If you are looking for a “Peace of Maine”, plan your next vacation or working remotely at this comfortably furnished home overnight the active Pemaquid Harbor.

The interior is fresh and welcoming, with newly remodeled bathrooms and a bright kitchen that has a view spectacular enough to make cooking and even washing the dishes a vacation treat. The bright and spacious living room offers comfortable furnishing with panoramic views of the water. The media room is equipped with a smart TV and high-speed, reliable cable Internet.

A large deck faces Pemaquid Harbor and is the perfect spot to relax in an Adirondack chair and watch the boating and lobstering activities on the harbor, or to catch a beautiful sunset. A well-tended lawn surrounds the house, with annual and perennial gardens in bloom during the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons adding to the charm. Although located close to the water, our cottage is on higher ground than many of our neighbors and survived the flood and storms of January in fine shape.

You are about a mile away from the jewel of the Midcoast, the Pemaquid Beach, with its wonderful white sands. A short drive will also bring you to Pemaquid Point and its historic lighthouse, famous Shaw’s Lobster Wharf, Contended Sole, or the Pemaquid Seafood for the freshest possible Maine Seafood. Nearby Damariscotta has everything you want: farmers' markets, shops, galleries, and a variety of restaurants.

For a special experience, notice we have opened the exciting week of the Damariscotta pumpkin fest (https://www.mainepumpkinfest.com/) for rental, October 10-12, 2025. Come enjoy the pumpkin boat races, the pumpkin hunt for the kids, and the awe-inspiring pumpkin drop! As well as the colors and crisp air of the New England autumn.

Please note all rentals will be weekly from Saturday to Saturday. The cottage and gardens are cleaned and prepared for your stay by professionals who care for your experience. As a result, all stays more than one week require weekly cleanings of $245.

Peace of Maine is perfectly named! The lovely house is in a strikingly beautiful waterfront setting. We felt so grateful to be there in sunny, almost fall-like weather. Everything about the house adds to the experience, from the blooming gardens to the views from every window, and the incredibly supplied kitchen. By far our favorite rental in many years of travels to Maine. Thank you Alan and Gosia for creating this refuge! We hope to return!

“Peace of Maine” is lovely. The house is well furnished for visitors, and the water view is beautiful. We really like the area. It’s private but easily accessible to several good restaurants and interesting shops. We highly recommend the house on Pemaquid Harbor.

Lovely getaway

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Alan and Gosia's Peace of Maine. The home is well appointed, the kitchen is stocked with every appliance and utensil you might need, the beds are sublime, and best of all, the easy access to everything New Harbor has to offer. Alan and Gosia were responsive, helpful, and a pleasure to deal with. We cannot wait to book with them again next summer!

Rain, rain go away!

We had a great time in spite of wet weather most days. The house is lovely, and bright on cloudy days, with a wonderful view, very upbeat and comfortable in every way. And the property and its potted flowers and gardens are charming.

Sweet Pemaquid Point cottage

Sweet, perfect cottage in a beautiful setting. Every possible need has been accommodated! Next year we’ll bring much less of our own ‘stuff’. SO glad the owners arranged for us to have magnificent weather all week in this dreary, rainy summer!! THANKS!!

Great way to enjoy Maine

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the home “Peace of Maine”. Our hosts made us feel welcome and communication was great. The house is well laid out so that you can enjoy the view of water, boats, birds and beautiful sunsets. The location made it easy to take trips to nearby towns, but we also enjoyed the local sights including the lighthouse, beach and restaurants. It was easy to do laundry and cook meals. Overall, the house and outside spaces were comfortable and peaceful. We’d happily come back again.

Peace of Maine, happy again!

This was our second time staying at Alan and Gosia lovely home and it was as wonderful as we remembered. We spent hours outside on the deck, playing in the lawn, and swinging in the hammock listening to the seabirds and watching the tide come and go. It was exactly the restful and relaxing vacation we needed. The home is tastefully appointed and comes with every kitchen gadget you could want, and the sleep number beds/mattresses are amazing. Pemaquid beach, Shaw's Lobster, and Harbor Ice Cream are all just a few minutes drive away. Something tells me we'll be back again next year!

