'OUR PALAPA' TRANQUILITY AWAITS - UPDATED AND REMODELED


"Our Palapa" is located at El Zalate in San Jose del Cabo, a fabulous vacation destination for families or couples. With the help of our dedicated on-site staff, we strive to make our home as clean and comfortable as possible. Top Shelf Management company will arrange transportation from and to the airport, coordinate excursions, a personal chef, or a massage on the balcony. Whatever you desire, our team is here to help. El Zalate is a small complex, you have a private patio, the pool area is large enough for social distancing, and the beach is not crowded. You will find the staff at El Zalate very friendly and helpful. The security guards speak Spanish and English and are eager to teach you a few phrases. They will call you a cab and greet you cheerfully as you come and go throughout the property. We hope your vacation is filled with fun-filled unforgettable memories.

Enjoy our private secure balcony with a beautiful luxurious rattan couch, chairs, BBQ, and a dining table for six. The home includes two bedrooms and two full bathrooms including a pillow-top king bed and two full beds. The kitchen is equipped with all the amenities for cooking or BBQ, a washer and dryer, and ample storage in closets, and dressers. TV, internet. A safe is provided for your valuables. English-speaking helpful 24-hour security guards, a locked beach gate, and ample lighting provide a safe environment. El Zalate has a gym available to all our guests. It is clean and private for owners and their guests only. 2024 NEW Pickleball and a NEW gym are on-site and available for our guests. The gym includes an elliptical machine, row machine, bicycle, treadmill, weight machines, and free weights. All the equipment is new in 2024. The gym is open 24 hrs. and has AC and a bathroom.

If you like organic dining check out Acre and FloraFarm. They are located east of San Jose in Las Animas and offer a unique outdoor dining experience.

H, located in San Jose is another fabulous dining experience. Luis, the owner, and chef will treat you like family. reservations are recommended.

On Thursdays, San Jose del Cabo hosts an Art Walk. Many art galleries, artists, and shop owners are on hand to greet you. There is something for everyone at the Art Walk. Restaurants, bars, and stores are open for your pleasure. The streets of Downtown are closed and families and couples roam the town enjoying art, fashion, music, and food.

On Fridays, Palmilla has a Farmers Market. Nestled among upscale boutique shops are farmers with produce and homemade goods straight from the farms.

If you need accommodations before or after your stay here at 'Our Palapa'' you may want to experience, El Encanto, a quaint hotel in downtown San Jose, its ambiance is quiet and has an old-world Mexico flavor.

We provide oversized towels for the pool and beach, four beach chairs, hairdryers, and basics in the kitchen. Bring your bathing suit and toothbrush! That's all you need for an awesome time!

This condo is beautifully decorated! It has everything you need. We cooked a lot and ate in at this beautiful place with a Wonderful view! Beds are comfortable and really feels like home!

Fantastic Stay

We have an incredible time at this condo. It is in the perfect location in San Jose del Cabo. It is on a beautiful and quiet beach. The view is fantastic and the grounds are great. The condo is super comfortable and well maintained. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked for cooking. We will definitely come back. 5 stars!

Delightful!

We had a great stay in this very comfortable condo with amazing views. We swam in the pools every day and visited most of the recommended restaurants. It felt a little like we had our own personal concierge, as the recommendations and available services were spot on. We enjoyed it all!

An oasis with ocean view

Incredible place with resort feel but without the noisy bustle. The place was clean and well stocked. We loved the lanai with the beautiful sunrises, 3 temperature pools and direct access to the beach. Our only critique would be that there was no hot water to the master shower but it didn't take away from us recommending this place.

Beautiful condo with a great balcony and incredible views

We loved this condo and barely wanted to leave it. The view from the balcony was so nice and everything was upgraded in terms of appliances and furniture. The kitchen was stocked and they supply things like boogie boards and beach chairs. The beach and pool weren’t crowded at all. Very peaceful environment. A lot of good food options within walking distance, and San Jose Del Cabo was a quick uber. We went into Los Cabos twice, but were so happy we weren’t staying there. Kathy and Rudy were very helpful! Thanks for a great vacation.

