We had a celestial feast during our stay here! The peak of the Perseid meteor shower was on our first night and it was grand! We are already making our plans for next year to stay and enjoy the view! The owner was helpful and we had most everything we needed! Go Bills!
We had family converge from multiple states and the house was fantastic for our group. It was plenty big, the kitchen was well stocked and the property was very private. Activities were all about an hour away which renters should know, but the views from the deck were absolutely incredible.
We were happy with our stay and blown away by the view and privacy. It’s a special property with great potential. The property could use some general maintenance (torn screens, rotting wood, etc) and a deep clean. But if you’re looking for something rustic off the grid, it’s perfect.
WOW. The photos don't do the view justice. We enjoyed a family reunion using both the main cabin and the smaller cottage. We always go to Saratoga for a day each August and were excited to find this new place. We played games in the main room, enjoyed sunrises on the deck each morning, and watched in awe of a powerful set of thunderstorms rolled in and over the mountains. We enjoyed a plethora of rainbows and still were able to utilize the fire pit for a few as well. Loved the plethora of counter space in both houses for food prep and spreads. We loved it and can't wait to return.
Arrived at the property and it was open as discussed with the host. Home is well stocked and comfortable. It is a bit of a drive to Saratoga or Lake George with no fast way to get there. Local creamery had great ice cream. Driveway is mostly dirt, long and steep however my 59yr old car made it up. We didn't use the fire pit. The house could use some moderate maintenance. Many windows wouldn't open and screens were torn on sliding doors. Neither affected our stay but some might be a little put off. We enjoyed coffee on the deck with a magnificent view of the valley below and mountains in the background. Nighttime stars were impressive too since there is little light pollution nearby. We spent time at the SPAC, Lake George, and downtown Saratoga Springs. We would stay here again
The absolute best thing about this property is the view from the living room over the mountains. What a view! The house was well-equipped with kitchen items and comfortable seating. ots of places to go, all within a 30 minute drive. Tony was very conscientious and texted to let us know about things like propane delivery. There are a few parts of the house that could use some updating, but overall it was a nice relaxing stay with our family and dog during the last week in December.
The photos really don't do it justice. The massive windows and the view overlooking the mountains is like I've never seen before. The entire process was so smooth and Tony was always one call a way if we needed anything
Beautiful spot with best view. You feel like you can see forever.
Great vacation with our daughters and grandkids!! Views from the house are spectacular. Was a perfect location as we had family near by. The ice cream creamy that you can see in the view has very yummy ice cream. Lots to do in the area with drives 20-30 mins from the house. Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy.
We spent a lovely time at this home over Christmas. We enjoyed the extraordinary views and the comfortable layout. This is a unique and very special property.
It is a great place to getaway from city life. You are in another world when you are there.

Extraordiary Retreat on a Mountain!
What a wonderful way to celebrate New Years with friends! Top of the World Compound is beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. The views of the mountains and valley from the floor to ceiling windows are incredible - one member of our group said she felt like a pilot in a plane, getting ready to land in the beautiful valley below! Top of the World Compound held our group of 8 adults comfortably. The kitchen and living area with fireplace were cozy - the perfect spot for conversation and games! We slept well in 4 private bedrooms! We enjoyed walking on the road down to the pond, and also exploring in the vast woods! We wondered about the history of the Compound - it must have quite a story to tell! It was a perfect spot for our group and we will look forward to another visit!

Relaxation at its best!
Unfortunately, the spectacular fall views that we hoped to see were obscured by fog for most of the weekend, but it didn't matter. We were still able to take advantage of proximity to outlet shopping in Manchester, VT, do a little antiquing and even catch a road bike ride in between the rain. The best part is returning to relaxing evenings by the fire and a living space large and open enough for family games when the weather won't cooperate. All the amenities you could need are provided and Tony is always responsive and accommodating to his guest's needs and concerns. We just love Top of the World and are so grateful to have such great place to stay when we return to Washington County.

Stunning views from this secluded hilltop retreat!
Could not have asked for more. Tony was extremely hospitable, the wall of windows overlooking the valley below made it tempting to just stay in with a bottle of wine, and the local towns and countryside are charming beyond belief. This is a great place to get off the grid and unwind - with all the modern conveniences of home (thanks to solar and propane!). We’ll be back!!

Amazing views and wonderful house
The old, but cozy and comfortable house with almost everything you need. You have to take your own towels and bed lines, but it was not a problem for us. the most important thing is an amazing and stunning views from living room or outdoor deck. You can stay there all day and night just admiring the fields and hills from the top of the rock. The moon and sunrise are the best at this property.

Wonderful!
We had a wonderful time on this beautiful mountainside in a comfy house with everything we needed to enjoy our time there. The view is beyond amazing. The constant shifting of light and clouds on the mountains is mesmerizing. Sunrise, sunset, stars, and we woke up to about 6 inches wondrous fluffy snow. The best! Lots to do all around which we hope can explore more the next time we can come--Saratoga, Lake George, Hildene, Manchester, Bennington, fishing on the Battenkill, Grandma Moses, and just being peaceful in a beautiful place. The owners were very helpful, promptly available and friendly. Thanks to the caretaker, too, who is very attentive. Hope to be back someday!
