Great place for a guy's fishing getaway. Right on the river, has its own put-in spot for a boat and dock. Quiet and beautiful spot. The host was excellent with communication and helping with any questions.
Yes my dogs loved and my family as well loved that it rained the smell of the trees and the clouds was a beautiful scenery! Motivated me starting looking for property around the area!

Thank you Christian, I grew up in the area. It truly is a beautiful area. The home was my Grandparents, and it holds some wonderful memories from all seasons. Please come back again.
Fall River Fishing House was the perfect setting for four guys. Two beds with a bath on the main and two beds and a bath on the lower level. Comfy beds and great towels. Super comfy LR furnishings with two recliners and a gas fireplace that put out some fine heat. Great views of the river from just about every window. Kitchen is small but adequate and had all we needed for preparing and cooking. Property manager was pleasant to deal with and even checked-in to see that all was well. Fishing guides used the river put-in and left their boats docked for the next day's fishing. Wow! Super convenient to say the least.

Thank you, Erin, I have some time in October after the 9th, next April is open 1-24, May 10-21 available. Booked up already for the rest of May and June. I hope you can find a time to return. I appreciate your kind comments. Th house was my Grandparents and full of wonderful memories for me.
This property was just as advertised...clean, private, and in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. The private river access cannot be beat. Communication with the host also could not have been better. Very happy overall, and would absolutely stay hear again.

I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. thank you for your kind remarks. Love to have you back
Panoramic views, resident deer, cows and wide open spaces. We had great stay at the River Ranch. Our kids went fishing daily with our dogs in tow, our son practiced his bike riding around the house and on our day trip to Lassen Volcanic National Park and we enjoyed the beautiful stars on the porch. Perfectly appointed down to the heating blankets in the beds and the extensive variety of kitchen utensils. The local town of McArthur has all the necessities and Burney Falls and Lassen National Forest are only a short drive away. Make the trip, you won’t regret it!
Very cozy & relaxing home set next to Fall River. Quality furnishings, with nice windows bringing in plenty of fresh country air, as well as fine views.
Surrounded by wonderful landscaping, with lots of birds & deer, and some nearby cows. Very quiet & peaceful day and night (one exception: there was a rather loud outdoor party at a place about 300 yards away - ended around 11 pm - very likely a rare occurrence).
Directions were easy to follow, and the owner was a pleasure to speak with. VRBO's description was accurate.
Great place to relax & surround yourself with nature.
Overall a very nice visit. Host very responsive to calls.
Everything very clean but a bit dated. Set-up is two bedrooms with shared tub/shower, kitchen, living and
deck on upper floor (ground level entry on downward sloping lot); Two bedrooms with shared shower/toilet/vanity, and laundry are on the lower "walkout
basement) level with stairwell access and outside access
from lower ground level. Minimal windows on this level.
Upper bathroom has quite a slippery tub and no robe hook on door. A non-slip mat in tub would be helpful.
Location and views great, as well as access to the river and dock.
Amazing water views, wildlife, water access, and ranging cattle! We couldn’t have asked for a better place! The four bedroom, two bathroom home was perfect for two families with lots of kiddos in tow! Between trips to McArthur-Burney Falls and the caves at Lassen National Park, we fished on the dock, explored the river, watched the cows and observed a small family of deer (including two adorable fawns) living just a few feet from the house.
Our boys caught frogs and water snakes and were able to connect with nature. In the evening, we headed to McArthur and had dinner at the Old Merc (great food!), and played corn hole at the Buckhorn Saloon.
Patricia’s place had everything we needed (including fast internet!) and we will definitely be back!

Great Getaway
Patricia was so helpful. Driving directions were excellent. As she mentioned, you can walk to the Spinner Fall River Lodge to inquire about boat rentals or have dinner. The house has a wonderful view of the river and grazing pastures for cattle. The deer are always about... even eating the dropped apples in the front yard. There was always something to watch from the windows. Just two of us stayed so we only used the upper floor. The downstairs/basement has two bedrooms along with the washer & dryer. The upper floor is the nicest, living room is comfortable, small kitchen but functional. I appreciate that this house belonged to Patricia's father and she is sharing it with those who enjoy 'getting away'.

