Family friendly with plenty of room for all to enjoy.

The Getaway is a very spacious home that gives you the comfort of the north. Inside, our cabin gives you that up north feel with tongue and grove pine throughout. Located on a private deive, it is a wonderful place to stay and relax. Kitchen is fully furnished with all the pots, pans and dishes you need. All appliances (gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave) are stainless steel and we also have a 4 burner gas grill.. Washer and dryer are on sight. Living room is spacious with a large screen tv, cable service and wireless internet provided. There is a fire pit in the back yard and plenty of places around to purchase firewood. Our cabin is close to town and is great for small or large groups.

Gaylord has so much to offer for all. Whether you are here to enjoy the great outdoors or just relax, our cabin is what you need for your home away from home. There are over twenty golf courses, several lakes, thousands of acres of state land and plenty of trails for your summer and winter activities.

We had a blast. There were eight of us at the house all there for a golf weekend. No complaints and plenty of room and amenities to make us more than comfortable.

Good for families with kids

This cozy home is a good fit for families. The place provides kitchen gear, kayaks, canoe, board games, crib, outdoor firepit, etc. The host was super friendly and helpful.

Fun golf weekend

Had a great time with our group, had 8 guys stay the weekend. House was rustic, clean, and met all of our needs. Close proximity to our activities, and communication with the owner was very good. Thanks for a fun weekend!

Place to relax

Good value as it accommodates a lot of people and is well stocked with all the essentials. We needed a much needed RnR and this place allowed us to do that as we were able to cook, play lots of games, ring in the new year, watch bowl games and spend quality time with family!

Family vacation

Poor communication with owners

Owners didn’t tell us AC wasn’t working until AFTER we checked in. They had installed 2 window units before we checked in but bedrooms were very hot and stuffy with doors closed at night. Then we arrived home from an outing during our stay and there was a contractor IN the house but we were NOT notified beforehand so we could protect our valuables and he was there for 3 hours making it hard to gain access to the kitchen during lunchtime for our kids. Owner was not present and said they had no idea he was there. House also has a musty smell which is especially prevalent in entryway and garage. House was sufficient for our time but we are glad we left when we did.

Great for an Up North Getaway

The group had a great time at the house. We had never been to Gaylord before and it was very good experience. We had a lot of space a for two families traveling together. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans etc. The backyard grill was great. There were Kayaks on site but we didn't have time to use them. There was extra soaps on hand if you need them too. Pretty much every chain restaurant and Meijer is up there. A small downside was if people (our wild children) are roaming around upstairs and you're in a first floor bedroom. You will hear it. But it wasn't a huge issue for us. It was very easy to find and there is loads to do in the area. Just me mindful that all the bars close around 10pm. We recommend the Iron Pig, Ostego State Park, Young State Park, and going to the Skybridge at Boyne Mt. The gals also got pedicures at Salon Bliss it was wonderful! We'd love to come back!

Quiet retreat

My family has vacationed together for 6 years now, trying to visit a different Michigan lake each year. Otsego Lake was a fairly quiet area although close to needed grocery stores, etc. Kevin was easy to contact and was helpful and easy to talk to. The only thing that would’ve made this stay better is if the house had been on the water. We survived the short walk there with the various items all of our family members wanted to enjoy.

Family Friendly Rental

This property was perfect for our family reunion. It has plenty of space inside and outside for gatherings and group meals. The location is conveniently close to the state and county parks, golf and downtown Gaylord restaurants and shops. This property offers all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay!

Gaylord Getaway

The cottage/property was a great basecamp for our three week Gaylord Getaway. Clean, comfortable, cozy house with charming private back yard. Conveniently located for shopping in Gaylord and exploring the surrounding tip of the Michigan Mit. The owners, Kevin and Jackie Drummond, are fantastic hosts, very accommodating, sweet people. I would definitely rent from them again. Thank you for a great stay!!

Buddies Golf Trip

Great location for a Gaylord golf trip. Easy to get to golf resorts and Gaylord downtown area. older property but well managed and clean. Water had "mineral" smell quality that might be common in the area.

Our golf outing

The house was good size for us and very clean. Only problem was the floor on the upstairs is very noisy to those below especially early in the morning. Owner was very nice and kept in contact with us for anything we might need.

What a awesome place with lots of room

The only negative thing I can say is the beds up stairs need new mattresses!! (So I’m told as I sleep down stairs) That’s it!! The place is great other then that. Would stay again for sure!! Thanks Kevin for all your hospitality!!

Nice stay for our group

We had five people in our group for a snowmobile weekend around Gaylord. The weather cooperated and the accommodations were perfect for our needs. The landlord was very accommodating and checked in to make sure everything was OK. The house was close to the main trail and worked great. It was a nice place to relax after a long day of riding.

Love it

House was clean. Plenty of space for 10 adults and 4 kids. Kids love the long cabin house specialy that room at yard. Kevin and Jackie was nice, kind and helpful. They let us stay for longer periode. We would stay there again. Thank you Jackie and kevin.

Wonderful!

House was clean and inviting. Plenty of space for the entire family and 3 friends of our children's. Only complaint is that the mattress in the master was very uncomfortable- then again- most rentals don't have quality mattresses. Kevin was super kind and helpful. Got to meet him in person. Would stay here again!

Very nice cozy cabin

Very accommodating cabin with everything you need to make a great vacation. The owner is very helpful, knowledgable of the area with suggestions, and flexible with schedules. Had a great stay!

My wife Jackie and I have been married for twenty eight years. We have seven children. In the year 2000 we moved to Gaylord from the Grand Rapids area and fell in love with Gaylord immediately. We knew this is where we wanted to raise our children. All but one still reside in Gaylord or with us. Jackie is from Iowa and I am from Holland Mi. We enjoy all outdoor activities from hunting, fishing, skiing to boating and just relaxing on the pontoon with our kids. We are about 3 miles from the cabin and are available at anytime to help make your stay enjoyable.

Why they chose this property

We always wanted to own a cabin that we could enjoy for ourselves, family and friends. With all that Gaylord has to offer we decided to get into the vacation rentals and this is our only one. Our goal is to have your stay the most enjoyable stay ever.
