Great location with easy access to local walks, amenities and exploring further afield along the south west coast.Off street parking.Pet Friendly.Private Garden courtyard a perfect spot for a coffee or a relaxing wine.Warm and welcoming with all the comforts of home.Would definitely book again.
Very comfortable cottage in excellent location. Ideally placed for all kinds of coastal and Forest excursions, as well as the ferry to the Isle of Wight. Short walking distance to centre of Lymington and access to coastal walks from the cottage. A warm welcome too from a friendly host.
David was extremely welcoming; the wine, flowers and milk were a lovely touch. Salterns Cottage was clean, cosy and very well equipped with everything we needed for our stay plus more. It was a great location; within walking distance for shops and eating places. We will most definitely be staying again within the very near future. Thank you David for a superb stay.
Very close to everything you need for a stay in Lymington. Town is a short 10 minute walk away and the marina is just down the road. Check in was extremely easy and David is a really lovely person. Lovely touch with the white roses and milk on arrival. Thank you David for a lovely stay
Good sized property for family of four with all amenities. Could walk to Lymington high street in 10/15 mins and we spent a lot of time crabbing on the quay! Close to Brockenhurst where we hired bikes as well as close to the ferry for Hurst Castle.
Very central to town and marina. Lovely beaches only 10 min drive. Dog friendly pubs and cafés. David, host, very friendly and on hand if you need anything. Would go back.

Many thanks for your excellent review Nicola, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and I enjoyed having you holidaying in the cottage. David
The cottage was just as described and exactly what we wanted. The process to book was very quick and easy. We had no problem finding the place. It’s walking distance to the High Street, quay and pubs. It’s very quiet and comfortable. David the host is welcoming and helpful.
Cottage could do with a bit of TLC, but it is in a great location. Beds comfy, sofa uncomfy! David, the host was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend as a good base for exploring the area. Would love to return at some point.
As described - very quiet, set back from road (that was quiet anyway), secure back garden (pets), great communication. The perfect base for the area with plenty of walks, pubs and other things to do. Recommend - The Chequers
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Salterns Cottage. David was more than happy to drop in to help with the wifi on our arrival, but we didn't need any further help from him, although he was always very friendly when we saw him. He also dropped by to say goodbye when we were due to leave, which was appreciated.
The cottage was perfect, quiet, comfortable and the location was great. David has told me of his intention to refit the bathroom & decorate, so it will even improve, making it highly likely that we'll look to return in the future. I have no reservation in recommending The Cottage to anyone else, it would be a pleasure!

Lymington Salters Cottage
Property was tired and not as shown. Not clean. We had light bulbs that didn’t work, chipped crockery, a small tv with a router that kept the screen image blinking throughout programmes and then to cap it all a blocked sink in the downstairs toilet. We left before the end of our stay. Would never go back.

I am totally amazed by the review. The guests told me this was their ideal cottage and we’re having the time of their lives. A light bulb in the landing had broken which I wasn’t aware of but replaced immediately. The cottage is very clean , I have a very perfectionist cleaner. This review goes totally against what was said in all the reviews for over a year.
A lovely hidden gem of a property 10 mins walk into Lymington and 5 mins walk from the harbour. Our Range Rover made it up the little driveway with no prob! David was a super host, kindly providing wine and milk and even provided us with an extra crabbing net so I could beat my boys! Our dog Luna loved the stay too.
Bed could be a touch bigger , King size would hv been awesome and good fit in the room, lots of nice pubs around which David kindly wrote us a list. The chequers was our fave!
We walked to Hurst Castle along coastal path from house. Took all day but what a walk there and back! A must do.
Isle of Wight ferry 5 min drive from house ..so worth the ferry over for the day,
Mudeford (our go to fave beach ) is only 18 mins in car and dog friendly all year plus Milton beach also super stop too.
Thanks David for super week..weather stayed great for us which was a massive bonus 👍

Many thanks Fiona for your full and constructive review of Salterns Cottage. The Kingsize bed is a good idea and I’ll look into that. Your information on walks etc will be of interest to others. It was a pleasure having you stay. All the best David
A lovely little cottage ina superb location - easy walk to quay and high street. Very private and shaded courtyard garden. It had everything we needed, well equipped kitchen. Comfy sitting room. Perfect for a getaway to enjoy lovely Lymington.
