Stunning 1 Bedroom Fishermans Cottage Located In The Beautiful Village Of Pennan

Pennan is a gorgeous little seaside village made famous from the eighties film - Local Hero where a business man falls for the charm and the pace of life the village has to offer. This is still true today, you will feel yourself relax as you wind down the steep road towards the village with breath-taking views of the sea in front of you. The house has been restored with deep consideration to its original features and new additions including artisan wood work and luxury bathroom. The village has a fantastic restaurant and pub and there are brilliant walks nearby offering a restorative getaway for guests. A starter set of logs and kindling is provided, guests to provide their own logs and kindling thereafter.

Inside the house:

* On the ground floor there is an open plan kitchen and sitting room with a traditional wood burning stove. There are hand crafted touches throughout including the whiskey barrel window seat and hand made dining table. There is a well equipped kitchen thoughtfully designed to fit around the 19th century home.

*Upstairs on the first floor is the bedroom with a king-size bed, beautiful window seat and a wood burning stove. The en suite bathroom includes a shower and deep soaking tub.

*On the top floor there is a relaxing sitting room with bespoke furniture, a telescope and stunning sea views, the perfect place to relax with a book while listening to the waves...

The property is fantastic retreat offering guests a wonderful holiday with the idyllic setting and beautiful touches throughout. Bed linen, towels, picnic set, cleaning products and kitchen essentials are provided.

Take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights
Please turn off the electric heaters and turn off the hot water switches in the hall cupboard.
Please lock the door and put the key under a stone or plant pot beside the front door!
Please remove any refuse, recycling and ash from the stove.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
I provide a starter set of logs and kindling for the stove. There is coal in the coal bunker outside the wee house beside the road.
Please bring additional logs and kindling if you wish to use the stoves.
Please do not take logs or coal from my neighbours property next door, this does not belong to me or the wee house.

This was the most beautiful spot. The beach and views are incredible. The house was charming, comfortable, clean, well stocked. The fireplace was perfect as were the fun boardgames and movies. Absolutely loved everything here.

Wee Cottage

A beautiful wee cottage, exactly like the photos but of course so much more because of its location. The kitchen is well organised, the bathroom spotless and the host is lovely. A relaxing place to stay. I loved the attic room with the little window giving a view to the sea and space to do some yoga.

Not impressed with standard of cleanliness overall, oven not great microwave needs updating, only 1 tea towel, window blinds didn't work properly,felt everything needed deep clean and fresh decoration.. Glass panelled front door needs curtain,/blind for privacy furniture in general tired e.g. sofa, cushions and window seating grubby and stained and outdoor area and garden furniture very poorly maintained .

This is one of the most beautiful and charming places I've ever stayed! Pennan is beyond compare in its grace, allowing you to reconnect with the world, taking a break from it.The cottage is superb, perfect in every corner. I can't believe how you can become attached to a place in just one night, but that's what we felt: a home away from home.It has everything you need, cared for by someone who cares, where everything is thoughtful and considered. Such a stunning unique place. The ‘wee house’ was just what we hoped it would be -cosy, warm, safe and everything you need. Set in such a picturesque spot and close to other stunning bays as well. The view out several windows is better than you could dream of!

Super Stay

Fabulous stay at the Wee Hoose, which provided everything we wished for. Pennan is by far the most attractive venue on the North Aberdeenshire coast, and the fisherman's cottage was beautiful and homely. A great week's break. Not to be missed.

Long weekend in Pennan

A lovely cottage in the middle of Pennan. Well equipped and the woodturning stove was ideal. Lots to see and do in the area, so it's a perfect base and quiet at night so you can listen to the sound of the waves.

Why they chose this property

I have been visiting Pennan for a number of years as my parents own a holiday home here too. I bought The Wee House in 2014 and it has been lovingly restored into a beautiful seaside home - just the right size for two people! My boyfriend travels extensively for his job so its wonderful to have a getaway just an hour away when he is in Scotland.