Lovely Stay!

My husband and I just returned from a one week stay at Dan and Judy's beautiful condo. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived, comfortable and well decorated. We had a few questions during our stay and they were answered quickly by the owners and/or property managers. We have stayed at El Zalate many times in other condos. You cannot find a more serene and secure spot with the most incredible views! We plan to return in a year and are already looking forward to the trip.

Great getaway in San Jose

We loved Dan and Judy's place, it was so clean and had anything and everything we needed. Beds were super comfortable! The Lanai was spacious and so nice.The location was perfect, close to Grocery Stores and great places to eat. So convenient to San Jose, where we enjoyed the Art Walk and Restaurants there as well. Both Judy and the property Managers were so nice to work with. Just great people !! I highly recommend !! Cant wait to stay here again !! Thank you Judy and Dan :)

We liked the fact that was place was clean, the view was fantastic, and grounds were kept up. The beach was almost part of the property it was so close. Having our own kitchen was so nice, made it nice for small meals or you can cook a meal too. Our communication with the property managers was very good and helpful. It was peaceful there. But, if you wanted some excitement a uber ride to town was less than 10 minutes away, you could walk it through the beach if you wanted to. Were already planning on a return visit, highly recommend this condo.

Absolute Gem!!

My wife and daughter stayed here for 6 nights during spring break - 3/15 to 3/21. We've been to SJC multiple times and stayed at a few all inclusive resorts and boutique hotels. After staying at El Zalante and this particular unit I don't think we'll stay anywhere else on our next visit. The unit was recently remodeled and the floors are a beautiful large format tile which flowed seamlessly out to the veranda. Very nicely decorated too. Morning coffee on the comfortable veranda furniture was a daily routine and equally inviting for happy hour and meals. The hosts were very communicative and awesome to deal with. They even helped get me set up with the group of golfers that go out weekly. The grounds and pool are very well maintained. We will be back for sure and looking forward to it! Thanks J & D!

My wife and I spent 8 days here, and it was really nice to be at a low key property ( no time share pressure) the week was very relaxing with some golf and Thursday night art walk. We had meals at the palapa as well as Mama Mia’s next store just steps on the beach away! It was wonderful sitting on the balcony watching sunrise and drinking Mexican coffee!! A 5star get away, hoping to return again soon….. thank you Dan and Judy! Oh yeah we saw whales from the balcony too !!

Beautiful beach front condo, expensive airport pickup

The property was very nice, spacious and tastefully decorated. Amenities were great, except the hot tub was not functioning the entire week. Beach was very secluded and we saw whales offshore on several afternoons! Communication with the owners was prompt. Good suggestions given for nearby restaurants and spa services. Art Walk was wonderful, it’s a must! Warning: the on-site property manager, Rudy, recommends airport transportation by Aldo at Dunes Tours and Travel. The charge was 70 one way for a 20 minute trip. I should have checked Uber, it was on 16 one way. I suggest you take an Uber everywhere. Cheap and good service!

Another perfect stay!

This was our second visit to Dan and Judy’s condo and we loved it just as much if not more than our first. El Zalate is a great property- beautifully maintained pool and grounds and views that take your breath away. The condo itself is such a pleasure to stay in. It is obvious there is pride of ownership here. It is one of the nicest and best equipped VRBO properies we have ever stayed in. Everything you need is here. Our favourite spot is the huge deck.We spent many happy early mornings drinking our coffee watching the sunrise and loved our candlelit dinners at the outdoor dining table. Thanks so much,Dan and Judy,you really do have a little piece of paradise here. We’ll be back- Bruce and Paula

Home with a View

My husband, college student son and I just returned from a week at this beautiful property. Other reviews have referred to the comfort of this well maintained condo, but I will add that it is clearly a well loved home, with all the conveniences you might want provided with high end style. The complex is within walking distance of a few good restaurants, but we found it helpful to have a car. There is a fair amount of construction all over Cabos and the property was a tranquil oasis; Always quiet, on a near empty broad beach. (We did not try to swim there, though a handful of people did.) Dan and Judy were always available and helpful hosts. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for relaxation.

