Aside from a few tlc needs, the home is well-appointed and functional. It is warm and comfortable. Our family had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving holiday at this house. It was perfect for 7 guests.
The bedroom with twin beds was bit uncomfortable. Both beds squeaked! The bath faucets in the large bedroom were broken did not work properly. We had a little trouble turning the water offWe enjoyed our stay; the energy of the unit was good
This property is a short trip outside Santa Fe. Great place to get away from the city but still close enough to enjoy the town sites and restaurants. The house had plenty room for our family of nine. We would stay there again.
This place was beautiful it was snowing the whole time and that was nice but my kids definantly want to go back in the summer to enjoy all it has to offer. The respo se on messaging the owner was amazing and he let us check in super early it was greatsuper early cery friendly a
We are a family of 8, and the house was perfect for us. There was plenty of room, the kitchen was equipped for large meal prep, and the rooms were clean and comfortable.
I needed a place for my family and I to stay for a wedding, and this house was perfect for all 10 of us to stay comfortably. The home was surprisingly clean and equipped with everything we needed and more.
We wanted a place out of the desert heat to spend time with our daughter, son-in-law, and 3 teenage grandkids. Our kiddos have some special needs that necessitates separate sleeping arrangements. All was perfect and we will definitely be going back.
Out in the southwest country side, so expect to see some bugs and critters. The house is a little run down and the dishwasher didn’t work, but the price and the space is hard to beat. Our family spent Thanksgiving there and cooked everything in the kitchen. Overall, it’s a good bang for your buck.
We had a wonderful stay! It was perfect for our two families. We had a couple of great snows, so the kids had a blast playing in the winter wonderland! Unfortunately the roads weren’t cleared very quickly due to the Thanksgiving holiday and somewhat remoteness of the location, so we ended up stranded for a couple of days. But other than that it was a great house. The owner was very responsive, friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend this home!
Communication with Christopher was easy. He was proactive and responsive. The home had plenty of room for our seven adults. The kitchen was well stocked. A couple of chairs have seen better days. The fenced in backyard was good for our two pups. It was cold and snowy when we arrived, but Christopher had the place lit and warm for us.
Great location being situated on quiet peaceful campgrounds which short trails plus only 20 min from Santa Fe’s rich history, culture and museums.
The full kitchen, patio with grill, 5 bedrooms and 3 baths was perfect for our group of 5 women family members between the ages of 35 and 77. While Verizon cell service was weak we could make calls. The WiFi was reliable and stable.
Christopher our host was quick to respond to any questions we had. Check-in was easy and we felt very welcomed which was greatly appreciated after a long day of travel each of us.
We were there to meet family that we have never met before. Chris was very helpful in planning. He sent out emails prior to arriving with directions and suggestions in the area. After we arrived he had everything prepared and quick to respond when we had questions. The views were amazing and there was plenty of space. It was not far to town and yet far enough away to have time to reflect on the views and quiet surroundings. I would recommend staying here. If we are back in the area we will stay here.

In the Woods
Overall, the property was great for family reunions or large families. It was clean and well taken care of. It is 15 minutes away from town. We were given detailed instructions to the home. I must warn others, cell services in limited ( primarily non-existent). Wifi was very spotty.

It was a pleasure having You stay with us at The Retreat House at Bishop's Ridge in Santa Fe, NM. I am glad You enjoyed Your stay with us.
Yes, it is true, we are on the mountain, and Verizon is the most reliable mobile service that is available in our area until You get closer into town. It does seem like most other services have a week signal in the area of The Retreat House, and we still maintain a phone landline in The Retreat House for guests who's service signal may be week in our area, as a convenience and a safety measure.
Once again, Thank You for staying with us, and I'm glad You and Your guests enjoyed the Santa Fe Art Market.
This was the perfect vacation home for our Santa Fe spring break trip. Two families, 6 individuals, and one dog enjoyed a 5 night stay in this spacious home. Plenty of room to spread out. We enjoyed cooking out several nights. Christopher the property owner was very helpful and so nice! The property is about 20 minutes from town. The drive is quick and easy. Skiing is about 45-60 minutes from the house. The house is very accommodating for large groups and secluded for nice getaways. I would recommend this listing to anyone looking for a nice, quiet, secluded vacation spot in the Santa Fe area!

Don't Do It - Spend Your Money Somewhere Better
I gotta say, i was excited about this stay until day of arrival. The communication was good until we got in the car and made our 6 our journey to Sante Fe. All communication ended. The check in process was unclear, my sister wondered around the property for a few hours trying to figure out how to get in. Upon entry, the home looked like noone had stayed in it for months. Every bathroom, toilet, sink had started to grow mold. They clearly didnt clean the place prior to us arriving as there was still toothpaste "spit" in the master bathroom sink. There were insects all over which we kind of expected with a home in the hills but these insects were not new. They were dead spiders in webbs all over the house. I expected to get a better response from the owner prior to this post but the only thing i received from the assistant was i have sent this to my manager, please complete the survey. That is definitely not the response i was looking for. We rented this home to go to the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival and we will never make this mistake again. I think for future reservations, it is important to set the right expectation. I work in the Luxury Travel Industry and maybe my expectations were just to high for a VRBO proprety. My only feedback to future reservations is DO NOT DO IT

We appreciate your feedback and are so very grateful that you accepted a full refund from us. Please know that due to a scheduling mix up and personnel change the preparation of the Retreat House unknowingly slipped through the cracks. As you noted in your last communication to us" it will only take a few tweaks to remedy the situation", and we are confident that these areas of needed improvement will be addressed. With much appreciation for your understanding.
Bishop's Ridge Management Team
Very comfortable and worked well for our size group. We did a lot of cooking, the kids enjoyed running around in the woods, in the living room area was large enough for our whole group together for activities.
This property puts the “treat” in retreat house. We held a 70th birthday celebration here and had a wonderful time. The house has lots of space and lovely decor. It’s a great space for 10 people, but even for us with 12, there was a large comfortable air mattress and pump available.
The host Christopher was especially wonderful and very communicative. We asked for a couple special requests for the party and he accommodated us perfectly.
We would absolutely stay here again.
We have a big family and were in town for a wedding. The house was clean and well maintained. The location was perfect for us and our stay was very comfortable and stress free! Thank you Christopher for a great experience!
The house is very comfortable with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space and each kid got there own room. Chris had great communication and checking was easy with the key lock box. I highly recommend this house.
