About the host
Hosted by Deanie Burris

Born and raised right here in Tucson. We have raised our 3 children and now have 6 beautiful grandchildren all within a mile.
We designed the casita in 2003 in a way that would be functional, enjoyable and as private as possible for our guests to enjoy and remodeled it in September of 2025 adding some upgrades including a dishwasher. I own and operate a local banquet hall & wedding chapel and have also been in the real estate business for nearly 30 years. I enjoy both jobs and meeting new people. In my spare time I play volleyball whenever possible and plan on traveling once we retire. We are a hard-working family that loves dogs, athletic sports, drag racing and the outdoors.

Why they chose this property
My grandparents lived in this area since the early 1960's and at that time there were no stores within several miles, but today this property is very convenient to just about anything anyone would need but because it shares a 1.3 acre lot with the main house it feels like it is in a very rural setting. You get the true feeling of living in the desert without being too far from town. Located less than a mile from major shopping, dining, cinemas and more.
Bring your best friend and take long walks along the desert on the paved streets of the neighborhood. Bring your bike and ride along the 101-mile loop along the river (dry river) around Tucson, Hike the Catalina and Tucson mountains trails. Visit the desert Oasis of Sabino Canyon, or Catalina State Park, learn more about desert animals at the Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum, Visit the Pima Air & Space Museum, Take the mural walk downtown to see all the beautiful murals, visit the Tucson Museum of art, attend a show in the first air-conditioned building in Tucson at the Fox Theater. Catch a musical at the Linda Ronstdat music hall, enjoy a Cowboy steak at Pinnacle Peak steakhouse in trail dust town (don't forget to wear a tie you are ready to part with). For some upscale shopping take a short drive to the foothills and visit the La Encantada shopping mall. Visit the DeGrazia gallery in the sun. If you're lucky you can catch a Pow Wow at San Xavier Del Bac Mission and try some authentic Indian Fry Bread, take a short drive southwest and visit one of the casino's or catch a show. Check out the butterfly exhibit at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, take a stroll around the Reid Park Zoo, less than a mile away go for breakfast in the cafe at Tohono Chul Gardens, don't miss a Arizona Wildcat's sporting event.
