Anderson Island Luxury Beach Home. Kayak, HotTub, Paddle Board, Beachfront, View
Enjoy island life at its finest! You'll see more deer, eagles and seals than people. You won't be in close contact with anyone the entire time you're here. You'll be secluded on the eastern shore of Oro Bay on Anderson Island, about 90 minutes from Seattle. Enjoy the view and all the beauty the Puget Sound has to offer. Kayak, paddle board, beach comb, golf and experience some of the most amazing sunsets you'll ever see.
This secluded, spacious and sunny 2,500 square foot beach home, just steps from the beach, has everything you need to create memories to last a lifetime. Enjoy your time with friends and family and still have plenty of privacy when you want it.
There are two upstairs master bedroom suites. The South Suite has a king bed, vaulted ceilings, ensuite with a jetted tub. The North Suite has a queen bed and a single daybed, and ensuite. Both bedroom suites have flat screen TVs and private decks with spectacular ocean and island views. On the main level is a third bedroom with a queen sized bed. There is another full bath shower with washer and dryer also on the main level.
There's a cozy living room with a leather (sleeper) sofa and a very cozy sun room , both great for relaxing and enjoying the sunset or watching the 48" flat screen TV.
Our Anderson Island home has great Wi-Fi and Direct TV.
The fully equipped kitchen, kitchen bar and dining area open to the huge entertainment deck. On the deck you'll find a hot tub, propane grill, propane fire table and a complete set of patio furniture. Just a few steps to the beach where you'll have 3 kayaks and 2 stand up paddle boards at your service at no additional charge. The calm waters of Oro Bay make for some of the smoothest paddling you'll find anywhere. A short paddle across the bay brings you to Jacobs Point Park Marine Reserve with 82 acres of natural habitat and over a mile of pristine, undisturbed beach. This is the largest natural reserve in the entire Puget Sound. Expect to see our resident seals, heron, deer and eagles. More experienced paddlers can circle the island or head for nearby Ketron Island. If you're lucky you'll see the Orca and Humpback whales that frequently visit southern Puget Sound. If you'd like to bring your own boat we have a buoy right in front of the house.
Whatever you like to do, Anderson Island is a great place to do it. Many of our guests enjoy the natural beauty of the Puget Sound from the air-conditioned comfort of our home. If you feel more adventurous, there's lots to do on island. Golf at the Riviera Golf course and enjoy meals or drinks at the Riviera clubhouse restaurant overlooking Lake Josephine. Hike or bike the many parks and trials including Andy's Marine Park. Explore the many beaches of the island shores, bays and coves. Visit our local historical museum. Swim and fish in one of our 3 fresh water lakes including our famous "Old Swimming Hole" or take in a yoga class at our local community club studio. If you'd like to venture to the mainland, you'll find some great shops, restaurants, and spas in historical town of Steilacoom, all within walking distance of the mainland ferry dock. The Chambers Bay Golf Course, site of the 2015 U.S. Open, is just a few minutes drive from the Steilacoom ferry dock.
Please note that there is a maximum occupancy in our home of 6 total guests (strict rule). Our base rate is calculated for 4 guests. For parties of 5 or more, we charge an additional $20/per guest/per night (including kids) even if they are not staying the entire visit.
Purchase groceries for your stay on the mainland in advance of catching the ferry to the island. After 30+ years the island convenience store, coffee shop and gas station are permanently closed until a new owner takes over.

We had an absolutely lovely experience here. The hosts are super responsive and the house was extremely comfortable, clean and had all the amenities promised.
Our stay was perfect! The house was clean and spacious. The views from the house and hot tub were wonderful. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Donn and Betty were great communicating with us. Would highly recommend!!
Beautiful home with absolutely gorgeous views! It was the perfect relaxing island getaway. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, and everything was clean and well appointed. We would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful location, very kind and helpful host, clean home and amenities, and enjoyed having the option to use kayaks and hot tub. Great spot to see stars also! Accessibility note : Very Steep driveway and the stairs down to the beach are not level, starting to erode and not fully safe to walk down and the handrail doesnt feel very sturdy.