We had a beyond wonderful stay at the 'Piece of Maine' which we will rate @ a 10+++. Gosia & Alan take great pride in every aspect of their home. Hosts provide a thorough detailed listing of everything one needs to know about your stay at the 'Piece of Maine' and respond immediately if there are any questions. Home is immaculate and extremely well-stocked that I have never seen in any previous rentals that I have rented from. Landscaping is impeccable and the serene setting is second to none. Sunsets are gorgeous. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely return.

maine experience

my wife and I have been rented through VRBO for ten years and we have never seen a house so well stocked with everything you would need from Kitchen stuff to bathroom and bedroom linens. We had a issue with the propane tank on the grill, I called Alan he told me the place to go to get a new tank ( 1 mile away) and he sent me the money for it with in 2 hours. We did day trips tp places and it so nice to just come and have a cocktail on the porch looking at the water. The view of the water and all the boats from the porch is excellent. Alan has sent me all sorts of places to go including phone #'s and e-mail address so we could book our day time cruises ahead of time which was a big help. would definitely go back if given the chance.

Delightful cottage

This charming cottage is a delight! It features both a rear deck and a lovely side dining porch both overlooking the waterfront. In the event of rain the view from each window provides a treat. The flowering gardens surrounding it have been carefully planned & maintained so every room has a relaxing and beautiful vista. The country cottage kitchen is well stocked & colorful and provides the perfect oversink window scenes - out to the water, past healthy herb plants that guests are encouraged to add to their cuisine. Highly recommend!

Beautiful paradise!

Peace of Maine cottage should be called piece of heaven! Everything about this place was wonderful! It was spotlessly clean with every amenity you could possibly need. My husband and I spent a week here traveling from Michigan and used this as our homebase while traveling up and down the coast of Maine. Contact with the owners was seamless. Watched the sunset every evening from the comfort of the spacious deck. The only downside….having to leave!

Vacation to New Harbor area

Property was very impressive. The owners are meticulous about ensuring that all of the kitchen items and items are identified and it is incredibly well organized. The grounds are beautiful and the views of the harbor are exceptional. I can't say enough positives about our stay and we really enjoyed our vacation.

The house was amazing - very clean, had everything you could possibly need, including really well stocked kitchen. The view was even better than the pictures. And the location is great - very quiet, not too far from Damariscotta but lots of great things to do even closer.

Best vacation rental property ever!

My wife and I have stayed at many vacation rental properties in recent years. Peace of Maine is by far the best that we have ever rented. The house is tastefully decorated and the landscaping is phenomenal. Flowers and ornamentals surround the entire property. The property is equipped with every possible amenity that one could ever need or want. The house and grounds are immaculate. The views of the boat filled harbor from the kitchen, dining and living rooms are gorgeous. The hosts, Alan and Gosia are gracious and accommodating. We would recommend the property to anyone and hope that we will have the pleasure of staying at the Peace of Maine again soon!

A slice of heaven!

The house was comfortable, well decorated and spotless. Everything you could possibly need was supplied. The view of the harbor was so relaxing and gorgeous with multiple seating areas to watch the the movement of the tides. Very quiet and peaceful setting, just what we needed!

Lovely spot!

We loved the house, lots of glass, which let the outdoors in, interesting views no matter what the weather. And inside the house, everything one could imagine that anyone might need. In beautiful condition, and very cheerful. Outdoors, gardens planted with perennials and annuals for summer color. The owners were very helpful when we contacted them.

Cozy Maine Retreat

We enjoyed our week in this cheerful, tastefully decorated cottage. The view of the river was lovely and the gardens and potted plants added to the beauty of the property. The location was ideal for the sightseeing we planned to do. The kitchen was well equipped and using the fiesta ware a special treat for the meals we ate “at home”. We all felt very comfortable and relaxed at Peace of Maine cottage. A great vacation retreat.

A wonderful cottage that is more like visiting a friend's home than a vacation rental. Just like the pictures. Everything is beautifully organized and maintained, the kitchen has anything you could want, and, if you are visiting off-season, the heater in the large common room is fast and effective at dealing with any morning chill. Great location for day trips or quiet times watching the birds and boats from the beautiful front deck. Can't wait to come back!

Simply beautiful!

What a beautiful home in an exquisite location. Alan and Gosia really thought of everything we could need during our stay. We worked half days and had a blast exploring the area once we finished work each day. We loved the lighthouse, kayaking with Maine Kayak, visiting the trolls at the Central Maine Botanical Gardens, hiking the area trails, going sailing with Sail Muscongus, visiting a real alpaca farm at Cape Newagen Alpaca Farm, and spending time in all the nearby downtown areas. Of course, plenty of lobster was consumed during the week as well. Thanks for the gift card to the Cupboard Cafe. We went twice and loved it there. Their cinnamon rolls were the best we ever had! We hope to visit again. Thank you.

A Wonderful Experience

My family and I have vacationed in midcoast Maine for nearly 40 years. Peace of Maine was one of our very best stays. The cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable with a beautifully organized and well equipped kitchen. The hosts were very welcoming. We were greeted with a lovely bouquet of flowers and a gift certificate to a local cafe. We hope to return again next year!
