Very nice place, clean and well-provisioned (three different kinds of coffee-makers, etc.). Great yard and of course, excellent access to the White River.
We really enjoyed our stay in Cotter. This house is in a great location, close to the park with a swimming hole and great fishing. Lots of seating and very cozy. Highly recommend!
I nice little "old school" remodeled house in historic Cotter neighborhood. Reminded me of my grandmother's home in the early 1970s (when I first began coming to the area for fishing and canoeing). Less than 5 minutes from the Rainbow bridge and the AGFC launch ramp. My fishing buddy and I enjoyed the sun room/dining area, the beds were comfortable, the bath was kinda old school, but had a great shower and plenty of towels-washcloths, etc. We enjoyed the living room with all sorts of books and satellite TV, the kitchen had all the usual gadgets (except a dishwasher - no big deal for us, and if you want to mash potatoes, bring your own masher - we could not find one). The left rear burner on the electric stove had only one setting, high, but we figured it out. The rental; rate was VERY economical when compared to other possibilities. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Thank you for offering your house!
We loved the house. Our host thought of everything from buttercreamy soft sheets to a box of first aid supplies. There were coloring books, good DVDs, plenty of towels, kitchen equipment and so on. The pictures are current and accurate. Our host gave clear and easy instructions. Would happily stay here again.
This home was a beautiful old home with vintage decor. As soon as I walked in I felt like I was back in my childhood at my Grannny and Papa’s home😍Very clean and actually very peaceful being that it’s in a neighborhood. Everything in the home that we needed to make a great stay. Cotter is a beautiful place I 10/10 recommend this beautiful home and a visit to Cotter.
Owner was very prompt when responding to email. House had everything we needed for cooking. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Quiet neighborhood. We met the neighbors across the street, they are gold, everyone should have a neighbor like these two. Big yard. We didn’t use it but available is a deck, picnic table and grill/smoker.
We would stay here again.
Overall our stay was pleasant. The owner was flexible with check-in and out. It was dog friendly and there were toys for my kids to play with, which they really enjoyed. Unfortunately, it did not appear a walk through had been completed prior to us checking in. There were dead ants all over the kitchen sink and counters and there was an ant trap up with the dishes. There were dirty towels already in the hamper and an empty soap dispenser in the bathroom.

Great for a family
My family stayed in this rental in April 2017. Our reason for visiting was to meet up with a group of friends that were trout fishing on the White River. The house had everything we needed. Linens, towels, a fully stocked kitchen, crayons and coloring books for our kids, etc. The only thing I would had would be a basic mixing bowl to the kitchen cabinets--otherwise it was perfect. The Cotter, Arkansas area is truly beautiful. There's not tons of activities, but if you just want to enjoy nature, this is a great place. The cable tv was a bonus for our 5 year old. He enjoyed watching cartoons at night after being outside all day.

Me and my friend stayed here during our girls trip. It was an adorable little town with so much to do down by the water. It’s also not far from the Buffalo river. Everything was clean and very accommodating!

Ok last minute find
I booked this trip last minute and for the price could have found something else. The house is old and does have a lot of charm, but also a lot of potential. Is in a good location and has a washer and dryer. The furniture is vintage, but in good shape, and just hard to relax on. There are areas of drywall cut out and covered with fabric. Grill is a smoker that has a missing handle and char from lid fell onto food upon closing. Drawer with pot holder had mouse droppings in it and the door to the basement left wide open and locked sitting off to the side. Check in was at noon, arrived shortly after 1pm, and had to call to receive code for door as was not emailed as stated it would be
Very quiet area, we had 2 dogs that I had to walk several times a day. We would walk to downtown Cotter and to the white river walk in where the dogs would swim. Plenty of grassy areas for the dogs. Everybody was so friendly and Becky at the Post Office was a big help with us getting our mail (and always had a cookie for the dogs)
This house was definitely a pleasant surprise! It is much bigger than the pictures show, is very very clean, and the rooms are newly painted in beautiful colors. Lots of antique furniture and comfortable beds helped us to relax and enjoy our stay. There were plenty of dishes for any type of cooking that we wanted to do, and the sunroom was amazing for sitting out early in the mornings with a cup of coffee.
Lovely, cozy cabin in Cotter. Close to everything we wanted or needed. Made for a great base during the weekend of my mothers funeral. No contact check-in and check-out made for smooth arrival and departure.
This was a comfortable and convenient place to stay. We enjoyed the back yard and back deck, and really appreciated the communication with the owner leading up to our stay.
This home had everything we needed for our stay. It was very comfortable and spacious the neighborhood is quiet. Great location and value for the money. The books and games were an added bonus. Sunroom is lovely. Full washer and dryer were helpful.
Comfortable, convenient to where we needed to be, plenary of room.

About the host

Our family purchased The Fishin' House many years ago and, with the help of knowledgable family and friends, and talented hired help, renovated it from the ground up. It was a big, fun, successful project! Now we enjoy maintaining and improving the house regularly to keep it a fun and relaxing.

Cotter is a nice small town with a beautiful hilly landscape of hardwood forest and stunning valley views. We feel at home while visiting our bright, clean and comfortable vacation house to relax and have a good time!
What makes this property unique
We especially enjoy playing in the large yard, relaxing on the deck, taking walks around the neighborhood, swimming in the spring, boating on nearby Bull Shoals or Norfork lake, floating and splashing in the rivers and of course the fishing!
