~33 historic narrow steep stairs with railing up toward the home from parking area; not conducive for those with back, knee, or mobility issues. Two original steep and narrow carpeted stairways inside.

~Children must be supervised at all times and are allowed on property at Guest’s own risk. Exterior is steep with open terraces.

~Calendar is updated in real-time. Enter desired dates, correct guest count, and click "Book Now".

*Base rate is set for 2 guests; each additional guest is $25/per night. Any on-site day-use guest who is not included in overnight reservation is $25/per person/per day.

Why they chose this property

As a little girl growing up in western Kansas, my mother and I would take several trips a year out to Colorado, riding the Cog Railway every August. As the Cogway traveled toward the summit of Pikes Peak, I remember many times gazing over at this particular cottage situated on the mountainside dreaming about what it would be like to own that home. After being in the previous owners family for over 100 years, I magically had the opportunity to purchase the historic hillside home. Spending time at the vacation home has brought back special memories of the time I spent here with my mother (who has sadly passed away). I hope all guests who stay here will feel how special (in so many ways) this property really is.

What makes this property unique

We could not believe this property was finally for sale after being in the same family for over 100 years. We jumped at the chance to own this particular cottage located in such a special "residential owners only" area on the upper edge of historic Manitou Springs. Take in the fresh mountain air while sitting on the balcony overlooking Ruxton Creek, listen for the Cog Railway blow it's horn, watch people ride up to Pikes Peak summit waving as they go by. Walk a few hundred feet and arrive at Barr Trail TH, Manitou Incline, and Cog Railway. The historic and unique cottage is located at the end of a private road providing unparalleled privacy, quiet, and unbeatable views of Garden of the Gods, surrounding mountains, wildlife, and the valley below.
