This newly remodeled secluded lower level living area with private entrance is situated on a shy acre with native surroundings, herb garden and a seasonal stream visited by wildlife and a variety of birds. A delightful private two acre park with cabana, tennis court, picnic tables and playground is easily accessible across the street.

The sparkling unit with a lodge feel is perfect for the business traveler, vacationing couple looking for a romantic getaway, families and a special place for out of town guests. We are close to recreational opportunities yet not too far from cities close by (Auburn, Covington , Kent , Seattle and Tacoma).

FEATURED AMENITIES:Bedroom #1: King sized upgraded bed; Bedroom #2: queen sized bed. Both beds are are furnished with luxury linens and down alternative comforters. The fully equipped kitchen contains a spacious island with seating. A cozy sitting area with 40” flat-screen HDTV with fast WIFI will keep you entertained. In addition, the unit is equipped with a gas fireplace and a dedicated furnace thermostat for your comfort. The private bathroom contains two sinks and a separate private toilet; shower and bath amenities.

Our home is centrally located and can serve as a home base for seeing the sites of Seattle and the entire Puget Sound Area. Mt Rainier National Park and Crystal Mountain for hiking and skiing are a quick 1.5 hours away. Close by, Historic Black Diamond offers unique dining and a coal museum among many attractions. There are several upscale golf courses within a few miles including Washington National. Popular hiking spots are within easy reach – Soos Creek trail, Cedar River bike trail and Tiger Mountain trails to name a few . Guests can also enjoy a scenic walking loop with views of Mt Rainier around Lake Morton a flat 2.3 mile walk that starts at the driveway. Shopping options are numerous from antique shops in nearby Enumclaw, Outlet Mall in Auburn or downtown Seattle and Pike Place Market all under an hour away. Easy commute to Auburn & Covington Multicare, Boeing (Kent, Auburn), Showare Center, World Vision, Seatac Airport (45 minutes).

Wonderful,very clean, and private, with well stocked kitchen. I especially liked the Kurig coffee maker that was provided! We recommend this house to anyone, and it was less expensive than a Hotel!

My mother lives nearby, so it’s really convenient to have Barb’s rental so close. It’s perfect for me and I really enjoy having my own space with so much family staying at my mom’s house. This property is very quiet, comfortable and clean, it feels like my home away from home!

Beautiful, Comfortable, Peaceful

My husband and I stayed while visiting friends in the area and this home was perfect. Quiet, very comfortable, and spotless. The neighborhood is quiet and safe to walk around and we enjoyed daily walks in the nature-filled area. The hosts were lovely - responsive and accommodating. While we were hesitant to stay at a property where the hosts were on-site, it was not an issue at all. I never met Barb, but George was lovely and welcoming. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

Wonderful Apartment near Seattle

My husband and I had a great stay for a long weekend at this apartment in the Covington area south east of Seattle. So many recreational activities in the area and just about 30-45 minutes from Seattle. The apartment was very clean, nicely decorated, spacious, and the kitchen was thoroughly stocked. George and Barb were very helpful and available if needed. The yard is beautiful. Very quiet and private. We will definitely be back—great place to stay and see our adult children in Seattle.

This is a nice property. We rented it to be near our daughter in Buckley for a few weeks but due to a truck damaging a bridge near Enumclaw, our drives stretched from an expected 15-20 minutes to 30-60 minutes depending on traffic. (That is worth looking at before you rent in the immediate future.) The property is big and private with a responsive host. It is located in a highly residential neighborhood and we drove to local parks and hiking trails instead of walking the narrow roads, which was not an issue. There is no live tv so bring your logins to Prime, Hulu, Disney or whatever you use. You can occasionally hear the host family that lives above you but it wasn’t a big deal. The place was well stocked with all we needed and the entrance was private. Shopping for most of your needs is roughly 10 minutes drive away.

Amazing Value

This unit is spacious and very well maintained. The location is second to none with a wonderful lake just a short walk to the north. Walking or running on the neighborhood streets was a quiet and beautiful experience. The unit was clean and had new appliances and furnishings. It was conveniently located close to restaurants, hiking, and shopping. We had 3 adults in our party and the Owner surprised us with a second bedroom fully furnished in lieu of the advertised aero-matress! It was heaven!!

From the moment we arrived we felt very welcomed. There was sweet tea, water and fresh cream in the frig. There was also a bowl of fresh fruit. Our second night George built us a fire in the firepit for smores, he even made us sticks for our marshmallows. We truly felt like queens. Our four days there were so peaceful and relaxing, we really hated to leave. I have been using VRBO for at least 8 years and this is the nicest place I have ever stayed. Thank you so much George and Barb for sharing your beautiful home.

Beautiful place & wonderful hosts!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The apartment itself is very open and lovely, and feels completely like your own private space from the main home, along with your own private yard and patio. Beautifully decorated, cheerful, and comfortable interior. The landscape and community was gorgeous-- especially noticeable to our family as we are newcomers to WA. We had an extended stay at this rental while moving to WA and trying to find a long-term rental home in the area. The owners were absolutely amazing, and so welcoming. They brought us home-roasted coffee (yum!), and even assisted us with resources to help find our next home in WA. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations & hospitality. We also had our 2 year old & infant with us, and they didn't complain about noisy babies at all! We highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to explore this beautiful area.

We have enjoyed living in the Puget Sound Area for over 25 years. Staying active outdoors is easy to hike, boat (Barb is an avid dragon boater!), swim and bike close to our home. Our home feels like living in a country setting yet we are so close to everything!

Why they chose this property

We built our home 15 years ago with the intention of hosting families. That dream did not happen but we are now opening our walk-out (lower level) to visitors. We respect the privacy of our guests but look forward to getting to know folks staying in our house.

What makes this property unique

We are located close to outdoor recreation; 10 minutes to Washington National Golf Course, 15 minutes from world class mountain biking trails and about 1.5 hour drive to Crystal Mountain Ski Resort (Mt Rainier) or Snoqualmie Pass. If you prefer water activities, we are minutes away from Lake Morton and Lake Meridian. Services and grocery stores are within 5 miles in Kent or Covington. Maple Valley's Lake Wilderness is close by too!
