Willow Mill & Little Barn - Idyllic mill house and barn near Port Isaac

In the heart of the beautiful village of St Kew near Port Issac, a comfortable converted mill and barn (sleeps 8 and 4 respectively) set within wonderful peaceful gardens with woodland and a stream. Nestled below the village church of St James and a short walk from the renowned St Kew Inn. Ideally located close to Port Isaac (Doc Martin), Polzeath (for surfing), Rock (sailing and windsurfing) and Padstow. A wonderful private place to retreat to after a day at the beach, sightseeing or walking the coastal path. Changeover day is Saturday unless otherwise agreed with the owner.

Willow Mill and Little Barn share the same plot and are situated at either end of a 100m private drive, ideal accommodation for groups of friends and larger family groups. Willow Mill sits at the top of the drive and sleeps 8 people in four bedrooms (two super kings, one twin, one twin/superking zip and link). Little Barn, at the bottom drive, accommodates 4 in 3 bedrooms (one double , two singles in L shape cabin bunks, and one double on a mezzanine). Great for all groups but being two separate buildings it is perfect for groups who may want independence or privacy such as those with young families or possibly grandparents looking for peace and quiet. A travel cot and high chair are at your disposal in both properties

Willow Mill and Little Barn are bordered by the River Amble and the village church of St James. The garden has lovely views of the church and if you are lucky you may hear the bells! The woodland area and stream are magical and great fun for exploring and den building. The stream will lead you to a lovely ford and footbridge. (Please see house rules regarding supervision of children and dogs within the grounds). The St Kew Inn is a very short walk away , a great pub serving local ales and delicious food.

Large Family Holiday
Willow Mill is a fabulous house and a great location as near to all the places we love to visit and a short drive to numerous wonderful beaches. The local pub is lovely but a little expensive and we found the gardener and cleaner very helpful at the property. We also rented Little Barn to accommodate us all however this property is not to the same standard as Willow Mill and the mezzanine bedroom is very difficult to use as no head height at all. Sorry to say but the property seems to be very damp. Dispute this we had a lovely stay and a great family holiday and very luckily with the weather.

Beautiful cottage, perfect stay!
We had such a special week staying in both properties with our extended family and newborn baby. The location is great for exploring North Cornwall with one of my favourite pubs- the St Kew Inn a stones throw away. The properties were spacious, homely and immaculately cleaned. We can’t wait to come back!

Lovely location
We loved our time in St Kew, renting both the mill and cottage for a large family holiday. The location is lovely, with almost no traffic on the road outside. The bedrooms are spaced across two floors, giving a bit of privacy for older guests from any screaming kids! Reasonably well stocked kitchen in terms of utensils. The garden is kept in quite a wild state, but there is still room for ball games and a patio for relaxing. Hopefully will visit again in the future.

Willow Mill has been a family home since 1999, we started running it as a holiday let in 2016.

Why they chose this property

The houses are characterful, comfortable and warm. The location in the heart of the village next to the stream, the church and close to the St Kew Inn is magical. Our children love having adventures in the woods, making dens and playing in the stream. It is a great place to unwind after a day at the beach or a long coastal walk.
