This spacious and accommodating 3 bedroom, 2 bath home is centrally located in a prestigious South Shore neighborhood, at the end of a cul-de-sac, in the heart of Poipu. 1800 sqft one level gives a spacious setting with no stairs. The outdoor Atrium nestled in the middle of the home adds to its appeal, with double french doors to a private courtyard in the back fully fenced yard gives privacy and is a perfect place for barbecuing. This property makes this the perfect spot for any vacation!
Available with this property are tennis courts and pool access within Subdivision. Within 50' of the front door is a park like green belt with a walking and biking path to the famous Poipu beach, and The Hyatt Hotel. The Hyatt hotel has seven Gourmet Restaurants located within, 6 Lounges serving fine wines, specialty cocktails and premium liquors are also available. The Luau Show on Thursdays and Sundays includes a Hawaiian buffet and showcases traditional Polynesian dance and culture. The ANARA Spa and Salon features massage therapy, Hawaiian body and facial treatments and hair care. A championship 18-hole golf course and pro shop, 3 tennis courts and pro shop, water sports center with equipment rental and horse stables are all on site. Wonderful home for our Kauai vacation! Perfect location to walk to the Hyatt or down to Brenneckes beach. Home was great for a family of 5 and was well equipped. There is a cute outdoor shower and hammock that we loved as well as a ton of supples for outdoor activities! Would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed access to the beach with the ability to get away from the crowds. Great place to enjoy a quiet morning or evening. Our family could be together but also had room for people to have their own space. It was a nice week we will always remember.

This was an amazing place to stay. The house was super comfortable, spacious, and clean. It had everything we needed. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. It is an easy walk to beaches (Poipu usually has turtles). There is also a pool close by in case you need a quick cool down, or an easier trip than a beach. We would absolutely stay here again.

The house is charming, beautiful, clean, has comfortable beds, and is in a wonderful quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who wants to stay in Poipu. The beach was more like 10 minutes rather than 2 though. Other than that, it was a Hawaiian heaven.

The stay was a welcomed respite from winter

Mother celebrated her 90th while in Poipu and did so in style. Accessibility was adequate with no stairs and comfortable beds and walk in shower. Higher toilets and a couple of safety bars would have made it perfect. The electric lazy boy was a bonus for her. Clean, well lit and ventilated. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Poipu.

What an amazing house! Hosts were responsive and helpful. We had an issue with the garbage disposal and help was sent immediately. There is a binder with house rules that is a little out of date. We didn't know what to do with the recycling or what the hosts needed in terms of check out which caused some upset. More specific direction in these two areas would have been helpful, but overall a wonderful time.

Practically Perfect

This house was somehow better than the listing. So spacious and the property is beautiful with a great back patio space and cozy indoor/outdoor courtyard. Ten minute walk to several different beaches, a walking trail along the sea cliffs, amazing snorkelling, neighborhood pool, and more! I was initially concerned the walk would be too much for my 70 year old mom to do every day but she did great and was a little over a half mile to anything. The neighborhood is like a resort property so access to restaurants nearby as well. I don't think this house has bikes anymore.

Hard to Recommend: Good Location but Not as Described

The house is located in great spot and very clean. The listing includes air conditioning (A/C) and it was a major factor in choosing this listing. We had 3 people over 75 with us. The book of house rules state, "The ACs in the Home are not connected, consider them decoration please, as they do not work." We have photos of the pages. Since this isn't a hotel and we cannot just pick another room, we opted to make the best of it. Several days were in the 90s and even with the house open, sleeping was difficult for our oldest three. We contacted the host and requested a partial refund, but have not heard back for over 10 days.

Beautiful house, but no hot water :(

The house and yard were both beautiful. Great layout, well-maintained and walkable to two beaches, several restaurants and shops via the pedestrian greenbelt. Would have given it five stars, but there is no hot water in the house. The booklet with house instructions says this is intentional, and that the hot water heater is on a timer and will not come on during the day, but we found that there was no hot water at all (day or night). This made bath time for our toddler a miserable experience, and left us feeling that our dishes were never really clean. I get the need to conserve but think this decision deserves a second look.

Property was not as described

The listing indicated air conditioning. While one bedroom had an aircondistioning unit that worked well, the rest of the house only has 1 unit in the kitchen which did not provide any coolness to either of the remaining 2 bedrooms nor the bathroom. The bedrooms were extremely hot and difficult to sleep in. The property owner - actually previous owner as the property was sold the day we checked in - was extremely rude, hanging up on me several times. She was brash and completely unhelpful. We were able to reach the new owner who was a pleasure to work with, providing floor fans to help alleviate some of the sweltering heat in the bedrooms. I will never do business with the previous property owner/host, Shelley Carlson. It is otherwise a beatiful property.

