IL FIENILE DI PENELOPE is a typical Tuscan farmhouse on two levels recently renovated. Kitchen / living room with sofa bed, double bedroom + single bed, bathroom with shower box. Equipped kitchen. Bed linen and towels provided, satellite TV. WIFI. Ideal for lovers of relaxation and nature. Garden equipped with deck chairs, umbrella, tables, chairs and barbecue. Small prefabricated swimming pool above ground 5m x5mx1.3h.
The barn is ideally located 10 KM away from the Montecatini Terme train station where, 30 minutes away, you can reach the tourist cities of Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Viareggio ... where you can admire the artistic and landscape beauties of the art cities of Pisa, Lucca, Florence, Siena, Pistoia Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi. Il Fienile is located near Marliana, where you can find markets, bars, restaurants, pharmacy, bank and post office.
During the summer in the nearby villages of Massa, Buggiano, Serravalle, Uzzano, festivals and village festivals are held where you can admire the customs, crafts and foods of the Tuscan tradition. A few km away you can find the town of Collodi, the birthplace of Carlo Lorenzini author of Pinocchio and visit the famous park.
The Penelope barn is the ideal place to spend your holidays in peace, surrounded by nature.

Tuscany - May 2024

We stayed entire month of May. Had a fantastic time. Used as a base to travel thru much of Tuscany. Hosts' Christiano & Alessandra were great and very accommodating. The drive from Marliana was always an adventure!! Would highly recommend.

Géniale petite maison

L'endroit est très tranquille, au milieu de la nature. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et très discrets. Le jardin est magnifique. Tout correspond parfaitement à la description.

A relaxing location

The property was really nicely presented, small but with everything we needed. Access to the pool was as and when we required and it was just right for our family. The hosts were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Erwartungen waren wohl zu hoch

Um das Objekt zu erreichen ist es zwingend erforderlich, ein Auto zu haben. Das Haus liegt sehr weit oben und ist nur mit einem Auto über eine sehr enge, steile Straße zu erreichen. Wir haben jedes Mal gut 20 Minuten für die ça. 8km gebraucht. Man kann nicht mal eben noch in ein Restaurant oder eine Bar gehen, um den Abend ausklingen zu lassen oder ähnliches. Auf den Fotos ist ein großer Garten/Außenbereich mit tollen Sitzmöglichkeiten zu sehen, diese gehören jedoch nicht zur Unterkunft. Am Haus selbst gibt es 4 weiße Plastikstühle, die teilweise kaputt sind und einen kleinen Tisch. Der Pool darf zwar genutzt werden, steht aber auf dem Grundstück der Vermieter und man fühlt sich beobachtet. Wenigstens war er sauber. Ich habe 2 Pfannen im Backofen gefunden, diese waren jedoch so fettig (mit großen, alten Fettaugen drumherum) und haben nach altem Fett gestunken, dass einem der Appetit vergeht. Auf den ersten Blick sieht es innen sauber aus, guckt man genauer hin, findet man aber überall alten Staub. Wir sind 2 Tage früher abgereist. Das einzig positive ist eben der Preis und die Klimaanlage im Obergeschoss. Für uns leider ein Reinfall.

Lovely little home in the hills

My husband and I together with our two girls 8 & 10 have just spent a lovely week here. The house was well equipped with everything we needed including towels, cleaning products and condiments. You’ll definitely need a car to get about but otherwise it’s perfectly located for day trips to Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano, Lucca but the bonus for is was being able to come home to our little place of paradise and jump in the pool all to ourselves. Would definitely recommend!

La fienile di Penelope

Es war ein herrlicher Aufenthalt in absoluter Ruhe, Natur pur zum genießen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, alles sehr schön und gemütlich. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind prima zu erreichen, am Haus gibt es einen Pool, sowie Sonnenliegen und einen wunderschönen Sitzplatz. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und helfen bei allen Fragen. Wer Leben und Unterhaltung braucht ist hier sicher falsch, aber für uns war es genau richtig und wir haben uns wunderbar erholt. Wir kommen sehr gerne noch einmal wieder!

