Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Not so dog friendly
Renting the property was easy although it takes pets. Garden was not very large and no easy walks near property so we couldn’t get the dog out to play. Property although nice could do with an upgrade.

CHECK FOR YOURSELF!
We thought this lovely review was because when you get caught brining dogs that were not on your booking and having to pay for them on the day of checkout was RATHER EMBARRASSING. Our 27 acres of field to the front and very visible photos of the large enclosed garden and walks explicitly mentioned in our house book puts this to rest.
We take horses as well as dogs, our 18 year experience needs no upgrades
There was a Christmas tree and decorations which made the house feel quite festive.
The house was very comfortable and warm with plenty of space for the family of 5 adults and a dog.
The facilities were a bit mixed -
The living room tv was not working but this was sorted quite quickly.
The kitchen is great to cook in but could do with another fridge or wine cooler as only a standard under worktop one provided. Not quite enough for lots of food and drinks.
The downstairs bathroom shower was electric and did not work for 3 days . The host did try come over to look at it but we were not in as busy out and about visiting family and friends. I think that better communication would have meant we could have ensured that someone was at home to allow it to be repaired . We managed work with the upstairs shower for the rest of the holiday.
Although there were a few issues we would definitely stay there again.
Our daughters booked this for our 30th wedding anniversary. 6 of us in total including Stella (our Frenchie). It was a lovely surprise and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the house.
The house was huge, very well equipped and of a high standard.
We had a lovely relaxing weekend and would highly recommend this to other families.
We flew in from United States and had been up over 24 hours. Yvonne was very accommodating and made sure to get the house ready for us carlier then what we were supposed to check in at. Bless her we just needed to lay our heads down for a bit. She does many nice little touches to make you feel at home and welcome. The house is about half an hour from Glasgow and 1 mile from the cute town of Strathaven were there are two grocery stores, butcher shops and places to eat. We live in the country, so to lis it was so nice to leave the rat race of the cities to relax at night. The beds are very comfortable and the house is cozy. We enjoyed our stay there very much,
We had a great time only problem was unlocking the front door but finally did it. The house was beautiful and the beds a little hard, a great experience

A beautiful, spacious home in which to relax
We booked the property for a family get-together to celebrate a special birthday and anniversary together and it provided the perfect place for the event. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped into the house where a wee dram of excellent whiskey and tablet for each guest awaited us on the kitchen table along with a card from the owner welcoming our family.
The property was clean, comfortable, warm and cosy which was appreciated due to the inclement weather experienced during our visit. The extra little touches like the beautiful flowers in the kitchen, the full fruit bowl and cupboard full of all those little things one often forgets to pack made for a very pleasant visit.
Everything within the property was of a high standard giving a feeling of comfort and luxury.
It was lovely to meet the owner too.

Shocking
Cooker broke down , boiler broken no hot water or heating, dead rats and birds on driveway to property. Taps in bathroom sink were loose and if you put plug in you could not remove it.

Absolutely amazing
I booked this lovely property to celebrate mum's 80th Birthday. She did not want a big fuss made, just a quiet celebration with myself, sister and niece, it was such a lovely surprise to us all when we arrived at the property, it looked absolutely amazing on the website and it certainly did not disappoint, we all fell instantly in love with the place. It was so comfortable and welcoming, it met all our needs and made our stay so very special. Yvonne is so friendly, welcoming and very thoughtful, the little touches were so much appreciated. So thank you Yvonne, from the bottom of our hearts, your lovely, amazing, property made our stay so very very special. I would definately recommend this gorgeous place to family, friends and anyone that appreciates beautiful places.

Impressed on entering the place and the quality of the furnishings and accessories is exceptional.
The only downfall was the heating and the hot water which unfortunately kept failing. Yvonne was very helpful and friendly and did her utmost to rectify the problem.

This house and area are BEAUTIFUL!!
This farmhouse is HUGE and accomodated our family of six including two kids, ages 5 and 9 and my parents. Yvonne greeted us with Whiskey shots and milk in the fridge. This place has everything you could ever hope or need. The kitchen is amazing. She and her daughter Naomi were as kind and generous as ever (but completely left us alone). Its location is a central point to both the northern highlands and the southwestern beaches (Ayr) of Scotland. It was perfect.

Exceptional stay!
Our 12 day family vacation in the UK was already going so well but our arrival at this Glasgow cottage was the icing on the cake! Not only did we feel so welcomed by our host and made to feel completely "at home", this cottage is for those that want to just relax and enjoy the setting.
Highly recommend for families that want to stay close, yet just far enough from the city, to enjoy the countryside but want to take a drive to Glasgow and enjoy the sights! Can't thank our host enough for such a nice setting. All the necessary accommodations and comforts were available. Would definitely stay again on next trip. Great for all types of families!