Hidden Gem

I'm hesitant to review this place because we want to keep it all to ourselves! Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice. The condo was clean, spacious and prefectly situated on the property. Gorgeous views from a comfortable balcony living room. The pools were large with ample space for guests and never crowded. With a bar and restaurant next door, fresh fish sold by locals after their day on the water, and the local supermarket a short walk or uber ride away- what more could you ask for?! Our young teen girls joined us and their room with 2 beds was a perfect fit for them. We enjoyed this so much we are already talking about our return! This was a find we were more than happy with, just don't tell anyone!

Everything we needed

Loved the location. 3 great restaurants within a short walk and Ubers everywhere for easy access to anything you need! (Oxxo next door for quick simple purchases and beautiful Grocery only 1km away) The condo was clean and comfortable with easy access to the pool and beach. Pool was heated and perfect temp. (Kids under 12 not allowed in hot tub tho and strictly enforced by neighbours. All very nice ;) It was also valuable to know in advance that beach was not safe to swim in. The Owners were easy to contact and very responsive. They were gracious enough to accommodate us one more night at the last minute when our flight was cancelled. We loved the condo and were Very happy with our stay! Thank you!

Lovely View

The place was very nice and had a beautiful view. Very quiet & low key place if that is what you are seeking. It was nice to be able to use a gym one mile away for free. Had everything you needed. ****Only issue was our friends who stayed in the guest room only had luke warm water in shower. The Master bathroom shower was hot but not guest room bath. That is something we complained about but supposedly nothing could be done about it. So if I paid half for the condo, I’d want to know that going into it. Otherwise it was a nice stay and very responsible manager & owner.

The perfect vacation

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay at Dan & Judy’s Palapa. The condo is very clean and has all of the amenities you could ask for. The views are phenomenal. We arrived in the dark and the next morning my son ran into my room saying, “Mom, it’s beautiful here!” It really doesn’t get better then this. The grounds are meticulously cared for and as you walk around you feel that you are in paradise. The sound of the waves follows you reminding you that you are in a special place. This is one of the only vacation homes that I have stayed at where the pictures truly do the home justice. Yes, the balcony is that big!! Room to eat and lounge. You have a gorgeous view from almost every place in the condo, including the kitchen. Dan & Judy were a pleasure to work with. Very easy. Prompt responses. El Zalate itself hosts a very warm and relaxing atomosphere. The other guests were friendly and kind. The complex overall is very quiet and relaxing. The beach is steps away. The sunrises are spectacular. Activities are close by. The art walk on Thursday night is a very special event that we all enjoyed. The one big decision you will have to make every morning is, beach or pool?

In 2014, after many trips to Cabo, we decided to purchase a home of our own in what we consider one of the best-kept secrets in Cabo. We know you will enjoy our home as much as we do. The only question is 'When will your Adventure begin'?

Why they chose this property

Our unit is in the center of the complex facing the ocean. This is a benefit since it allows for a constant breeze from the ocean. Also, we are close to the secure parking area and the Security booth. The parking area is close, as is the elevator. This is great when carrying groceries or luggage to the unit.

What makes this property unique

Our Palapa boasts elegant, comfortable outdoor furniture. Since you will spend many relaxing hours on the balcony, you want to be sure you are comfortable! Also, due to our 3rd-floor location you enjoy views of the garden, pools, and ocean instead of at another building. We have a security front door which allows for a cool breeze and peace of mind. Often we leave the windows open at night while we sleep to the sound of the waves. Our kitchen is fully stocked with paper towels, Tupperware, zip lock bags, and many spices for gourmet cooking. Laundry and dish soap, toilet paper and mini soaps and shampoos, conditioner, and lotions are always plentiful. No need to bring your hairdryer, there is one in each bathroom along with plenty of luxurious towels. We have four Tommy Bahama beach chairs and swim noodles for your enjoyment at the beach and pool. Lastly, you will always find a cold beverage in the frig upon your arrival. There's nothing else like it!