Jamie. So glad you had a wonderful stay with your girlfriends. Thanks for your feedback about our stairs and driveway. We apologize for any issues caused by our beach stairs and will address your concerns. We do mention in our house description that our driveway is steep and encourage guests to drive down to the house to unload and for those having difficulty navigating it.
The hosts were great and it was so peaceful. I had the best night sleep I've had in a very long time. Love the jacuzzi. Must be organized and have everything you need there because there's no going to the store or picking up something otherwise. We had a good time.
The views are amazing and are definitely the crown jewel of this rental! Not many options for getting out on foot or going on pleasant walks from the house itself, but we were here for a work retreat so it was just nice to have the views from the living room as we were working and from the hot tub.

Thanks for the feedback Lindsey. We do state in our description that we are on a private beach and that you can walk on our beach from our house on the north side of our beach. Very sorry you missed that detail but enjoyed your time regardless.
Best wishes forward.
Our family had an amazing time at Donn and Betty’s beautiful home. We had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Betty’s communication and instruction a were above and beyond. Thank you for the wonderful memories!
Our group of six moms loved our weekend getaway in this spacious and comfortable beach home! Communication with our host was seamless. We hope to return so we can take full advantage of the hot tub and kayaks!
We had an incredible 3 night stay at this serene, quiet, amd peaceful home. Enjoyed quiet mornings overlooking the water and peaceful nights by the fire. The island has a great restaurant, cafe, and trails to explore on top of the kayaking and paddle boarding you can do right from the home!
Loved this home. I could sit and stare at the view all day. Nice big kitchen and big bedrooms and bathrooms with plenty of space for the whole family. Would definitely stay again.

The place was beautiful and well laid out. Kitchen was well equipped. Lovely sunroom extension from living room. Spent a lot of time there watching the water and sipping coffee. Upstairs rooms each have bathroom and views of water. Host very attentive and quick to respond to texts. It is down a steep dirt road and driveway. Decks looked well equipped but it rained a good deal of our stay.
We had a great stay! Everything was clean and communication was great between the owner and island hostess. We would definitely recommend this as a vacation spot!

Beautiful home with gorgeous views of the sound and pink sunsets. We loved the easy beach access and using the paddle boards to play in the water. The house was very clean, the beds super comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make pizzas! Host Betty was very communicative and lovely to chat with. Highly recommend this house if you're looking for a relaxing weekend
I really enjoyed the beautiful home with wonderful views and our own access to the beach. We wish we had more time there, we lost power our first night which is the only thing that made us lose time & comfort. However, that’s not something that was in anyone’s control.

Thanks, Ambreen. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry that power was lost for awhile during your short stay. But thanks for understanding that our electric power is operated by a private power company, the island is full of trees and other forest plants that periodically fall on power lines and disrupt service which is not in our control.
We had a wonderful 3 days at this property! We saw eagles flying from the balcony and all the rooms were well appointed. It was fun to do the small hikes on the island and we loved that paddle boards were available to use.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. My wife is a professional communicator who loves the great outdoors. I'm a musician and can bore you to tears rambling on about my favorite music. After much world travel, we think the Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Why they chose this property
After living in the Pacific Northwest most of our lives we recently discovered the South Puget Sound islands. We fell in love with the hidden islands and their secret inlets. Anderson Island quickly became one of our favorites. It has the perfect combination of secluded natural beauty and just enough modern conveniences to make the perfect place to relax and enjoy all the Northwest has to offer. Conveniently located and just about 90 minutes from Seattle. We love our Anderson Island home!
What makes this property unique
The house is located on the beach right on the shore of East Oro Bay with the calmest waters on Anderson island, ideal for swimming, paddling and boating. Beautiful water and sunset views from the deck, bedrooms, lounge and hot tub. Great year round for a romantic getaway or family vacation.
