Las Casitas is a beautifully renovated and spacious cortijo with very large terrace, set in a tranquil village nestled in the hills near Almeria. This property is set in private grounds and boasts many traditional features. Original & restored features include traditional shuttered windows, crisp white walls, local tiles, beamed & caned ceilings, made with esparto grass & bamboo from the nearby riverbed. This spacious Andalacian hideaway has five bedrooms (three double, two twin rooms), accommodating ten people comfortably with 4 showers and fans in every room for those hot summer nights. Although the house has an enchanting traditional feel, it also has lots of modern conveniences to make your stay easy and relaxing.

Outside Las Casitas offers a large terrace with private heated pool, set in grounds with olive trees, lemon tree, almond tree and bursting with colourful flowers much of the year. The terrace overlooks breath-taking views of wild, Andalucian countryside which you can gaze upon whilst enjoying the peace and tranquility. There is a great climate in this part of Spain for most of the year. With the heated pool you can make the most of the sunny weather from April right through to October, even cooking & dining al fresco with the built in barbecue & portable paella ring.

Within easy reach you will find great beaches & markets, delicious food and wine, stunning traditional crafts, rugged scenery, fascinating wildlife, water sports as well as amazing excursions. Andalucia is a beautiful part of Spain with fabulous scenery & rich culture. Local towns & pueblos like Nijar (above), Mojacar Pueblo, Bedar & Sorbas offer a real taste of Andalucian life and history.

The nearby rugged coastline presents large sandy beaches and more secluded coves. The more popular beaches close by are at Mojacar, Vera & Garrucha (approx 25-40 minutes drive). The area has an enormous selection of restaurants, tapas bars and cafe's. Whether you fancy rich sweet tarts, overlooking the sea at Dolce Vita at Mojacar Playa, tapas in Bedar or you are feeling more adventurous & want to drive along the river bed to El Paniajo restaurant, there is cuisine to suit every taste.
