Lakefront Getaway; Weekly Discounts Available

We have moved, because of our work schedules, to a 7 night Sunday-Sunday minimum stay during peak season (mid-June to mid-September).

Anderson Island is one of the best kept secrets in the Pacific Northwest, and especially unique because of its quiet atmosphere and tranquility even while enjoying remarkable proximity to Seattle, Tacoma, and even Portland. Typically one would have to travel a great distance to experience the serenity and seclusion of Island life, yet it is provided by a short 20 minute ferry ride from Steilacoom, which is just southwest of Tacoma.

The Lakefront Getaway is a 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath home with an additional open upstairs loft with a futon, comfortably sleeping 8 people. The main floor features an open-concept living room with fireplace, kitchen, and dining area...as well as two bedrooms and a full bath. Sliding glass doors in the living room and the master bedroom lead to the full-width deck. The lower level has a bedroom, large multi-purpose room with wood stove, full bath, and a bonus room. French doors lead to a patio followed by the walkway to the lake.
The property has 200 feet of frontage on Lake Josephine, the quiet lake where many types of watercraft including row boats, paddle boats, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, sailboats, etc. are allowed...except gasoline powered. During the day we like playing in the lake and/or exploring the Island, then returning to build a campfire in the open fire pit, enjoying peaceful evenings roasting hot dogs and marshmallows sharing stories of the day's events, the wildlife observed, and planning tomorrow's activities.

Spectacular Anderson Island Getaway!

Our annual family escape to Anderson Island is always best when we get to stay at Sean & Sally's beautiful Lakefront Getaway! This year was no exception! We love it not only for the spectacular lake views and the immaculate, well-equiped home that it is, but also for the hosts' amazing hospitality and attention to detail, and for their kind communication from start to finish. Island Stay

We all very much enjoyed our stay. The home is as advertised and was very well laid out for our use. We used the kayaks and our one fisherman caught a lot of fish! (Caught and released) We also appreciated the close proximity to the pickleball courts! We will be booking again. Thank you!

This is one of my favorite places. All the toys for all age groups. Beautiful home with everything you can think of. It is where my now 10 year old learned to kayak. He talks about Anderson Island all year long and he has only ever been to this house. Not our first visit and not our last!

Wonderful lakefront property

Sean and Sally have truly created an amazing vacation experience. This was my first VRBO experience, and I hope future VRBO experiences are this amazing. Every detail about this home is perfect. There is anything and everything you could possibly want. I spoke with Sean prior to our arrival, he was quite nice and very easy to talk to. I texted Sean during our stay with a question, he was quick to respond and very helpful. Although selfishly I would love to give a poor review so that the property would be available for my family to come back anytime we want, I can only give the highest recommendation to stay at this amazing house. Thank you Sean and Sally for making spring break with our children one that will forever be a special memory.

Amazing View!

The location and view can’t be beat!! We loved waking up to the lake view each morning! There was something for everyone to do in this lakefront home. The kayaks and pedal boats were so fun to have, there was no reason to leave! There were even toys for the younger kids in our group. Plenty of bedrooms and beds for our group of 8. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed to make all of our meals at home. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had and they were so thoughtful to leave a welcome basket of goodies for us! We will be back!!

Family Lake Vacation on Anderson Island

We've been vacationing on Anderson Island in the summer for 20 years and have stayed in many different vacation homes. The O'Leary house was our favorite by far. We loved all the water toys and having views of the lake activities from the deck, so we could keep an eye on the kids. We also loved sitting around the fire pit in the evening. The hosts greeted us with a S'mores basket. There were plenty of blankets and sleeping/napping opportunities, from beds, couches, hammock and futons. Everything we needed in the kitchen was on hand. The hosts were very responsive to pre-check-in questions. We'll definitely be back.

Small Island but fun!!!

This was a great stay! We had an amazing time on the water. It was nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend going to the general store and if you come on the weekend (we didnt) you could go to the gift shop and they have a little museum. All and all a great and memorable experience on anderson island.

Best VRBO I've experienced

This home on Anderson Island is superb. Very clean and had everything we needed and things we didn't know we needed! The lake front property is beautifully maintained. We spent the whole weekend at the property - there was no need to go anywhere else on the island for water sports - the house has great swimming/floating off the dock and kayaks, paddle boats, and paddle boards available for use! Our group of 8 fit easily with plenty of room to spread out. There were toys available for the kids, plenty of kitchen supplies, and a nice welcome basket, which was a personalized touch. The house did get a little warm without AC (it was 95 degrees our weekend) but it cooled down nicely with the provided fans and we slept comfortably at night. Would 100% recommend and we will be back.

Majestic lake front property

Had the most perfect summer getaway at this house on the lake. I had previously been to Anderson Island with friends and wanted to show my husband and this place did not disappoint. We had tons of space to spread out but good gathering places to eat and hang out. Property is beautiful and the grassy slopes to the lake are to die for! Already planning to go back next summer!

The O’Learys Vacation House

This vacation home is beautiful! Check-in was great and they had balloons for my daughters birthday. We had some connection issues as well as well as a smell issue with the sink, but the O’Learys were quick tell us a solution and/or contact the internet company.

Breathtaking!! Perfect Home!

Our family enjoyed every moment of our one week stay at the O’Leary’s home in Anderson Island! As soon as we pulled into the driveway after a long flight from Florida we were blown away by the natural beauty all around; Pinch me!! Was my first thought. Waking up to the sunrise as I worked from this home was magical; coffee on the back deck, the smell of pine and view of Lake Josephine- unbelievable! We had everything we needed! Beds were extremely comfortable and the house was super clean! The O’ Leary’s provide everything needed to explore and enjoy the lake; paddle boards, kayaks, peddle boats etc… They provide wood for the fire pit and grill access- simply perfect! I am looking forward to our next trip and will not think twice about where to stay!

Great family vacation spot

We stayed at the property over a three day weekend and were all enchanted by both the house and the island. We loved kayaking and paddle boating around the lake and hiking throughout the island. Our kids were thrilled by the ferry ride, spotting tons of jellyfish and even a porpoise from the top deck. The house was clean, cozy, and had plenty of space for all seven of us.