Calm and relaxing

We had a wonderful stay at this place located in the mountains between Florence and Pisa. Perfect for relaxation, painting, easy cooking and listening to audio books. Extra plus for the pool and the aircondition upstairs because it was pretty warm weather during this period.

heerlijk genoten in dit mooie huisje

Dit mooie huisje staat op een berg waar je eerst wel met smalle weggetjes naar toe moet, maar eenmaal aangekomen kun je heerlijk genieten van alle rust om je heen.In het zwembad konden we af en toe heerlijk afkoelen. De eigenaren zijn vriendelijk en gastvrij. Dit is een prima uitvalsbasis om naar verschillende plaatsen en bezienswaardigheden te gaan.

Superbes vacances toscanes

Acceuil tres chaleureux et convivial de la part des propriétaires. Très jolie maison en pierre avec beaucoup de cachet et spacieuse. Jardin magnifique et reposant. Paysages environnants toscans splendides avec de petits villages nichés en haut de collines recouvertes d'oliviers. Situation idéale pour visiter Codolli, Lucca, Pise, Florence, Sienne grâce à la gare qui se trouve à 10-15 minutes de la maison. Sejour inoubliable que je recommande vivement pour de belles vacances toscanes!

Charming home in the countryside above it all

This was exactly what our family of four (with a 3 and 5 year old) were looking for. A hillside home in Tuscany with space to run, an above ground swimming pool and a beautiful view. Far enough off a narrow paved road that we could truly enjoy time with our family. Bonuses were our fine hosts and a nice running path through the woods. We hope to return someday.

Il luogo e'incastonato nelle colline della valdinievole e la strada che conduce al casale e' una panoramica che fa apprezzare lo stupendo panorama offerto dalla citta' di montecatini e la valle sottostante ,le foto rispecchiano fedelmente la realta' il giardino ben curato e vibile fa apprezzare i profumi e i colori tipicamente toscani, i luoghi di interesse storico culturale sono a pochi chilometri e facile da raggiungere, i propietari sono una coppia gentile e disponibile a consigli e dritte sui luoghi da visitare .

WE VERY MUCH ENJOYED OUR STAY AT THE barn IN MARLIANA. THE HOUSE IS SUPERB AND HAD ALL THE NECESSARY APPLIANCES TO MAKE OUR STAY COMFORTABLE. THE HOUSE IS VERY CLEAN, WELL-MAINTAINED AND NICELY DECORATED. IT IS ALSO VERY WELL LOCATED TO MAKE EXCURSIONS TO LUCCA, PISA, FIRENZE AND OTHER VERY NICE TOWNS & CITIES NEARBY. THE OWNERS ARE VERY FRIENDLY, HELPFUL AND MADE US FEEL VERY WELCOME. I WOULD CERTAINLY CONSIDER SPENDING ONE OF OUR NEXT VACATIONS THERE AGAIN

nice barn, ideal location

the "BARN" in Tuscan style, newly renovated, fully furnished, with every comfort is surrounded by beautiful garden with olive trees, flowers and herbs, barbecue, bicycles, and outdoor pool. Hill, 15 km from the railway station of Montecatini Terme, where in 30 minutes you can reach the city of Florence, Fiesole, Pisa, Lucca, Viareggio and Pistoia .. The Barn is the perfect place to relax in peace and quiet, surrounded by nature, after a day in the city. The owners are very welcoming and helpful, live nearby. Possibility of tasting local products (wine, olive oil ...). The announcement corresponds perfectly to the description of the house. We had a great time. I recommend everyone this house, everything was perfect

c'est beau

tres beau sejour dans un endroit toscan tres agreable a 400 m d'altitude.la mason est belle,bien equipee et pratique. Les hospitants son tres accullellants et disretes. A 20 mn de la gare de Montecatini Terme il est facile d'aller a Firenze,Lucca ou Pisa par le train. LE ballades dasns les villages autour de Marliana nous laissent de couvir le paysage de la Toscane. " C'est beau"

il fienile é incantevole,situato in colina,interamente ristrutturato, pulito,ordinato con ogni confort. CIrcondato da un delizioso giardino attrezzato. In 12 km si raggiunge la stazione ferroviaria di Montecatini Terme, da cui in 30 minuti si arriva a Firenze,Pisa,Lucca,Viareggio... I proprietari sono gentili e disponibili e vivono nelle vicinanze del fienile.Ci hanno offerto un'ottima degustazione di prodotti tipici toscani. Tutto é stato perfetto. Una vacanza da ripetere. Voto 10
