About this property

Romantic Farm Stay with Hottub and View

Tucked in the hills of San Diego, our organic subtropical farm is a great centrally located getaway destination. The beautiful 4-room space occupies the first floor of the original two-story, three-unit farmhouse on our family farm and has it's own entrance with no shared spaces. Relax in the hot tub and enjoy the quiet! We have five other farmstay homes here if this one is booked, or you'd like to reserve for a larger party.

Queen bed, walk-in closet, living room and beautiful limestone bathroom waiting for your arrival. Completely private with a full kitchen off the living room. Full size refrigerator. High-end Reverse Osmosis Nimbus five stage water filtration system, coffee, and tea with sugar and real cream provided. Flat screen smart TV, no outside cable. Bring your passwords for your Netflix/Hulu/etc accounts. Coffee maker, toaster, juicer, microwave waiting for your enjoyment. Hot tub for your private use just steps from your door. Efficient mini-split heating and air conditioning system. Decent wifi.

Great parking, just drive right up to your door. Walk the farm during day light hours or with a really good flashlight. Walk up to the nearby goats and offer them treats! . Super fast Wifi here at last! The Oaks Restaurant is a couple miles away and is a homey cafe type destination for breakfast, lunch or dinner. For something a little pricier and definitely on the romantic side: down the road a bit further is Temecula Creek Inn's Cork Fire Kitchen. Most of the year there's Kenny's you-pick strawberry farm right down the road as well. You'll see small signs on Old 395 as you drive in from either direction. Absolutely awesome strawberries, pick them yourself, or buy them already harvested. We send an exhaustive Activity Guide, Winery Listing, Food Map and Restaurant Guide in PDF format to all confirmed reservations, via email. We'll send our Activity Guide as soon as you book, along with the private activities we're offering like Cheese Making, Jam Making/Canning, and Hand Churned Ice Cream.

Little known, even to San Diegans, Rainbow, California is adjacent to Fallbrook and is right off the I-15 freeway, yet our farm seems like it's miles away from the city. Only a few minutes off the I-15, we're freeway close. 40 minutes or so to Oceanside's beautiful beaches and Carlsbad's flower fields and Legoland, and an exit south of Temecula's wine country tours, right in between San Diego and Los Angeles renowned attractions. Twenty-five minutes or so from Cal State San Marcos University, thirty-five minutes or so from San Diego Wild Animal Park in Escondido and a little over an hour to Seaworld and world famous Balboa Park. The local farmers' market is on Saturday and is 15 minutes away in Old Town Temecula...a destination in itself. We're one exit south of Temecula. Be sure to check out Temecula Olive Oil Company's tasting bar if you find yourself in Old Town. Temecula has a number of vineyards eager to showcase their wines, wine country is one exit north of us (10-15 minutes) and if you book early enough, hot air ballooning is a local wine country favorite.

No public transportation, you need a car for sure! Mountain bikes wouldn't be a bad idea, but you'll have to walk them down to Safari Tent before mounting! (Hilly, blind curves too dangerous for bike riding) Closed toe shoes, rather than high heels or flipflops are a good choice if you intend to hike the farm.

Maximum occupancy is 4 guests in this unit. There is only one queen bed, and one FULL pull out coach in the livingroom. Kitchen seats four.

Free parking right at your door.
We'll send a confirmation and rental agreement to your email to complete your booking, as well as our comprehensive Activity Guide which includes on-farm things to do, as well as area suggestions, wineries and tours.

It was comfortable and convenient to our scheduled event
Loved the friendly animals and loved the exercise we got when we went to visit the animals. Host was very nice and gracious especially when an additional request from us was made. Wonderful restaurant very close by.

Bottom line, we would stay here again.
The farm is a little remote, which is a nice thing that has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, the entertainment is limited to a DVD player or whatever you pull up on WiFi. At the same time, you truly get your privacy. You do have to fix your own breakfast. Six fresh eggs, begals, cream cheese, butter, and fresh fruit are all provided. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom is large, and the rest of the house is cozy. Overall, a great stay.

Wonderful farmstay!
The hosts were so gracious to us! The eggs provided for breakfast were very fresh and tasty. The produce that we bought was farm fresh and very flavorful. I liked meeting Carl and all the other goats. I got to feed the chickens and the alpacas. Donna and Lance were very attentive to us. The romantic farmstay was very cozy and warm on a very chilly day! Thank you for having us. We hope to come again, if anything, just to order more of your flavorful produce. The macadamia nuts were exceptional in my cereal this morning!

Awesome view
Morning Song Farm is a lovely getaway from the city, gorgeous view of the valley. We enjoyed coffee on the patio, feeding the alpacas and the chickens and watching the peacocks. Home fresh eggs and fruit were great. It’s about 15 minutes from wine country which we really enjoyed. Favorite vineyards were Doffo, Lorenzo, Gershon Bachus and Hart. Favorite restaurants were Gourmet Italia and The Goat and Vine. In Fallbrook we loved La Caseta. Fun stay.

Wow...this is as tough as a job interview. Who am I? I really enjoy meeting different people, and count myself lucky to get to share this little slice of farming paradise with lots of well traveled guests. A confirmed Foodie, my original interest in growing things was for my own table. So a lot of what we grow here at Morning Song Farm is rare and unusual; dragon fruit, mulberries, macadamias, guavas, loquats, sapote, Carissa plum and kumquats. My shelves are proof of my eclectic tastes, including organic gardening books, mediation, political history, economics and numerous cheese making books which has become a focus for about a decade now. I teach it here for those that would like to discover how easy it is to make your own cheese! Just ask.
Aesthetics are important to me, I've worked hard to transform our farm into something beautiful...although it's an ongoing fight against the dark forces of weeds and derelict farm equipment. Friends say staying here is very relaxing, the skies are often filled with stars you can't see in the city, and although city-close, it feels like we're far, far away. I need that solitude, as many of our visitors will attest to, it's restorative.

Why they chose this property

The farm property that I raised my children on, I fell in love with Morning Song Farm the day I viewed it. Rainbow is a growing farming community, with a u-pick strawberry farm just down the street, and Roadrunner Winery in walking distance. We're happily located in the center of Wine Country, with wineries both a few minutes north of us in Temecula, and wineries a few minutes south of us in Fallbrook.

What makes this property unique

Right in the center of Wine Country, guests are surrounded by winery and brewery options. The trail head to Southern California's only year-round flowing river (Santa Margarita) is a short drive away in Fallbrook, and offers a mostly flat hike along its banks for guests of all ages. From February through July, Kenny's U-pick Strawberry farm is a local favorite, and is just down the road. And most days, balloon rides are available in nearby Temecula. People from all over Southern California make a day of visiting the family-friendly Rainbow Oaks Restaurant, and for a romantic evening out, a short distance further is Cork Fire Restaurant on the grounds of the Temecula Creek Inn. Pala Mesa Golf Course is a short drive as well, and offers a nice menu and occasional entertainment. Call ahead for their schedule.
