Nice location
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was nice to have more space than a hotel room. We appreciated the old character and updates. The location was quiet and convenient. Melissa was available and responded promptly. The pillows need to be replaced. Bring your own soap. We will return!

Hi Kelli,
Just after your stay, we stayed in the Studio ourselves. We agreed with you about the pillows, and I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond in Durango and purchased their best down pillows for the queen bed and two new pillows for the sofa bed. I'm not sure what happened with the soap. Sorry about the inconvenience you experienced. Soap should be provided beside the sink. We also provide little complementary bottles of shower products such as shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel, but regular hand soap should be available too. We will make sure it is in the future. Again, thank you for staying with us.

Historic, great location
This is the one BR studio unit. Great location at heart of Silverton, across the street from Handlebars restaurant. Super comfy bed. Lots of towels, linens. Amazon TV (no live TV, but you're not there to watch TV, right?). Good wifi. Full size kitchen. No AC - box fan provided. Tiny bathroom, but space well managed. No washer/dryer. Generous bath and kitchen starter kit. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Not glamorous or swanky, but perfect for comfort and basics.

Thank you for your review. We agree that the location of our studio is great. Everything is within walking distance: restaurants, shops, historic buildings, library, museum, and hiking trails. Thank you for your comment on the comfy bed. We provide high quality bed linens and bath towels. The queen pillow-top bed is equipped with a blanket as well as a duvet covered down comforter. While we do not carry local television channels, we pay for two subscriptions for our renters: Amazon T.V. and Netflix. In addition, the unit has a DVD player. Silverton’s wonderful library allows Silverton’s visitors to check out movies from their fairly extensive collection. We recently updated to the fastest Wi-Fi available in Silverton at this time for residential units. Future renters need to know that air conditioning is not common in Silverton in either private homes or hotels. The average daily summer temperature of Silverton rarely exceeds the mid 70s. Evening summer temperatures average in the high 30s. In lieu of a box fan, the studio is equipped with two ceiling fans, one in the main living/sleeping area, and the other in the kitchen. We recently installed wall-mounted controls for both the fans. Again, thank you for taking the time to review our studio.

Neat old building in a cool old town
I get that Silverton is at over 9k elevation so none of the buildings have air conditioning, but it would have been a lot more pleasant if there was an air conditioner. It was too warm when we were there (low 80’s) in late June, and the unit faces the afternoon and evening sun. If you leave the windows open, (actually even when the windows are closed they don’t seal up) you can hear everything going on down on the street - the Handlebars Staff smoking weed below the windows on their breaks at night and the UTV’s and loud trucks start rolling by before 6 am each morning we were there.
If you are not a light sleeper, and it isn’t really warm, the location is great, and the historic 1895 building is pretty cool.

Dear Sean W. and Family,
So sorry you were disappointed and had a poor experience. We take our reviews very seriously. In response, I will address each of your concerns: #1: We do not have air conditioning and we do not list it as an amenity as the average temperature usually doesn't warrant a/c. But you hit some high temperatures for the mountains. Sorry you were uncomfortably warm. #2: As for your concern over local restaurant staff smoking under the windows, I have written a letter to the owner of the restaurant in question to request that he inform his staff that his employee's behavior contributed to a poor review for us. Hopefully he will alert his workers to be respectful of all businesses in the area. #3: To address the noise issue, I have updated my description of the Studio so that future guests realize they are renting a unit in the center of all the action in Silverton. The Studio is located on one of the busiest corners in Silverton. In closing, I appreciate your comment that our Studio is in a "Neat old building in a cool old town." I agree. I hope your experience won't turn you off to a future visit to our unique community.
Me and my wife stopped here for our honeymoon. It was a comfortable stay in a great location right on the main drag. The check-in time was not accurate on the listing but overall it was a great stay.
The place was charming, relaxing and quiet. We had one minor issue with the outside door, but the owner answered my call immediately and it was resolved with no problem. Bed was comfy. Location was ideal to walk from to anywhere. Great stay and we will be back!
We had a lovely time enjoying Silverton for two days at this apartment. It’s a short walk to literally anything in town. The apartment was clean, cozy, and spacious. Thankyou for the wonderful stay!
This was the second time that my husband and I stayed here and it was wonderful! We LOVE Silverton and this loft is right on the main road. Parking is easy and also love that it's dog friendly!
Melissa was an excellent and very responsive property manager. Thanks for a great stay! Back balcony was an awesome treat and location was wonderful! Thank you!!
Me and 2 friends came to ride dirt bikes on the Alpine Loop trails, which start 3 blocks away from the apartment. We were able to secure and store our bikes in a covered area under the deck. It's a convenient location if you're there to off-road all day and come back to downtown Silverton for some good food and drinks. The apartment is in an historic building and has an old-school charm, perfect if you value history over high-brow luxuries. Melissa the property manager was super helpful and responsive when we needed some help. I highly recommend this as a perfect home base for off-road adventures in the San Juans.
A great space. make sure stairs aren't a problem for you, lugging up luggage can get tedious.
Comfortable, well appointed space. Location is good, close to morning coffee and easy trail access. May want to bring an extra towel as there are only two of each size. Neat little loft in a great little town.
Property is very charming and in a great location in town. Views of the mountains are fantastic. Upon arrival the unit was well cleaned and well stocked for a long weekend stay. We would definitely stay here again.
A perfect location and place for my husband and me. We came to Silverton to ride the trails and everything felt catered to us. The studio was spacious for us to spread out after a long day. I loved the historical details the owners left while decorating. We could walk to get anything we needed in town, yet we felt we had our privacy being on the second floor above it all. LOVED our stay!
This is an amazing apartment. It is right in the middle of town so you can walk anywhere. It was so cozy and instantly felt like home. It was spotless and smells so clean and fresh. I can't even say enough about the views. You go to bed and wake up looking at the amazing mountains. There was a little confusion about which door to use to get into the building however we contacted the owner and she was incredibly helpful. We would 100% recommend this apartment and would stay again.

My husband and I purchased this property in our 20s and operated an old fashioned soda fountain and drug store in the retail space while living upstairs in the front Greene St. Loft apartment. We are retired and rent out both the "Greene St. Loft," this apartment, "The13th Street Studio" and our new "The Mezzanine Loft" as vacation rentals, plus we stay in our apartments multiple times throughout the year. We manage to squeeze in time in all three apartments during the year.
