About this property

'Up North' vacation cabin on Mule Lake that Won't Disappoint

Nestled on the serene shores of Mule Lake, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and abundant fish, stands a charming cabin beckoning to those seeking a slice of lakeside paradise. This five-bedroom abode boasts all the comforts of home and then some.

Step inside to find a fully stocked kitchen, ready to facilitate culinary adventures or simple lakeside meals. With ample space for gathering, the kitchen transitions seamlessly into a cozy living area, perfect for unwinding after a day of fishing, swimming, or exploring.

But perhaps the true gem of this lakeside retreat lies outdoors. A sprawling deck offers panoramic views of the tranquil waters, inviting guests to bask in the warmth of the sun or sip morning coffee to the gentle lull of the lake breeze. As the day wanes, the deck transforms into an idyllic spot for evening relaxation, with ample seating for stargazing or swapping stories under the twilight sky.

The expansive yard is a playground for both young and old, featuring a swing set for the kids and plenty of space for outdoor games. And no lakeside retreat would be complete without a firepit, where marshmallows roast to golden perfection and tales are spun into the night against a backdrop of twinkling stars.

Descend the steps to the lake (36 to be exact) and behold the inviting waters of the lake; whether you seek the exhilaration of a brisk swim or the simple pleasure of floating lazily on the surface, this swimming area offers a sanctuary where time seems to stand still.

Whether it's casting a line into the pristine waters, lounging on the dock with a good book, taking a refreshing dip in the lake, or gathering around the firepit for s'mores and storytelling, this cabin retreat on Mule Lake offers an unforgettable escape into the heart of nature's beauty.

Russ and I call Brainerd our home, but our true love is heading to the Longville Mule Lake Cabin. Our worries and stress melt away as we take the scenic hour drive north on the winding road between the lakes and through the pines to Longville . We cherish the time spent with family and friends at the cabin on Mule Lake.

Why they chose this property

As a lifelong resident of Brainerd, known as the heart of lakes area, I discovered a whole new love for lake country when we purchased our Mule Lake cabin in Longville in 2011. The tranquility of Mule Lake, known for its' clarity and the thousands of feet of state-owned shoreline, is ideal for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and boating. Huge white pines line the lakeshore and attract many eagles and loons. We enjoy the small community and the many popular year round events that it hosts.

What makes this property unique

Surrounded by lakes and forest, Longville has been a popular vacation destination for many years. Located in North Central Minnesota, the area provides some of the best fishing, boating, water sports, hiking and biking in the summer and fall. The famous Longville Turtle Races have been enjoyed by all ages for many years. Every Wednesday afternoon from June through August, streams of cars descend on the little town of Longville on the shores of Girl Lake. Family-friendly activities are happening all year round in Longville.
