Sunrise is amazing from this boat, which is a beauty docked in a nice marina in a great location. It was fun to change things up from a hotel or rental house. You do have to remember that boat bathrooms are small and weird, but they work (after one repair early in our stay). Also the marina bathhouse is spotless and easy to access. We had a little trouble with an odor on the boat, but Dan was very responsive. (Also be aware that low tide can sometimes have a smell.) Overall boat is a really fun option for a short stay.
In the VRBO world, this is a treat. First, the boat was great. If you are worried about comfort, don’t be. There is plenty of room for 3 or 4 people. The shower is tight, but works great. The host was fantastic and was available when needed. The location is fantastic with town a short Uber away. There is a restaurant and bar within walking distance. Lastly, the boat is the best value for 3-4 person stay. I looked everywhere and luckily found this boat. We had a great stay and highly recommend.
We had an amazing and memorable stay aboard the Legacy. From the initial booking until checkout, Dan was a communicative and excellent host.
This was the first trip to Charleston for both of us and the city is charming. At the time of our trip, an Uber ride to the French Quarter from the marina averaged between $6-$7 before tip—highly preferable to fighting for parking spots! We made a couple of easy day trips to Folly Beach and Fort Moultrie as well.
All in all, it was a great experience to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. Thank you again, Captain Dan!
Was unable to stay in the rental due to toilets not working, air not working in the bedroom, and a horrible backed up sewer smell in the boat due to the plumbing issue. I notified the owner that we were unable to stay in the yacht due to these issue and did not receive communication back. Would like to receive a full refund.
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and we loved it. Captain Dan was great to work with. We will definitely be coming back many more times during the year. Outstanding experience overall! Thank you Captain Dan!
Brought our daughter to Charleston for her celebration! Stayed on Dans boat and it was so much fun. Marina was beautiful at night and the bathhouse was a nice bonus! Highly recommend
My son (42 yr. old) and I (73 yr. old), along with my grandsons (9 and 6 yr. olds) spent two days living on Legacy. There aren't enough words to express what wonderful time we all had on Legacy. From meeting the owner at the dock when we first got there, until the day we left, it could not have been any better. Legacy is beautiful and in fabulous condition. Everything aboard worked perfectly, even the air conditioning! It was immaculately clean and the owner provided everything needed, including some things that surprised us. Thanks to Dan Moss, we had an experience that we'll never forget. BTW, it's a week after our stay and my grandsons are still raving about what a good time they had living on a yacht.
We were looking for a unique experience and The Legacy certainly delivered! The boat was spacious, clean, and beautiful. Dan was amazing host and greeted us at the boat. Highly recommend!
Loved our two night stay on the Legacy. We were warmly welcomed and offered helpful tips on what to do and where to go. The boat was convenient to all the sights and a great escape from the bustle at the end of the day. We had lots of fun and slept great. What a unique way to visit a new city!
Had a great experience with Captain Dan. He was very communicative and helpful with the check-in process, showing us the boat controls, dock facilities, etc. The boat itself was clean and comfortable and had plenty of room for a few extra visitors for evening cocktails. Fantastic location right off Lockwood and proximity to local favorite Salty Mike's. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to make another trip out of it ourselved.
There is just something about sleeping on the water. First of all, the Marina is beautiful and impeccably kept up. The boat itself is beautiful - an old classic. Plenty of room for my wife and I. Would be fine with a few more guests as well.
Lication: We opted to walk to Charleston - it is a little over a mile. Note - Ubers are everywhere. But again, we opted to walk and pass thru beautiful historic neighborhoods along the way. And then you are in the heart of the city. We loved Charleston, loved the marina and the boat. Dan is an excellent host. Give The Legacy a try!
Dan was an excellent host. The yacht was lovely! It was wonderful to spend time relaxing on the deck with the sounds of birds and gentle breezes. Location is excellent for visiting Charleston... Everywhere we went was within 20 minutes. Great value for the money. Would stay there again.
We liked our stay in Charleston. The marina was nice and quiet and felt safe. The one night that the nearby restaurant was having an event, the music and lights added a fun ambience to the marina and it was quiet by 10 pm. There was one issue but Dan (host) was very responsive and fixed it as quickly as possible. The boat is beautiful and well maintained. We would recommend staying here--its an unique experience if staying in Charleston.
My wife and i wanted a unique place to stay for a weekend get away. This was an excellent idea. Dan was extremely attentive to all our needs and the boat was awesome. I especially loved having morning coffee on the upper deck area. My wife and I were very impressed by the comfy bed and beautiful view. Docked a quick walk to the parking deck was an added convenience.
We enjoyed our stay aboard and particularly appreciated the sun rises from the yacht and where it is located in the marina we could sit out at the end of the dock and enjoy nature.
DAN MOSS has lived on the water for most of his life. Avid sportsman who loves being outdoors enjoying friendship and nature . Giving people the opprotunity to stay on the Legacy has been an enjoyable experience to meet people from all over the world.

What makes this property unique
Wake up having coffee on the helm as porpoise glide by, the beautiful city just starting to wake up. In the evening having cocktails on board and watching the sun set on another marvelous day. Beats a hotel room!
