first day and they NEVER sent anyone to fix or to at least to take a look at it and see if there was any way of fixing it. We stayed there for a whole week and had to wash dishes 3 times a day during our "vacation."

Just Perfect In Every Way!

We've stayed on LGI once before, and we had visited a number of times on day trips as well. So we knew what we needed and wanted on this trip. This was the first time I had used vrbo.com, and I must say, every part of the transaction went smoothly. I will definitely use this web site again!! We've stayed at Hideaway Bay Condos once before, and the condo we stayed in was nice... but this one is WONDERFUL. If I had to guess, I bet it's the nicest one in the complex. It's newly updated, the decor is fun and beachy, it is CLEAN, and has EVERYTHING you need, including DirectTV, WiFi, beach chairs and a beach umbrella (though, we brought our own, but it's nice to know they are there), a grill, and a golf cart (which, you don't really NEED a golf cart, but it's a nice thing to have to explore the island). The owners are wonderful and easy to work with, and they've done a lovely job with their condo. The upsides to Hideaway Bay - and there are MANY - is that the water taxi and parking are included (not an extra expense like they would be if you stayed in a house), there is a pool, an ice machine, and the beach is footsteps away no matter what unit you're in. I'd say the downside, if I had to choose one, is that renters are not exactly welcomed by some owners at Hideaway Bay. Due to increasing problems with vandalism and abuse of the rules, apparently, some owners and the association are very skeptical of renters. Even one of the boat captains said the one improvement the association could make in order to improve the issues they are having would be to not allow renters. So, that said, when you're there, do not abuse the rules so that it continues to be nice and available to everyone, because you truly would LOVE to stay here, especially at this property!! :)

Carts and Ferry the only issue.

LGI is a piece of paradise and Hideaway Bay Condos are ideally situated. Maria and Jorge’s property was perfect for us. Sadly we gave a 3* for check in as the Ferry and cart situation had issues both for us checking in and checking out. Basically upon arrival on a Saturday arriving at 3:15 for the 4pm ferry there were no carts. But LOTS of people arrived after us and when the ferry returned from the island late, well after 4 with 6 carts it was a mad scramble. The captain did eventually take charge and went by the sign in list to delegate these few carts. Leaving on the next Saturday, we went down to get a cart @7am for the 8am ferry departure and there was only 1 cart! Arrived at the dock at 7:30 with our cart and there were 18 people already signed in on the list but only 2 were present with their cart! Clearly, people take the carts the night before and they go sign in but do not remain at the dock with their carts as per rules😕

Magical family vacation spot

The property is warmly furnished and maintained with obvious love. The outdoor seating area is a great aspect. The inside is well equipped and furnished. The multistory structure provides a lot of space and opportunity for privacy. The setting is spectacular with breathtaking sunsets. The property owner, Maria, was a wonderful help to us by answering the few questions we had. We hope very much to go back.

Paradise

Lovely spot both inside and out! Short walk to the beach and the pool. The beach was awesome! Shells, shells and more shells! It was so fun searching for sharks teeth (which becomes easy once you spot one). The outdoor area was wonderful, comfy chairs, ceiling fans and beautiful plants and flowers. Maria was a joy to work with and was quick to help us solve the one little problem we had. Ferry was a blessing and the captains were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this condo and LGI if you want total relaxation and beautiful sunsets.

Little Piece of Paradise!

We loved our stay in Little Gasparilla! It was absolutely relaxing in every way! Maria’s condo was just perfect for our group of 4 (2 couples from the Midwest). The condo was decorated so nicely and was truly inviting throughout the entire place. It had great updates in the bathroom as well as newer appliances in the kitchen and laundry. There was even an air fryer in the kitchen, and everything else we needed for all of our meals. One of our favorite spots in the condo was a lovely downstairs open air “hang out” area. We loved the comfortable furniture in this area and spent time relaxing there every day after a wonderful day on the island. Each morning we had breakfast on the cute little screened in porch overlooking a nice greenspace with a slight view of the water. There were amazing Tommy Bahama type beach chairs as well as noodles and such for our beach days. We enjoyed exploring the island, taking a fun 2-hour boat cruise with Captain Willy, walking the beach, and just plain relaxing on the beach. Everyone was so nice on the island…we made so many new friends. Maria was great to work with, and answered all of my questions before booking, and stayed in touch throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a true getaway from all the hustle and bustle…. in a little piece of paradise… THIS is your place! Susan from KC

We visited LGI back in 2014 and three months later we became owners. We had such a nice experience and want to share our little hidden treasure with other families. You will feel totally relaxed during your stay on the island. This is truly "Old Florida".

Why they chose this property

I heard about Little Gasparilla Island after watching an episode on HGTV in May 2014. We booked a vacation and stayed here for week in August 2014. This place is so relaxing and everyone is so friendlly. My boys loved fishing, going to the beach and exploring the island on golf carts. We loved it so much we started looking for a place for us. In November 2014 we purchased our property which we consider a slice of heaven. You will enjoy nice long walks on the beach, refreshing time in the pool or just a time to sit and relax on the ground floor of out unit.

What makes this property unique

My family loves this condo for several reasons. My husband and the boys love to fish. There are so many places on the island to fish. You can fish from the docks, beach or take a boat out to the gulf. I love the tranquility and peace of mind I feel here at LGI(Little Gasparilla Island). The people on the island are so friendly. I love sitting on the beach just listening to the waves or looking at the birds. I find I can truly relax here and disconnect from the hussle and bussle of living in a large city. When I want to go shopping (my favorite sport), I simply ride the ferry to the mainland and off I go. Once you experience Little Gasparilla Island, you will fall in love with it just as my husband and I did.
