In the Tuscan countryside a few miles from major cities of art: Florence 25km, Siena 65km, Pisa 60km, Lucca 50km, San Gimigniano 30km, Volterra 45km and 15km Vinci (birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci).
This apartment has been completely renovated, maintaining all the features of the old Tuscan house with tile floors, wood beamed ceilings, stone fireplace and a large garden surrounding the house, where you can have the utmost relax and enjoy barbecue, Children and volleyball courts.

Great place

We stayed for 1 week last July and still dream about our time in Empoli. The pictures show how perfect it is. It is centrally located and we were able to use this beautiful home as a base for all of our day trips throughout Tuscany. Highlights of our trip were the personal wine tour by knowlegable Vito, followed by an unforgetable meal prepared by Katarina. Our hosts were very helpful and easy to deal with! I am reluctant to write this review as I am afraid if we want to come back it might be booked. La home of the Elms is a charming farmhouse located at the end of a narrow dirt road nestled between golden wheat fields, olive groves and vineyards. If your desire is to experience Tuscany the location is perfect. Empoli is a short 10 minute drive where you can hop on a train and reach the Santa Maria Novella train station in the heart of Florence in 25 minutes for 10 round trip. Pisa, Livorno, San Gimignano & Siena are all within an hour drive through the picturesque Tuscan countryside. Our hosts, Vito and Kate, provided us with excellent recommendations for dining, shopping, wine tasting and sights to see. Their knowledge of the local wine was unmatched. Their hospitality was exceptional during our week long stay. We hated to leave and on our next trip to Italy we will make it a point to stay with them again.

Wonderfully situated little house

We spent two weeks in this small place in the middle of Tuscany. And we enjoyed it very, very much! Vito and Katarina are wonderful hosts. Always helpful and always with very great tips for excursions and places you wouldn't know otherwise. We were also allowed to help ourselves to their garden and always had fresh tomatoes and herbs. The house is a bit secluded in the middle of the hills. It is nice and quiet and relaxing. We loved it! For those who dare: There are also two bus lines from the main road to Empoli. You just have to look up the times on the internet, as the times given at the bus stop are not really correct. So you can also easily get to Florence, Siena or Pisa from here. Or you can listen to Vito and visit the less touristy places in the area and enjoy these little insider tips! Thanks

Ruheoase, perfekt zum relaxen

Rundum perfekt, total liebe Gastgeber, typisches italienisches Häuschen am Ende einer Sackgasse. Man ist ganz für sich und hört den ganzen Tag fast nur Gezirpe und Gezwitscher. Und trotzdem ist man in 15 Min in Empoli, wo es alles zu kaufen gibt und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in max 1 Std Fahrtzeit. Ein rundum perfekter Urlaub (ok, die Mücken haben ein klein wenig genervt ;) ) Es war ein rundum perfekter zu erreichen

Una semana en la Toscana

Estuvimos una semana en la casa y fue genial. La casa es amplia y en medio del campo. Cuidado porque para subir a la habitación hay una escalera de caracol. Nosotros fuimos la familia (4 personas) y el perro, que se lo pasó genial. Cuidado que el jardín no está vallado. Nosotros no tuvimos problemas. Los anfitriones geniales, tanto Vito como Katerine muy amables y cercanos. Siempre dispuestos para lo que necesitábamos. Nos ofrecieron aceite que hacen ellos, pimientos y tomates de su huerto. Un placer la estancia en su casa.

Toller Urlaub mit leichten Problemen

Alles super außer das es kein Trinkwasser aus der Leitung gab, die Waschmaschine und der Geschirrspüler nicht funktioniert haben und die Klimaanlage aus der Beschreibung Aufpreis kostete….. das Haus,Wetter und Gegend waren super. Von ihrer Agentur habe ich bei meinen Anrufen mehr erwartet und überlege mir Rechtsmittel einzulegen da bis heute jegliche Antwort von ihnen fehlt. Das ist sehr enttäuschend!

Dearest Andrew, as for the dishwasher it had broken with the last guests before you and it was not possible to have time to replace it (it has been replaced). As for the washing machine we have two and even if one was broken you used the second one to wash your clothes if you remember. We all year round use the water from the spring of the well which we can also drink but we recommend our guests not to drink it because it is not analyzed continuously but is fine for all other uses. However we always leave 5 liters of drinking water from the fountain town hall which is 1km away from our guests. As far as air conditioning is concerned, the cost of electricity here in Italy has doubled and we cannot afford to give it away, on the site it is specified that the use of air conditioning is paid based on consumption and you don't even have to asked to use it. For these minor problems you could have spoken directly with us since you sent us a message on whatsApp to thank us for a nice holiday. An authentic Tuscan experience