Deceptive descriptions

The house was advertised as air-conditioned but had only 2 cooling units, one in the kitchen and one in the master bedroom. The dining room, queen bedroom, twin bed room, and shared bath were uncomfortably hot. We were there in July 2023, and I would not have chosen this house if I had known about this problem. The day we arrived, there was no water in either shower. The husband of the house cleaner came and was able to get the shared bath shower to work, but the master shower only had water on the massage setting. It stopped working altogether later in the week. It was attached to the wall with a magnet, and fell off during my shower, hitting me in the head and causing a small lump. After many calls to the owner, it was finally replaced after we had been in the house for 7 days. Lastly, the house was advertised as having pool access. This was important to our two teenagers. We told the owner several times that the fob to open the pool did not work. The manager of the subdivision told us that the owner had to contact a locksmith to fix the problem. We never had pool access during the 10 days of our stay. Another issue was that the tenant's information book said that there were 2 bikes available, but there were not.

Amazing Home

Really felt like home. The house was clean, had everything anyone would need for a vacation in Kauai - outdoor items (big ones too) as well. Kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of utensils and appliances. Layout of the house was really nice and location was superb.

Wunderbare Zeit in Poipu!

Wir verbrachten auf unserer diesjährigen Hawaii-Reise 13 wunderbare Tage in Poipu in diesem wunderschönen Haus. Es war für uns ideal gelegen; fußläufig erreichbar waren die schönsten Strände, die Nachbarschaft war absolut ruhig und die Ausstattung des Hauses ließ keine Wünsche offen. Mit viel Liebe zum Detail ist es eingerichtet und entsprach in allen Belangen der Beschreibung. Leider waren die Fahrräder gerade nicht verfügbar und auch der Wäschetrockner funktionierte nicht, was für uns aber nicht weiter schlimm war. Wir genossen die Zeit sehr und hoffen, vielleicht eines Tages an diesen wunderbaren Ort zurückkehren zu können. Dank an Shelley und ihre Familie, dass wir Gast in ihrem hübschen Haus sein durften! Perfect Relaxing Retreat

Beautifully decorated and nestled in a welcoming neighborhood! Our family of five ( with 3 being tall, teenage boys) was very comfortable in this home. We all had plenty of room to spread out- especially loved the atrium room. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook each night. We made a trip to Safeway ( about 25 minutes from the house) to stock up at the beginning of our visit and we were all set for the entire stay. It was a short 10 minute walk to either Brennecke's Beach or Shipwreck Beach. You can also drive to both if you wanted to. Shipwreck was our son's favorite for great body surfing. The house was the perfect setting to come home to and relax each day after playing at the beach. The outdoor shower and private yard was perfect to keep the sand out of the house! The house had plenty of boogie boards, mini coolers, beach umbrella, beach towels, etc. You just need to bring yourself! The homeowner Shelley was very easy to work with and made the whole booking process enjoyable! We would definitely book this home again. It was exactly what we were looking for. A very comfortable home away from home!

Lovely & comfortable home

The location is great. The home is well furnished and nicely decorated, and it has a well appointed kitchen. The beach towels, chairs, umbrella & boogie boards were much appreciated. The outdoor grill worked great. The design and layout of the home was very comfortable. We were not put off by lack of AC, but we understand for some that might be a downside. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this property.

Disappointed with Owner

We do not recommend renting this property. Our family of six spent ten days in the home, which fit us comfortably and and was a nice location. Sadly, however, we found the owner, Shelley, to be unreasonable and unjust to the extent that it soured the entire vacation experience for us. Early in our stay, a dining chair broke under normal use (scooting out from the table) and we contacted Shelley. She gave us no instructions on how to proceed. Ultimately we were shocked to discover on checkout that she had withheld well over half of our damage deposit for "abuse" without any notice or ability to contest the charge. It was an absurd experience that made us wonder how we could have possibly avoided such a situation, given that we had been completely honest with Shelley, tried to communicate with her clearly, and cared for the house responsibly. There are many other vacation rentals in the area we would advise you to seek out instead to avoid the stress of dealing with an unreasonable and inconsiderate owner.

Why they chose this property

We first came to this island 22 years ago. 2 years into our return we purchased a condo on the east shore of which we owned until recently. We purchased this home over 8 years ago as our family grew. Our granddaughter spent the first month of her life at our home and has come every Christmas since along with our Grandson of whom has spent the last 8 years of his life doing the same. Prior to grandchildren, our daughter came with us to this most beautiful island for many years prior. This home is indescribable really. There is so much privacy with each room being completely separated from the other. See photos of which do the property justice.

What makes this property unique

This home was centrally located to everything we love. The beach, the 'green belt' with the path for walking or cycling, the close proximity to the Hyatt Hotel, with pools and lagoons, not to mention less than a less than 2 min walk to the famous Poipu Beach. Private back yard with an outdoor shower, in a prestigious South Shore Neighborhood, at the end of a cul-de-sac road.