Thank you for your kind remarks. It is a special place full of wonderful memories. I hope you will return soon. Patricia
You can’t beat the location of this compact rustic house and the access to a stretch of the Fall River that is otherwise difficult to gain. Our group took full advantage of the river access for launching kayaks and fishing boats .. the water is stunning! Other than the cows bellowing, grunting, snorting, and mooing in the fields (which we enjoyed), and a long running water pump (which was a minor annoyance), this was also a nice quiet place to stay. We especially appreciated that the property is dog friendly with a fenced yard. We made good use of the well equipped kitchen and meals on the deck. Patricia communicated promptly and worked with our group to meet our specific needs. If you’re looking to add some tranquility to your life, I recommend this property. Be advised that the owner supplies just 2 rolls of TP in each bathroom. Our group consisted of 6 adults and by our 4th night we were out.
The landscape setting of this property is gorgeous. The house is simple, yet functional (I love me a good dishwasher!), and was spotless. Beds were comfortable. However, 2 of the bedrooms are located in a basement area, and the main floor bedrooms didn't seem to have any heat vents (so closing the doors made them colder.) It's probably refreshingly cool in the summer, but was too cold for us on the 23-degree November nights we were there. The host kindly provided heating pads for the beds, which helped, but we had to look all over the house to supplement the blankets on the beds, and found only light cotton blankets. The thermostat was at 50 when we arrived, and it took most of a day to make it up to 65. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting to use the basement bedrooms during the winter.

I am so sorry you were chilly, we stay in December but there are 7 of us so all the hot air warms up the house!!! My Grandparents used to have a wood stove in the basement and that's how they made it through the winter. Your idea of pre heating the house is a great one. thank you,

Beautiful Home Right on the River
This sweet home is just perfect for a family or group of friends and the view from the patio can not get any better. We had six members of our kayak group stay here for a base to our kayaking adventures. The home was just perfect, right on the river with fantastic views. Plenty of room for everyone and everything we needed was provided. The upstairs areas are warm and welcoming and great for gathering together in the evenings. Both upstairs bedrooms have very comfortable beds and the bathroom is large. The basement provides extra space for guests to stay. Although the basement is nothing fancy, it is very clean and the bedrooms have warm rugs and nice beds. The bathroom is relatively small, but has everything you need. In early May the basement was cool and an extra blanket was nice to have at night. (We could have used the heater but we choose not to). An extra nice feature for us was the river access and launch right on the property. This made it very convenient for us to launch our kayaks into the beautiful Fall River. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE STAYING HERE AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

Thank you so much for your gracious review. It is a special place. Love to have you back next year or sooner. Patricia
Spacious, clean, picturesque spot for 3 fishing buddies to chill out after a hard day of casting. Communication with Patricia is excellent. Looking forward to visiting again.
My friend hadn’t spent time with his family since his sister passed away, and his house isn’t big enough to accommodate much more than him. We rented the property so they all could get together, and it was perfect. It was isolated enough to be private but close enough to town that going to the store wasn’t an imposition. Pat checked in with us to make sure everything was going well, and everything we needed was there, including the internet. Thanks!
We loved our stay. We saw lots of different birds, tons of deer (one day when we got back from golfing, two of them were just hanging out in the driveway), and watched a beaver swim up and down the river. It was a great place to be while we were not on the golf course chasing the little white ball around. Lovely property.
We enjoyed our stay here. Very cozy home on the river with access to the water. Patricia was great, very helpful with all my questions, and responded quickly to my calls. We all look forward to staying here again.
We spent most of our time on the deck watching the deer graze with the cows, beavers swimming in the river and enjoying the quiet. The house was comfortable and clean.
