About this property

Lovely Adirondack Lake House

Located in West Caroga Lake just an hour west of Saratoga Springs and Albany, one hour east of Utica, three hours from Boston, and three and a half hours from New York City, this 1940's camp has two private bedrooms, and three semiprivate bedrooms. The house is not waterfront, but is just a short walk to our shared private sandy beach. Fully furnished with all the comforts of home, the property has an outdoor fire pit to relax by at night, a grill, plenty of outdoor seating and dining. West Caroga Lake is a wonderful lakeside neighborhood filled with quaint homes, and charming streets. There are three restaurants walking distance from the house and several others just a short drive away. Caroga Lake is excellent for swimming, boating, and fishing. A few miles away is the Nick Stoner Municipal Golf Course, and many hiking trails. This idyllic Adirondack home is a relaxing and refreshing getaway.
The house sleeps eleven people. It has two bedrooms on the 2nd floor and the living room there is a futon couch that will sleep two, the front porch has a twin bed for one, and the den will sleep one on the twin bed/couch and two can sleep on the futon couch - full size. The kitchen is large with many cookbooks. There is a large movie library with two small tvs - one upstairs and one downstairs, a music library, and many books for adults and children. There is vast selection of board games for all ages, puzzles, children's toys, and art supplies.
We have a canoe, four adult kayaks kayaks that are available for rental and noodles for you to use while floating on the lake. There are fishing poles and plenty of worms in the back yard for the kids to dig up or you could buy them at a store a walk away.
Please note that linens and towels are not included with the rental. They are available and can be rented for an additional fee. Please bring sheets, pillowcases and bath towels.
The house has a hip rustic vibe and welcomes everyone equally. Come, relax at this seasonal pleasure palace.
Starting in June 2017, Fulton County has a new 4% Bed Tax that will need to be added to the initial quote.

About the host

Host profile image
I am an artist and photographer living in New York City. As a child, I spent my summers in the Adirondacks, and the winters in Florida. I enjoy traveling, entertaining, spending time with family and friends, and creating environments to relax and enjoy. I look forward to another summer spent at the beach at West Caroga Lake and of course, sharing the house with others.

Why they chose this property

I knew immediately that Caroga Lake was the place for me. With the defunct amusement park, Shermans- now the Caroga Arts Festival property boasting more that 30 concerts in the summer, the Nick Stoner Golf Course, the cafes, the hiking trails, the ski resort, Royal Mountain, and the crystal clear Adirondack lake, this cozy town in the foot hills of the Southern Adirondacks has everything a life of leisure demands. The town motto "everything burns," refers to the fire pits that appoint each home and the smell of burning wood each and every summer night. The house is large with an open floor plan on the first floor that includes the living room, kitchen, and bar area. The second floor has two bedrooms and a semi private tv/family room. The decorations are eclectic and welcoming.
