Maison du Lac, located on picturesque Beaucaire Avenue, sits on a quiet, sunny section of magnificent Megunticook Lake. You can swim, boat or fish immediately off your own dock.
In winter, the house becomes a cozy ski cabin located only minutes from the Camden Snow Bowl. The house has a back-up generator in the event of power outages and sits peacefully on the waters edge surrounded only by nature.
The all-wood post and beam interior enjoys lake views from every room. A ground floor to rooftop fieldstone fireplace graces the living area and master bedroom. Relax in a luxurious, leather LLBean Lodge sofa or armchair after a fun day in or on the water, hiking up Maiden's Cliff, strolling through town along the harbor, or sailing on an historic windjammer out on Penobscot Bay, or a day of downhill skiing.
Maison du Lac was completely rebuilt in 2007 and is clean, fresh and modern, while maintaining the cozy charm of a lakefront cabin. The house is southwest facing and enjoys spectacular sunsets.
The property is only three miles from oceanfront downtown Camden and its many restaurants, shops, and attractions.
The location on Megunticook Lake is ideal, in a no-wake zone for boats, so swimming, kayaking or canoeing is safe and calm, and Beaucaire Avenue itself is a quiet, leafy road ideal for walking, biking or jogging. For enthusiastic boaters you have 1300 +/- acres of lake outside the no wake zone for high speed boating/tubing or waterskiing.
In winter, there is only the the lake, trees and nature as far as the eye can see, and the lake is transformed to a winter wonderland of outstanding beauty, ideal for cross country skiing, ice skating or ice fishing.
Megunticook lake is one of the finest lakes in the region with a maximum depth in places of up to 70 feet which keeps the water cool and fresh all summer long, and there is no problem with grass or weeds which plague many of the nearby smaller water bodies.
Ideally situated in the Mid-Coast region, neighboring towns such as Belfast, Rockport and Rockland also offer a thriving food, art, and shopping scene which, coupled with the area’s vast array of sporting and outdoor adventure opportunities, including fresh and salt water boating and swimming, fishing, island hopping, mountain hiking and biking, walking and so on make the region a superb vacation destination.
Maison did Lac is ideally situated in the midst of all that the area offers, and if you can bear to leave the lake at all you will have much choice of how to spend your time.
Included in your rental are all linens and towels, including swim towels. All bedding is professionally laundered and beds fully made up. The house is comfortably stocked with essentials including soaps and detergents, toilet paper, paper towels, spices and various pantry items.
Inside is a flat screen 55" smart Samsung TV, high speed internet, Edifier blue tooth speakers, record player, many books, board games, and a tuned piano for entertainment. All bedrooms now have window air conditioning installed.
We look forward to hosting you Summer 2026!

Absolutely lovely!! The house is beautiful, authentic, immaculately clean and stocked with everything you might need. The location on the lake is quiet, calm and protected. Perfect for all-ages swimming and paddling. We can’t wait to stay again!
the lake is amazing and access easy. We swam and paddled all day.
house is great location to get to Camden/Lincolnville for great food and shopping and hiking.
Need to be willing to have people stay in rooms together bc the bedrooms have multiple beds.
They have everything you need in the kitchen!

Wonderful lakefront home!
Beautiful well maintained home located in mid coast Maine. Easy day trips to Bar Harbor or Portland. Boating and fishing just steps from your back porch. The house is large enough to accommodate a family of eight. A visit to Mount Battie is a must see to enjoy spectacular views of the Camden area. Would definitely recommend this property to family and friends!
Jennifer is awesome! Super attentive and quick to respond. Beautiful lake, great fishing, close to beautiful Camden town, ocean, grocery, well supplied kitchen
House very close to road, set up of rooms funky but pictures online are honest
We had a lovely time and great weather, no AC so if it rained all week might be a bit balmy with linen and sofa, etc

Ali thank you so much for the kind words. We appreciate your understanding about the wrong sized sheets accidentally included in one of the linen bundles, and are grateful for your husband repairing the seat in the canoe. We hope you can stay again sometime and let me know which furniture is redundant. A lot remains from my mother in law still. Thanks again.

Comfortable & Spacious Cabin on Serene Lake
My husband & I could not have been more pleased with our stay at Jim & Jennifer's cabin. Though it was more space than the two of us needed, it still felt cozy and homey. The cabin is equipped with anything you could possibly need. We loved the extensive album collection and enjoyed leisurely mornings singing along with the Beatles. The view from the back porch is nothing short of spectacular, and we enjoyed canoeing around the peaceful lake.
This was our first trip to Maine and we found Camden to be a perfect location. Quaint, warm, friendly and plenty to do within a reasonable driving distance.
Don't miss out on a morning sail trip on the Cutter Owl, one of our trip highlights. You can book it in Camden Harbor.
The waterfront cabin is perfect for a family getaway. Close to town, the harbor, outstanding local restaurants and beautiful sites. It served as a great home base but also a serene location for kayaking, fishing, swimming and reading. Beautiful views of the lake from all rooms. The kitchen and large tables were perfect for family dinners, puzzles and game nights. The hosts were available and ensured we had a great stay!
We had a wonderful time — it is a beautiful immaculate house, great quiet location on the lake outside of town , perfect for families looking to spend a great holiday together. The back deck has a beautiful view and the sunsets were spectacular
The house, property, dock, and lake are all stunning and located in the perfect spot. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. The lake is beautiful, loads of hikes close by, minutes from main street Camden, and you feel like you’re away from it all.
Lovely, updated home on lake megunticook. Great for our family of five. Great deck overlooking lake with two docks that are excellent for swimming or canoeing.
Hosts are very accessible a d responsive and accommodating.
Lovely Maine Cottage situated on beautiful Lake Megunticook. House is well kept and offers lake views from all bedrooms as well as the common area. Deck and the two floating docks provide perfect access to the lake. Wonderful vacation spot.
We had a fabulous time enjoying this beautiful property!!! Nestled on the edge of the lake, this home included everything you need to have a wonderful vacation - canoe and kayak for enjoying the lake & hammock for afternoon nap. The fire place was also lovely on the cool evenings. The home has been updated, but keeps the original character of the home. Our family very much enjoyed this home and will be returning!!!
My wife and I decided in the early evening on a Friday to try and book a last minute trip to Maine for the Labor Day holiday. Our hosts were wonderfully accommodating and very responsive - without which our whim of a trip never would have happened. On top of that, the house was perfect. Wonderfully finished, a beautiful setting , great views, easy access to town... Not much more to be asked for. Highly recommended.
Our family had a great week on the lake! We enjoyed using the canoe and kayaks and loved how close we were to town. It was a great week of family time!
The house is lovely and the location fantastic. The view of the lake is amazing and we enjoyed the canoe and kayaks provided by the owner. The picturesque town of Camden is less than three miles away. Lots of wonderful food, things to do and gorgeous scenery nearby.
Wonderful location on a tranquil lake within minutes of Camden. Lovely home.

We are sorry you had problems with the internet which was beyond our control, we did however arrive at Spectrum’s storefront the moment they opened and had new equipment installed and running an hour later. We hope you enjoyed the Maine specialities which we offered as compensation for the inconvenience. We hope you can make it back another season, we enjoyed having you as guests. Jennifer & Jim
